Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen Universal City Reviews from The Last Year
Waiter fantastic food ok
Nice visit. Large restaurant that’s kept quite clean but does have constant through traffic as so busy. Food ok, 2 of us had waffles and 2 had burgers. Fries on both plates were stone cold but burgers ok. Waffles so big neither could finish them. Waiter was fantastic! Josh was very informative and helpful, he made my very shy son smile and laugh which is unheard of in that situation usually! Found out that if we just wanted a dessert or milkshake we wouldn’t need to book, you can just turn up and have a small wait downstairs so this is something we will definitely do in the future! Portions are BIG!!

Beautiful meal, highly recommend
We visited here on our very first night. We did have a reservation but after a very long flight and tired, cranky kids the waitress was very kind to us. She was so pleasant and asked us about our stay and upon finding out we had just undertaken a massive journey and one child not feeling great, she said she’d try speed everything along so we could eat and get out of there to get rested and she did and the food delivery was speedy. I had a southern fried chicken burger with fries and it was amongst the best burger and fries I had of my whole stay, kids meals were also excellent and very reasonably priced. Another separate day we stopped by for a milkshake and some sweet treats from the bakery end & also highly recommend. Would absolutely recommend this place for a meal and/or dessert & milkshakes/sundaes.

We ended up eating at the chocolate Emporium after a day at Universal. The ambience and location were really terrific... Too bad the food was not. We had fine service and a great location to sit overlooking the water. The french fries that came as sides were virtually inedible. While the descriptions of our main courses sounded interesting in the menu, none of the flavor combinations really came through... It's like the idea was great but the implementation was terrible. It seemed as though most of the items were pre-cooked and reheated. Really not acceptable at these prices. Anyway, if you're looking for ambience after a day at the park this is a good bet... Just don't expect good food.

I'm posting to show the Gnocchi because I couldn't find a pic when browsing before ordering. The mole sauce tasted a little like curry which I think is worth noting for folks who don't like curry.
Messy
Excited to visit today. Whilst the ice cream was amazing the front of house was very messy with discarded glasses and napkins and ice cream covered tables. No servers around to clear anything so I did it myself. Not a big deal until I left and realised I had sat on ice cream which was on the bench. Come on guys expect better at these prices.
Very cool and unique place to eat at when visiting CityWalk.
Chocolate bread was fantastic and the burgers were great with an amazing sundae to top it all off.
Go for lunch!
We went for lunch since it was a rainy day and we could not get dinner reservations. Very interesting decor and story. Penelope and her robot came to our table and had a discussion with us! Good food - we had the quiche and the croque monsieur. Ran out of room for dessert but it looked great! Fun experience

I came here because a while ago a bartender made a fantastic Chocolate Espresso Martini. I asked about it since I didn't see it on the menu, and he called it a "secret menu item" and made it for me. I was so impressed by the level of service and quality of drinks. I appreciated that the bartender was efficient and friendly. I will definitely be back to have this drink again!

Over the top fun desserts!! My husband and I shared then pineapple upside down shake. It was delicious with fun presentation. The staff was polite. There is a nice large patio to sit outside and enjoy the treats!
Just ate here for Mother's Day and had a GREAT time.
Standouts included the Brussel sprouts (trust me on this, if you don't like them now, you WILL after). The desserts were, as expected, chocolatey good decadence. The chocolate martinis were equally out damn standing. The entrees were just OK honestly. What makes this a 5 star recommendation for us is our waiter Seth. He was engaging, sarcastic (like we are) , funny enough to make tired teenagers and 20 somethings laugh and ON IT for everything we needed without hovering. If you're going, ask for Seth. Trust me on this! (And the Brussel sprouts).
Extravagant Milkshakes But Not Worth $18
After a really great day at Universal Studios, the kids talked us into going to the Chocolate Emporium for milkshakes. You have to have money to visit any of the theme parks, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that you’re going to pay more for dessert. Our kids gave their chocolate cookie jar shake ($18) a score of 8 out of 10. My wife and I gave our red velvet shake ($17) a 6. Both tasted good, and you get a souvenir cup, but there was too much whipped cream and the cup is the size off a $4 shake anywhere else. But again it’s a theme park, and $16 - $18 for a milkshake seems almost normal. My wife and I would say skip this. The kids don’t.
When my friends and I first arrived about 10 minutes early
When my friends and I first arrived about 10 minutes early for the reservation we set here we were stopped at the entrance with a lot of cars unable to get in as they weren't letting any one in which delayed us getting to city walk. I called up customer service to relay the problem and at first it said our reservation had past but he was able to get in touch with the manager to hold our table. So moral of that story is come like 30 minutes early because you never know if they'll accommodate you or you'll get stopped at the gate like we did. Separately we really enjoyed our visit once we got seated our server was AMAZING . So attentive and even listen to hear why we were in town and such and even made a point to notice us playing a game together on our phones to suggest a plays called player one that has a bunch of games. We ordered for an app fries and these chocolate stout wings oddly enough the combo worked although I suggest a cream base dip sauce to accompany it. For our meals we got an Alfredo pasta which the entire plate was gone by the end of the meal. Cheese burger with bacon and a flat bread. The flat bread was ok I felt there was a bit too much cheese on it. For dessert we indulged in a chocolate creme brûlée it was pretty good just the Caramelize sugar was a bit soft not as crisp as it traditional is. We also got the cookie jar milkshake was huge and sweet, it was a beauty. We even got to keep the mason jar after! The decor was crazy steam punk theme no detail untouched. They even have steam punk characters to take photos with! I will be coming back next time I'm in town. I'm just going say that if you get stuck at the gate like my friends and I or in traffic they may or may not hold the reservation and you may have to rebook for later in the day if there's available luckily we were squeezed it but just keep in mind!
This is a fun restaurant and a great place to take kids (of
This is a fun restaurant and a great place to take kids (of all ages)! We loved the steam punk inspired decor and our server was friendly and helpful. It's a little annoying that they do the QR code menu on your phone because I always have a hard time pulling it up and for me it just detracts from the dining experience. But moving on... As a starter, we tried the Warm Chocolate Almond Bread. I don't know what I was expecting, but this didn't do it for me. It's like chocolate chips in a dinner roll. My husband and son liked it though! For dinner we had the Wild Mushroom Chicken Risotto, Gnocci, and the kids' Marinara Garganelli (pasta). The Risotto was really flavorful but the chicken was very dry. Overall, it was good. The Gnocci had a mole cream sauce, which we knew would we different, but it just didn't land right. Not terrible, but not something we'd order again. The kids' pasta was top notch according to my son. Now onto the main event... Dessert! We ordered the Banana And Nutella crepes (on their all-day brunch menu), That's "Mint" milkshake, and Cookie Jar milkshake. The crepe was pretty disappointing, honestly. To have "banana" in the name and literally get 4 to 5 small banana slices was underwhelming. It was an okay crepe, but not the best I've had. I expected more from a restaurant known for their desserts. The milkshakes were good, not mind-blowing, but solid. They are fancy and make an impression on presentation alone. This place is worth a visit for the ambiance alone. Food was pretty good - don't expect the meal of a lifetime or anything - and don't skip dessert (if only for the experience). And check out the gift shop on your way out!
My husband, myself, and our two children make an annual
My husband, myself, and our two children make an annual trip to Orlando every year and split our time between Disney and Universal Studios. We tend to try a different restaurant every year and this year we decided to give Toothsome a go since our son is very into robots as of late. We decided to have lunch there on Wednesday 5/1 which was the second day of our trip. The food was great and the milkshake was unforgettable! Where this visit fell short was unfortunately the characters at Toothsome. My son was really excited to meet Jacque, a real life robot. However, when it came time to meet him, the conversation seemed to be heavy between Penelope and Jacque. We get, she's "his creator" and that interaction between the two is necessary due to the storyline, but it seemed like every time we tried to interact, they would interact with us for a moment but continued on a conversation with each other almost forgetting we were there. Maybe they were really into the storyline, I just felt a little bummed for my son who was really excited to have his moment with Jacque.
Waited forever with a reservation
We had an 8:00pm reservation and despite being told our table was "ready" several times we were not seated until 9:45. The food was ok. We loved the truffle fries but everything else was run of the mill. We barely saw the mascots for being there for nearly 3 hours. Having to wait so long, with a confirmed reservation, really ruined the experience for me.
Does not live up to the hype
Very disappointing experience. Does not live up to the hype. Service was slow and my daughters hamburgers were not properly cooked (still extremely red inside).
Yes dessert; hard no for food
You, kind reader, are already smarter than I am for checking TripAdvisor reviews before ordering. I think if you want an air conditioned space to indulge in a yummy dessert or alcoholic beverage, you have found your place. The food, however, was terrible. The croque monsieur was strange—it had a crumbly topping on it that looked delicious but tasted mainly like salt. Without this topping it probably would have been fine. The greatest tragedy, however, was the fries. They were bad. Not, like, mediocre bad, which is common enough, but maybe-they-were-made-yesterday-and-then-reheated bad. Get the chips instead. The waitstaff were nice except there as a single I was more or less told I needed to sit at the bar, which would be fine if it were crowded (it was not) or if I was tall (I am not). The bar only has high tops, as most bars, and as such the meal wasn’t physically comfortable. So. Yes for desserts! No for food.
Fantastic atmosphere
I suggest going at off times to avoid a long wait time. It took me a few times going at dinner time or park closing to realize that instead of waiting an hour that I could go at 2:00 and be seated right away. If you don't have that luxury, it's still worth the wait. They have a gift store to browse while waiting. I had the Coffee and Chocolate Stout Chicken Wings. They were delicious. I can't wait to go back.
My family and I came in for lunch on a weekday.
We had a short wait to be seated. We were able to browse their store during that time. Staff was very friendly, helpful, and interactive as some portraying themselves as characters. The restaurant is well themed and decorated. The food was absolutely amazing. It was an all around great experience. I highly recommend and will definitely return.
This review is specifically about the sweet shop as we did
This review is specifically about the sweet shop as we did not eat at the restaurant. The building is super cute and the decor inside is very neat to see. We were in the line to order our sweets and were skipped over initially. That was slightly annoying but not the end of the world. My daughter ordered a raspberry champagne and a passion fruit macaron. She thought both of those were really good and wanted to go back a second time for more. She went with cotton candy and coconut macarons the second night, which she thought were also very good. I went with a pecan truffle and a salted caramel as recommended by the employee. The pecan was ok and I wasn't really a fan of the salted caramel. Luckily, I decided to throw in a plain Rice Krispie treat at the last minute. It was classicly delicious and huge. My husband ordered three different flavors of fudge: chocolate peanut butter, cookie dough, and a caramel pecan. They look like they would be phenomenal but we all thought they were lacking in flavor. The cookie dough was the most disappointing, followed by the lack of peanut butter taste you'd want in a chocolate peanut butter fudge. The caramel pecan was ok, but not worth it to us. The texture of them all was what you'd want in a fudge, just lacking in flavor. We personally think you could find a better tasting sweet elsewhere though you should stop in to see the cute aesthetic!
Milkshakes are fine but they desperately need an operations
Milkshakes are fine but they desperately need an operations manager. Someone that knows how to manage food orders. I placed my order for milkshake at the register. I waited with a LOT of people for out number to be called. I only see them handing out "non-milkshake" items like cake slices. I walk up closer to the counter (where dozens of people are standing waiting for their number to be called out, and I see about 10 ready milkshakes waiting behind the counter. I keep standing there and i see them taking out more and more milkshakes from the back, placing them behind the counter, and pretty much letting them melt. People are starting to get upset but no one said anything to them. So after 35 minutes of waiting and about 30 milkshakes just standing there, I proceeded to ask one of the employees (he looked like a manager wearing a button-down shit), why they are not handing out the milkshakes and just letting them stand there, He asked for my receipt, I gave it to him, and he just handed me one of the milkshakes that was waiting there behind the counter. I just cannot understand this horrible logic.
Pass on the Pop Rocks mocktail - all 6 of us disliked it.
The truffle fries were rubbery like the fryer wasn't hot enough. French Onion soup was okay. Now the shakes are SUBERB. We had the Brownie shake and the Chocolate. Quiche Lorraine : good but the way they reheat it gets close to burnt on the outside. The Caesar dressing is watery. Kids waffle: delicious. Croque monsieur was good. The margarita flatbread was not good. Stewed tomatoes on a cracker flatbread was not good at all. Overall, listen to their recommendations: they specialize in DESSERTS. The staff was nice and the ambiance is cool. For the candy side: macarons were good as well as the truffles - we recommend . Pass on the chocolate bacon, you can't really taste the bacon.
YUM, An almost perfect visit, one star off
Visited for the first time recently. The place is like Willy Wonka's on steroids. We just wanted dessert so we went upstairs to the bar. Our group had a bunch of desserts. I tasted his Brownie Specialty Milkshake $17.00 (Dutch chocolate ice cream, brownie, milk chocolate swirl) - absolutely delicious, really quality chocolate ice cream and a dense, chewy, chocolatey brownie with a keepsake plastic jar. I tried the Triple Chocolate Bread Pudding $10.00 (Three types of chocolate, chocolate cake, white chocolate ice cream) -- which I took a star off of my review because A) it arrived 5-10 minutes after everyone else's dessert, so everyone was already half way through theirs by the time mine arrived and B) it wasn't three types of chocolate, it was barely two. It was regular bread pudding (not chocolate), the small square of chocolate cake was the size of two sugar cubes and was more espresso cake than chocolate, but the white chocolate ice cream did eat well when paired with the bread pudding. We would definitely return, I would just have a milkshake!
This was our first time to Universal.
We were expecting something spectacular, considering their extensive menu and desserts. Our food came out cold, fries were hard and my sandwich meat was crispy like it sat under a heat lamp for a while before being brought out. The ambiance was nice and our server was great- service was impecable and he was attentive. You will wait for 1+ hours to get in during peak and you will wait some time once you get in to get your food. This is a busy place. Ambiance was nice but food mediocre. I'd spend my money somewhere else next time we go to Univeral.
Skip a ride, go here instead
The atmosphere. The milkshake. The food. The milkshake. Quite possibly the best of combination of all. Delicious and fun. Go to this. Now.
Excellent!
Fantastic Food, Fantastic Theming & Fantastic Service! It's a must to visit here if you're at Universal!! Very Lovely food.
Loved toothsomes!!!
Delicious food in an awesomely themed restaurant. Great dining experience for the whole family!! The risotto was the highlight and the desserts were spectacular
This was a whimsical paradise for chocolate lovers like
This was a whimsical paradise for chocolate lovers like myself or offering not only fantastic food but also mesmerizing ambiance and a plenty of sweet treats to take home. The ambiance was truly extraordinary. The front showcase of fudge, macarons, and exquisite truffles, all perfect for bringing a taste back to the room. The food was great but the highlights is the live dessert making display. The milkshakes were a spectacle unto themselves adorned with cookies, candies, and towering toppings! Our waitress was very friendly and sweet! Just like the desserts! This was our first visit and we will definitely go back when we are back in Orlando!
So, management left a message to call, of which I did.
After I went through everything it was obvious they did not care because they didn't even respond to me ... just radio silence. So, for that, it is now a one star review. Now I feel worse, thanks for that. We have been here many times and lived it, and today we had a reservation at 3:15, we were early. Okay, but we asked at 3:15 how long and they said after our time. Then at 3:25 they repeatedly called another party of 5 with same reservation time that was NOT there!!!! They did this 3 separate times allowing time to pass ... Instead of US who were standing IN FRONT of them!!! How unprofessional and petty.
I guess
I’ve never had any interest in visiting this place but it’s always been in a nice spot and making a reservation seemed to be no trouble. I am glad to have now visited this establishment, it’s quite impressive and I couldn’t fault the food. The burger was great and the wings were pleasant. However, what let this place down was by far, the service. Talk about awkward. First of all, being sat upstairs is a no go. It’s like being an afterthought, with so many people passing by the tables. Our server was also far too familiar and short with us. While a plain burger was no problem, a certain milkshake without the cookie advertised was treated like an insult, to the point that the server wouldn’t allow me to order it. I was so annoyed by the server’s lengthy response that I chose not to order any milkshake or desert at all, something which I had otherwise intended to do. A common problem with most restaurants in the US (if not with all that I visited in April 2024) is when your main course is brought out when you are still eating your mains. This had to be the worst example of that. My main was brought out on 3 occasions by a different server. Each time the server appeared confused and would give a short response like “I’ll take this away I guess.” I can’t remember the other responses, but they became increasingly annoying. On the third occasion, this new server brought our original server, as if for back up, who then proceeded to take our plates away, removing any option to turn away the main course again it seemed. While I cannot say my main course was cold as a result, I would have expected a completely new burger, based on the amount of times it came from and returned to the kitchen. Due to the experience with the staff, I genuinely felt ashamed to leave a tip, which I ended up doing. I haven’t felt this annoyed and exhausted whilst eating a meal in a little while. I just didn’t know what would happen next.
What do I start with! I was so impressed with the themeing
What do I start with! I was so impressed with the themeing throughout the restaurant. They have a story that I loved learning about from my server. Lauren She even introduced us to Dr. Toothsome who created the Emporium. We started off with the Philly Eggrolls, they were small but the perfect starter. Lauren recommended that we also try the chocolate almond bread which was divine! I could eat that all day! We had the perfect table by the windows to watch over Citywalk. It was so nice to sit and relax. We also wanted to mention that the manager with a bowtie, stopped by our table to comment on my son's bag. He talked to us for a few minutes and made notice that my son was celebrating his birthday. He suggested we get the Confetti Shake. We declined because we were so full. However he came back to the table with a candle in a piece of confetti cake because you gotta have some cake on your birthday! I couldn't believe he would go out of his way to make my son feel so special!
The food was good, and the atmosphere is really nice.
I would recommend going here for dessert. Our waiter was very nice, but he seemed to vanish for a while when we needed drink refills. The only downside of this place is that the bathrooms were pretty disgusting. They need to check on them more often.

Food: blackened Salmon Cesar salad 8/10 just needed more dressing and chocolate pork sliders 8/10 the flavor was phenomenal but the bread was super hard. Milkshakes: Vanilla, brownie, red dragon 10/10 milkshake cups are souvenirs so don't forget to take them (Mason Jar with the logo on it) Service: 10/10 reservations are advised I made reservations months in advice due to spring break Ambiance: Casual, the restaurant is made into a workshop (read the introduction of the restaurant it's interesting)
Never say No to Chocolate
Totally amazing! This place never fails to excel in service and food! I made reservations months in advance to make sure to be able to get a table. It's justifiably that good and even more so that popular.
Good food but poor service
This place has amazing milkshakes, dessert and main meals. Huge selection to chose from. Very busy at night time so book early. We ordered as a family. Food came in stages with long wait between each so couldn’t start until everyone was served. Waiter totally forgot about our dessert. Quite expensive, good food let down by poor service.
Skip This Place
The ambiance was so lacking compared to the rest of Universal. The food wasn't great, especially when the server delivered it to me with his bare thumb in the gravy of the Chicken Bercy. The milkshakes are HIGHLY over rated, You are paying nearly 20 bucks for a cup of mostly cool whip, not even real whipped cream. The sundae's looked like they would be better choice. The best part of the experience was the robot and actress walking around. They were the only saving grace. We will skip this place on our next trip to universal. Eat in the park instead!
Give this one a miss!
Tasteless food, tiny portions, slow and flippant service and a dark gloomy atmosphere! Defintely don't bother. What should have been a birthday celebration turned out to be the worst meal.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.

Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.

Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
