They opened promptly at 5pm and I had a drink in hand at 5:03p. The bartender was polite and attentive. I ate my lamb biriyani at the bar, although this place makes an impressive first date.

Had a great experience here! The vegetarian tasting menu was amazing! Each dish was so delicious and plated very well. The service was great the entire evening as well; our waiter was very helpful and polite. Definitely a must-try if you like Indian food and are in DC!

The staff was extremely accommodating of our group and party since. The ambiance is beautiful. The server was ok, but now as warm or welcoming as we would have expected basis our experience with the hostess. The food was just ok. Nothing was bad or wrong per se, but just not as bold and flavorful as one would expect. The portions were good and the drinks were nice and strong in a good way. I would go back for a large group, but not for something smaller.

My partner and I went here recently to celebrate our anniversary and I was crushed by how terrible my main course was. My favorite Indian dish is biryani. Preferably goat, secondary is lamb, I'll take chicken when it's the only option. I was beyond excited when I saw they had biryani on the main course dinner menu, though my expectations were somewhat tempered by the fact that it was chicken biryani. When they brought it to the table the appearance was plain. It was cooked inside a thin dough casing and the server cut through the crust to reveal the biryani. The server noted that this was to keep the dish moist. Oh how I wish that actually were the case. Their chicken biryani was almost flavorless. I was floored. The chicken was cooked, it seemed, for an additional 6 hours past when it was done. It was dry and completely lacking flavor. I had to drink wine with the chicken to rehydrate my mouth. The rice was cooked well but was almost completely without flavor. There was really nothing else in the dish to speak of. Biryani is supposed to be a comfort food, exploding with flavor, packed with ingredients. I've had better biryani from a gas station Indian food restaurant. It's unforgiveable to get this dish so wrong. We won't be coming back.
Highly recommended to go and check this Indian restaurant,
Highly recommended to go and check this Indian restaurant, their curries are the best. My bf and I went to explore this place and we loved it it. We tried one of their testing menus course of 5/6 I believe and it was a joyful and delicious experience for my first time trying Indian food. I wouldn't mind to go again. The service are also one of the best part of the restaurant, there are all very kind and nice and the ambiance and atmosphere of the restaurant is a plus.
We went to Rasika to celebrate a birthday.
We had to make reservations. Food and service were excellent
The best meal during my most recent trip to DC!! A friend
The best meal during my most recent trip to DC!! A friend raved about how amazing the Palak Chaat was at this restaurant. She said I had to try it the next time I was in DC! I love recommendations so I had to come check this spot out. We were able to make a reservation a day in advance for 5pm on a Friday. We arrived a few minutes prior to 5pm so did have to wait to be seated. They were nice enough to allow us to wait inside. We were quickly seated , and our wait staff approached our table shortly after being seated. To our luck- we dined here during restaurant week. This meant that for $55 we were able to enjoy an appetizer, entree and dessert. My friend and I decided to order different items so that we could try more items. We ordered the following: Appetizers 1.-Palak Chaat -Crispy baby spinach / sweet yogurt / tamarind / date chutney 2. Andhra Tawa Shrimps-Shrimps / Guntoor chili /peppercorn Entree 1. Black Cod-Fresh Dill / red wine vinegar / star Anise / dill Potato 2. Chicken Tikka Masala-Onion / tomatoes / dry fenugreek Dessert 1. Gulab Jamun with Ice Cream 2. Chocolate Mint Pudding The food came out quick and I was impressed. The star of the show was for sure the Palak Chaat! I can't compare the taste to anything else- but if you are considering ordering it- I highly recommend that you do. I was not a fan of the shrimp- too spicy for me. The black cod was ok-i have had better. The chicken masala was well done! I appreciatey the taste of the masala- it was not over powering. The chocolate mint pudding dessert was good! It was comparable to a bread pudding. The ice cream that accompanied the gulab was amazing! Our server highly recommended that we don't skip the ice cream! I have to admit I am glad we took his advice! Overall the food was memorable , the service was comparable to Michelin Star rated restaurants. Our serve constantly made sure our water glasses were full, cleared our plates promptly, and wiped off any crumbs on the table-- highly impressive service! I would say that Rasika is worth patronizing! I know that this spot will be on my list to visit for my next trip to DC!
WOW. The moment you walk in the staff is quite attentive
WOW. The moment you walk in the staff is quite attentive and provides excellent customer service. The restaurant is a great venue, with some private booths and a number of folks were there for business lunches. I shared appetizers with my friend and the palak and kebab were both amazing. I didn't know what to expect with the palak dish but both my friend and I were amazed by the flavors of the dish. The chicken tikka masala has an earthy sauce flavor which was nice. The mango dessert was not too sweet -- I believe the fried string was some sort of sugar? A little interesting to eat through but so good!! This is DC so street parking or wifhinf a 10-15 min walking distance from the DuPont and foggy bottom metro stations.

Just had a terrific restaurant week lunch at Rasika West End. As always the service was impeccable! The food was delicious with many choices. Beautiful dining room. We will be back soon.
While in DC we wanted to try Indian Food.
This location was recommended by our hotel concierge and also by Chat GPT. The restaurant is located around Penn area, very exclusive. The restaurant was packed so you do need to make reservations in advance. We tried salmon, meat and spreads with naan. We loved it and enjoyed the ambiance.
Best restaurant of our trip to DC
Fantastic Indian and I 'm a huge Indian food fan. Our server recommended Palak Chaat that was on their menu for years. It was heavenly and we savored every bite. Mango Lassi smoothy was sublime as well.
Awesome
Omg ! One of the best indian food I have eaten .the palak chaat was crispy and tasty . We have ordered buttery chicken and paneer korms and naan . Paneer korms was so yummy . Ma’am were so soft and fluffy . The whole experience was 5 star .
Wish we lived closer - it was amazing!
What an amazing night we had at Rasika! Gerard was a our server and he was phenomenal - perfect balance of being attentive but not intrusive. He made sure we understood the menu and gave honest opinions and suggestions to what we might like and how much we should order. Cocktails and food were both delicious.
Very disappointing
We’ve had spectacular meals here in years past, but tonight’s meal was very disappointing. Service was extremely slow, and our server wasn’t the least bit apologetic. A 20% service charge was built in, so maybe he had no reason to care?
The food was delicious. The server was obsequies. Unfortunately the noise level was unbearable. Sitting across the small table from my companion we were unable to carry on a conversation. I enjoyed two vegetarian small plates and my companion requested an Indian dish that was not on the menu. Her request was was graciously fulfilled.
Had really high hopes
While the Palak Chaat and the tandoori salmon were stellar, the rest of my oder was disappointing, so overly spiced as to not be able to distinguish the the complexity or component flavors, it was just palate numbing in a unpleasant way. Chicken was over cooked and try. The spice completely overpowered the lamb. Additionally, the service lacked, it was very difficult to get the server's attention. The restaurant also automatically includes the tip, so perhaps the server did not not have motivation to be attentive.
Dinner at Rasika
My wife and I had dinner at Rasika on a Saturday night. The restaurant was busy but the server was very attentive. We started with their signature spinach appetizer and it was fantastic. We also had a lamb entree and chicken Masala. The chicken was especially tasty. Overall highly recommended.
Another excellent dining experience
This restaurant is not to be missed. The food is delicious and flavorful and the service is impeccable. Rasika is one of those restaurants you keep coming back to - it is that good in a city that has many fine restaurants.
Our favorite Indian restaurant in DC!
We love this restaurant. The food is outstanding - including palak chat and dal makhani, the service attentive and nice (should our to Mr. Suli H.) and decor and ambience is beautiful and festive (but casual dress is fine). We’ve been coming here for years and never disappointed.
