Cecconi’s Amsterdam Reviews
Best place in Amsterdam
My mom and I ate here while visiting Amsterdam and we both agree it is one of the best restaurants in the city hands down! We were both blown away by every single dish they brought out, each getting better and better. Not only is the food amazing but the environment is amazing, there was live instrumental music as well. The service was great and very quick. Would highly highly recommend!
Cecconi's was one of the best restaurants we visited during
Cecconi's was one of the best restaurants we visited during our short stay in Amsterdam. The atmosphere was elegant yet relaxed, and the service was truly 10 out of 10. I had the entrecôte with peppers and salsa verde -- perfectly seared, packed with flavor, and cooked to perfection. My wife had the branzino with spinach, tomatoes, peppers, and olives -- it was crispy, well-seasoned, and absolutely delicious. An unforgettable dining experience from start to finish.
Not up to Soho House standards
Firstly, I’d like to point out that I’ve eaten at 4 other Cecconi’s restaurants in various cities. This one though, was the worst. We ordered 2 pizzas to start, one for the grown ups and one for the child that was with us. We also ordered a couple of other appetisers. The waiter, who was more concerned in hearing himself talk, not only forget one of the appetisers but worse still, he didn’t even put in an order for the child’s pizza. The main courses were mediocre and after ordering a nice bottle of Sicilian Etna white, I had to poor the wine myself because the waiter kept forgetting. Wouldn’t go back.
Ended up at Cecconi's because they had a gluten-free menu
Ended up at Cecconi's because they had a gluten-free menu option for my cousin and had a great time dining there. The ambiance and decor is very fancy and chic, we left before the band started to play but it looked like it would've been fun to stay and watch in the lounge area. The food was delicious and I'll be dreaming of their focaccia bread
Great Setting
Really nice setting in an impressive building. Service was friendly & attentive. Food was not cheap but was very good. Not easy to find as there is no sign outside the building, a local pointed us in the right direction when they saw us looking a bit lost.
Good food but terrible service
This was my third time there and while so far I had always had a good experience, unfortunately I have to say that I was very much disappointed. As we had a reservation for two at 9pm and had arrived too early, we first had a drink at the bar. At 8.50 pm the reception lady told us that our table was ready. We explained that we would rather first finish our drink and then go to our table. 10 minutes later the bartender went to the reception lady to let her know that we were ready to go to the restaurant area. She did not react and we just waited for them to give us our table. At 9.10 she then came over and told us that we had to order our food as the kitchen will be closing at 9.15. We explained that we would happily do so if we could have a seat at the table, which we had reserved. Later on, the food arrived, but just one dish (we had ordered two pasta dishes). We asked two times about the second dish and had to wait 10-15 minutes for it to arrive. When it finally did, the portion of the second dish was so small and served in a tiny plate, so that we were actually wondering if they had served us the tiny leftover of pasta they could come up with as the kitchen had closed at 9.15. As a « little gesture », they served us some foccacia bread (which to my surprise, during my two first visits, had always been served for free before your main dish would even arrive). As for the dessert, well we could not even order one as they do not serve any desserts after 10.15 pm. While I cannot say anything bad about the taste of the food itself and the drinks, the service was really terrible. If you cannot order/serve any food be it at 9.15pm or 10.15pm, then just do not accept reservations for 9pm.
Delicious, quick, well priced food
Amazing restaurant, not sure why it isn't a 5 star place. Went as a couple and the service was amazing and speedy, the food service was quick, and the prosseco was delicious. The food came out very quickly and was very fresh, we had the salami pizza and the cheese pasta. The pizza's ingredients fell off easily, without being too greasy, which is a perfect sign of fresh ingredients. The bill only came to €54 which included a 10% tip, for 2 mains, a bottle of water, and 3 glasses of Prosecco. The only thing that I would mention before recommending this place is that if you only want tap water, make sure to make that clearer, as we were charged €6.50 for one bottle. Other than that, massively recommend this place.
UNWELCOMING
I would love to have reviewed this place but unfortunately their booking system does not allow and they seem to preclude solo diners . On trying to book for two or more they have tables . Upon phoning to try and book for one they would not honour the booking. There is an air of arrogance and snootiness about this place so I found somewhere I was made welcome .
I think I had the lobster pasta.
It's been two years, and this review sits in my "draft" box with a 5 star review. I love the environment - it's very classy. Great attentive service and delicious food. :)

We passed this restaurant a few times while staying at the w Amsterdam. We walked in one night and the restaurant was really buzzing with energy and a well dressed crowd. Joy the hostess was super friendly and told us to Come back at 745 the next night. She was spot on. Great food and service. There was live jazz to add to the night.
Entrance was off Spuistraat.
We were sat accordingly and next to kitchen. This was fun to see as It was an open concept. We ordered a martini, soho mule, and Rosé Champagne. All drinks were good For food, we ordered the artichoke (very interesting blend of ingredients but refreshing), whipped ricotta (yum), beef carpaccio (great portion size). And split the bolognese (delicious and classic) and margarita pizza (also yum, we ordered to much food but the crust was delicious and loved It was a fired pizza). Was reasonable priced in my opinion, and forgot we put down a deposit so was nice to see that was taken off the bill as It has the illusion of saving money
Went here to celebrate a friend's birthday.
It was a private dining event featuring a variety of offerings. Everything was great. Service was excellent. They brought out wines that went perfectly with each course. The standout dish was the branzino. I'm usually not a fan since it doesn't really knock me out versus other seafood. But this was very well prepared and probably my favorite dish of the evening. Having landed in Amsterdam from Chicago hours beforehand, I was fighting some serious jet lag. But we powered through and made it to dinner and I'm so glad we did!

Ceconni's has a great ambiance! We sat in the lounge area, sipped on cosmos and enjoyed live music by a lovely jazz band. The food was good -- focaccia, burrata, selection of meats, bolognese, mushroom risotto and cacio e pepe. They were very accommodating of gluten free! My friend said the gluten free bread was the best she's had.
This is probably my 3rd time coming to Cecconi's Amsterdam
This is probably my 3rd time coming to Cecconi's Amsterdam in two months. There's always great music playing in the background. Today it was jazz. I've always been attended by Gabriel every time. He is an example of what great service is. He is knowledgeable and has great recommendations based on what you're into. I'd like to thank Gulshen the female chef because she prepared the best Branzino I've ever had that I order the dish twice! And as always I ended with the tiramisu which is to die for, it is so delicious!
Absolutely looooved my experience at Cecconi's Amsterdam!
Absolutely looooved my experience at Cecconi's Amsterdam! Came for a late lunch on a Saturday and decided to sample a few dishes. Everything was absolutely incredible. We got: - Mushroom risotto: sooo yummy - Tagliatelle bolognese: This might've been my favorite thing out of the whole meal! - Beef tartare: We loved the addition of the black truffle shavings along with the quail egg - Whipped ricotta: This was so light and delicious. The bread it came with was incredible as well Unfortunately they weren't serving pizzas when we went which was a bit of a bummer. That's my only complaint though! Such a beautiful and upscale ambiance inside the restaurant as well.
We were able to get seated at the bar without a reservation
We were able to get seated at the bar without a reservation and had an amazing time! The drinks were delicious, the food was AMAZING, and the ambiance was truly the best part of the restaurant. It is super classy, modern, and the staff were so friendly. There was some live music playing when we were here, which was a nice touch as well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
