Casa Adela New York Reviews from The Last Year
I went to Casa Adela in LES.
A lil gem in the city. Puerto Rican vibe all the way. I got there and was immediately greeted and took my ordet. I got an alcapurria , while I waited. It was Delicious. Tasty, well seasoned and really, really good. I ordered the mofongo with a side of pernil. Absolutely divine it even had cuerito on top. I will absolutely go back whenever I'm in LES. Truly a hidden gem in the concrete jungle I call home NYC.

I came back here a few days ago and brought my husband to eat here. It was his 1st time. He was so surprised how genuinely authentic & delicious everything was. He has already asked me to come back w/ him to eat here again. We ordered the rotisserie chicken, sancocho, yellow rice & beans, tostones, chuleta, pastelon. Rotisserie chicken - One of the most juiciest, most tender, well seasoned rotisserie chicken we have both eaten. Highly recommended! WOW! Sancocho (soup) - This soup is still as good as the 1st time I tried it. It is authentic and so flavorful and delicious! The best sancocho we both had! Also highly highly recommended! Yellow rice & beans - One of the best, most delicious & well seasoned yellow rice & beans we have had. This has so much flavors, it's amazzzzing! Also highly highly recommended! Tostones (comes w/ some garlic oil dip) - Super crunchy on the outside, and soft on the inside. It is well seasoned & when eaten w/ the garlic oil dip - it was even more delicious! Loved it! Chuleta (pork chop) - One of the most tender, well seasoned pork chops I have eaten. My husband also agreed. It was soooo delicious & I love chuletas so much that this is my most favorite one I have eaten in NYC so far. Pastelon - This item shocked us the most. It was truly orgasmic! It had so many flavors - sweet, savory, cheesey, etc. It was amazing and super delicious! I would get 2 of this next time we come back (one to eat there & one to take home). Super super super delicious! Highly highly highly recommended! Please order this - it will change your life. Staff were all very sweet and friendly. This place gets busy, but it is worth the wait! Cash only
Food is good, mofongo pernil is my fav.
It's hard to get them on the phone to preorder food, but over all a good place. Cash only!
The food is definitely authentic.
Service is slow they ignore you until they ready to take your order. Ambiance is cute they rep Puerto Rico like true Puerto Ricans should.

Food was outstanding! Hands down, best PR food we've ever had at a restaurant, and dare I say, challenges some of the home cooking (wifey is from PR). Seating is very limited, but worth the wait!!

The service was amazing - very prompt, attentive, and welcoming. The staff was friendly, the ambience was cozy, and the atmosphere was warm. As a Puerto Rican, the food was delicious, authentic, and worth a trip from Brooklyn. I suggest anything Guisado (or "stew") and my favorites are the red or pink beans. Definitely will come again.
Good food, a bit on the really salty side, but overall
Good food, a bit on the really salty side, but overall enjoyed the meal. The chicken had well flavored skin and the arroz con gandules were good too. The cubano sandwich actually had pernil which was nice, the beef empanada had a nice crisp to it, and the beef itself was alright. PS keep in mind it's cash only, and there will likely be a wait if you order takeout (15-20 minutes), and even longer to get a table, we came on a Friday around 1:30pm and people were still waiting for seating when we left.
I don't wanna rate this fave cuz then it's gonna get packed.
Wish they still took orders over the phone and gave you more ajo w/your order.

Place was definitely a hole, but the servers were disorganized. They initially told us we were the next ones to be seated, but told us 5 min later there were two parties ahead of us. There just wasn't a "list" and so all the servers were telling the customers different timings on when everyone could be seated which was annoying- so we ended up getting food to go. I ordered the mofongo with pernil which was good with the gravy mixed in and my boyfriend ordered the half chicken with rice and beans-rice was a huge portion. Cash only!!! The place is pretty small to begin with- they open up more door seating in the summer. Parking is also tough here- it's in a rough part of manhattan, looks more like the BX so be careful.
Please believe the hype, this is your abuelas cooking! I
Please believe the hype, this is your abuelas cooking! I had the arroz con gandules, pernil and sorullos with guayaba y queso. This PR food is fire!
Casa Adela
My buddy dated a Puerto Rican girl for one night and she raved about this place, so I had to check it out. Wow. What an establishment this is. I feel as though I walked through some sort of worm hole into what I think an authentic hole in the wall restaurant in Puerto Rico would be. No flash, all character and delicious food. For $12.50 you get half a chicken, and two sides that are bigger than my head and I have a HUGE head. It is quite literally 2 meals in one, I can't eat the whole portion in a sitting. This essentially comes out to $6.25 a meal, which rivals some TJ's froz-- Wait did you hear that.................yeah I think I did t-- INFLAAAAAATION BUUUUUSSTTTEEERRRRRR!!!! The chicken is tender, juicy, and rich in flavor while essentially falling off the bone. The yellow rice and beans were everything I could have hoped and dreamed. I absolutely love this place and have been back 3-4 times since I first went. ALPHABET CITY STAND UP!!!! IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov__
