Misses the mark for a top steakhouse
Here a couple of times during the week, dining with colleagues at the bar. Overall the basics were solid- filet, shrimp cocktail, Mac & cheese, martinis. Other than that underwhelmed by 2 Waygu ribeye cap, strip and ribeye. Kitchen seems to have an issue under and overcooking. Waygu ribeye cap for $100+ tasted like a basic cheap Denver steak. Side dishes fair.

The service and the seabass were both amazing. However for a restaurant called Stripsteak, the NY steak was so grisly it was almost inedible. At least one third was left on the plate. So disappointing.
Be the first to ReplyGreat meal, Great service
Came for dinner before our Michael Jackson ONE show. Our greeting at check-in was friendly and we were seated immediately. We weren't that hungry, so we decided to order and share....had the garden salad, the crabcake, the mashed potatoes and the 20 oz ribeye. Before our meal items arrived, we were given fries and a trio of dipping sauces....ketchup, spicy ranch and one with truffles...all delicious and the fries were just the way we like them....crispy on the outside and a little salty. The salad had the most flavourful vinaigarette on it, not overpowering. Every item in the salad was fresh. The crabcake was also excellent. The potatoes were velvetly smooth and melted in your mouth, and I cannot give enough platitudes to the steak...perfectly cooked medium, pink all the way through. Just the right amount of marbling and the mesquite wood fire came through. We were too full for dessert but will definitely get the beignets next time we come. Rachel was our waitress and you can tell she has been doing this for some time....she provided just excellent service and Victor kept our glasses filled with water and was so personable. Both Rachel and Victor have been at Stripsteak for years...that tells you something about how the establishment is run. We left Stripsteak completely full and have vowed to come back next time with a bigger appetite and grab a dessert.
Be the first to ReplyMemorable atmosphere, personalized service, friendly and wonderful food. A must when in Vegas
From start to finish, this was an over the top experience! We were greeted warmly and seated immediately (reservation was made). The decor and furnishings were tastefully done and Dominic gave us personalized service, calling us by name…creating a memorable experience. Shout out to Hunter, Michelle and Dan. Chef Kyle was outstanding. The tastes exploded in my mouth and the presentation of food was something to be seen. All in all, this is a night I will remember with a smile. When returning to Vegas, it will be a place I return to. I highly recommend StripSteak
Be the first to ReplyDrinks are so good!!
Jr is an AMAZING mixologist! He made me an espresso martini with tequila and it might be the most tasty martini I’ve had. The atmosphere is great and try the French fry trio- it’s so good. I would have liked a TV so I could watch the games I bet on but other than that JR and Anna (the GM) we’re amazing!

Had a great dinner and drinks. Recommend if with more than 2 people to order the family type dinner since feeds many and overall good price for what you get compared to everyone ordering on their own.
Be the first to ReplyGood steakhouse
Had the Waygu strip steak and wife had filet and the both were very good but wouldnt say great. The lobster mash potatoes were really good. Service was good and like the ambience. Very expensive but would recommend.
Be the first to Reply60th Birthday Celebration
Reservations for Group Dining of 22 was confirmed after considering 4 other restaurants. I was quite please with the dinner setup and servers were excellent. However, with a full itinerary of 20 guest / final count, I understood I would be credited if guest attending was less or charged if more attended. Well my beautiful evening of celebration & excitement came with disappointment! I would not be credited as previously informed and was charged the full 22 guest by restaurant and event planning demonstrated no interest in making it right! No exceptions - only policy and contract. Please get everything in writing as the customer experience here with the planning staff missed the mark… At best Mandalay Bay and Delano definitely got it right!! I informed family and friends to book hotel reservations and their upcoming celebration dinner elsewhere. My MVP me at nothing here! Quite disappointing in the lack of empathy and the inability to make exceptions when warranted! My husband, the birthday man, loved the food so much he wanted to return Sunday but chose to go elsewhere after I informed him of what happened with the guest count at his birthday dinner! Customer Experience is everything
Be the first to ReplySkip Stripsteak
I have dined here many many times over the years. The service was great. Top shelf. Cocktails, wine sommelier - great. The wedge salad, underwhelming. This is my third steak house in 2 weeks, my worst wedge. The steak - bone in strip, I buy better steaks at wal-mart and my local grocer. My customer dinning with me from Dallas said it was the thinnest strip he has ever seen. Full of gristle. And I told him this was a great place to eat. The lobster mashed - fantastic. The beignets were good, but with the 3 sauces - fantastic. So for over $400, this was pretty poor. I doubt I will eat here again.

We were seated in the main restaurant and acknowledged straight away, we ordered drinks and we were given time to look at the menu's and ask any questions. They bought us out a complimentary trio of French fries and dips to start the meal. We all chose different meals and the steaks were cooked well and flavoursome, we shared creamed potato's and asparagus. For dessert two us wanted to share the beignets but our server said the shared portion would be too much so bought out three beignets with one dessert pod of creme brulee, in hindsight I wish we had the full experience of the six beignets and three dessert pods to dip into, if the server hadn't made the choice for us then we would have had the full dessert. The meal was lovely but felt that we were guided as to what the server thought rather than giving us the informed choices, also it is an expensive meal and you want perfection when paying high end prices.
Be the first to ReplyAwesome Steaks & Service
Steven was our server & was very good with with help with the menu & ordering foods & sides. Andrew also helped with some of our questions about the menu & wine selection. The Wagyu Rib Cap steak wine selection was a good one. The steaks were cooked medium rare, just as we ordered. We all enjoyed the 40th birthday celebration there. We will be back.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointed by the Drunken Lobster
My wife and I have been to Stripsteak in Waikiki multiple times, and we always loved our time there. This was our first time at this location and, unfortunately, our experience was a big letdown. First of all, the ambiance is quite anonymous, just inside the casino with no view or any particular design feature. It's also very loud and not conducive to a romantic dinner (we were here to celebrate our anniversary). The biggest letdown was the food: we came here expressly to eat the Whole Drunken Lobster, the signature dish that we had on our last visit to Waikiki a few months ago. Unfortunately, the lobster was overcooked, stringy, and almost tasteless. On the plus side, the Wagyu Steak Tartar was very good, just a bit too spicy. The Spicy Salmon Tataki was also excellent. Finally, the Ginger-Scallion Sea Bass was great, just, again, a bit too savory. The steaks at the neighboring tables looked amazing, so I guess we will stick to those in case we come back to this venue.

Great service. Delicious food that came with wonderful presentation. I ordered the cowboy ribeye and it was cooked to perfection. I have no complaints and only compliments for the dining experience receivednat Stripsteak. The truffle fries appetizers are a nice touch, didn't have to ask for them, they come automatically while you're waiting for your meal. Kind of like their version of bread when you get seated. There are a lot of food choices in Mandalay Bay and this is a great one.
Be the first to ReplyFood is exceptional! Service by Waiter/order taker was shaky…
Waiters “Order takers” were EH.
The Wait-Staff delivery and bus service and the Food were EXCEPTIONAL.
To level set. I was in town for work and dining solo. Mandalay Bay had both a Volleyball tourney and major music concert on-site.
At 5 o’clock they allowed Bar & Bar area seating. 1st come/1st served. The Bar had mostly “reserved” seats so as the 2nd or 3rd person in, I took a small table Bar adjacent. I Just wanted to order dinner, eat and get out. The line to get in was long because they had a TON of reservations.
It seemed like at the Bar would have been a better choice. Drink-cocktail order was taken by water/order taker (Jennifer),
BUT I eventually had to ask the Manager (Ron) to help me order food. He was friendly and helpful. Told me he was New.
The (2) Two waiter/order takers for the sections seemed overwhelmed as within 30 minutes the Bar/Bar areas were completely full.
Wait-staff delivery (I had Omar) was swift, clean and each time he asked if I needed anything plus offered suggestions.
Then the bus-service (I had Juan) was also swift and professional. He automatically refilled my water glass several times.

CUCUMBER MARTINI $20- light and refreshingly delicious.
SALMON TATAKI $25- Four (4) sashimi slices with a nice flavorful slightly spicy sauce. Good. But will skip if there’s a next-time.
WAGYU RIBCAP $96- Absolutely perfect! Cooked exactly how I asked. The marbling of the meat while cooked over fire took the taste and flavor to off-the-charts fantastic!Just a pinch of Sea or Himalayan salt on top. Once you try this steak you will understand why it’s the Chefs favorite cut and the Signature steak on the menu.
Relatively small size but because of the appetizer Spicy fried rice plus I added the half lobster tail- they even gave some claw meat ($43-) it was more than enough. I had to pack half of it to go.
SPICY FRIED RICE $16- Excellent flavor. Just the right amount of seasoning, veggies-onion and pork belly bits.
Unfortunately, my Waiter/order taker Jennifer breezed by me at least a half-dozen times. Never checked in or asked about my order… eventually I waved her down because my work associate asked me to order some to-go. Then she ‘flew-off’ (and was NEVER seen again).
While waiting and waiting and waiting to catch Jennifer to close out my check, I noticed the continual delivery of small cups of Fries and overhead they are truffle infused french fries. So during one of his delivery and check-on rounds to all in my section… I asked Wait-staffer Omar about them because they are not on the menu.
He looked puzzled and then told me they are “complimentary”. But when I told him I was not offered any, he insisted I take some to-go and immediately packed them up for me ( I told him I was full. But he said they are a “must at least try”).
Finally. At the end, I WALKED OVER to the manager (Ron) and asked him to please see me.
I told him how wonderful his wait staffers (Juan and Omar) are and pointed out each table where they were delivering, doing, taking, cleaning, pouring and slightly interacting with customers…. I suggested that he take a very close look and strongly consider bumping them up (Omar to waiter/order taker and Juan to higher rank server)!!!!
Then, I told him I need my to-go order and asked him to run my card to close out my bill. He apologized for any lack of service and said if I return to ask for him.
Although Half of the food on my bill was To-Go, I still tipped 20% of the Total.
SPECIFICALLY because of Omar and Juan.
Fast Food Feel on a BIG Dime
We really wanted to treat customers to a nice meal while at a convention. The ambiance is mid-range restaurant-ish; open-air and lacking in (again) ambiance, in general. The service was slow, but that was okay. The wine (we ordered two bottles of a pinot from Willamette) was overpriced. Believe me, I know. It was $128/bottle. But, then again, we were entertaining. And, the wine was indeed good. The steaks were good, too. My real problem was in being able to have conversation. The place (as mentioned) is open-air and sound carried terribly. We were also so packed in that I couldn't set my seat back to get out without hitting the person behind me (and I am a slight person). All conversation (from tables, etc.) over-rode each other and that limited our contact/conversation with those at our own table.
Highlight: Good wine (although overpriced)
Lowlight: Not being able to hear people at my own table -
Average Experience For A Steakhouse
Had higher expectations for StripSteak Vegas. I've been to most steakhouses in Vegas and we were staying at The Delano so I had higher expectations. Filet mignon was average and was not garnished with anything, so that's odd. Lobster mashed potatoes were excellent, but chicken piccata was very oily and gamey. A fight broke out in the restaurant between two apparently drunk patrons so we left after quickly asking for the check. Can't recommend.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food and service at the bar
I came here after giving up trying to get decent service at Lupo. I sat at the bar at Stripsteak and Anthony was my bartender/server. He did an excellent job! I had the shrimp cocktail (excellent), the drunken Lobster (good), and the creamed spinach (excellent). Overall, a great experience. I'll be back!

Be the first to ReplyCreative, Tantalizing Fare and Delightful Service!
This contemporary, re-invented steak house has Asian influenced food as well as ambiance. While many of the old-school, throw-back steakhouse items are on the menu, this exciting curation is full of interesting fusions.
First of all, we showed up an hour earlier than our reservation, and they seated us within five minutes, despite how busy the were! Commendable. The service continued to impress, as our server, Stacy, brought complementary fries—which were amazing, and bottomless if you prefer—and continued to be jovial throughout our dinner experience.
Rather than selecting a dry-aged steak (you can see them hanging), we opted for a selection from Michael Mina's eclectic and hyper-creative menu.
We shared a lovely Wedge Salad ($19), which they split for us, amazing Lobster Tacos ($24) , which came in wonton shells with pineapple salsa, perfectly prepared Foie Gras & Pineapple Skewers ($24) with Yakitori glaze, and Instant Bacon ($24), which was actually extremely lean, glazed pork belly topped with a tempura oyster and garnished with rice noodles. The oyster was actually fishy, and the low-light of the meal.
I had a Langeudoc rosé champagne ($18), while my husband enjoyed Martinis ($20), both of which paired very well with meal instead of traditional steakhouse red wines or Sake for Asian cuisine.
To end our most delightful dinner, Stacy brought a complementary dessert, since it was my husband's birthday. It was delicious, but by then we were too satiated to finish even half of it.
STRIPSTEAK is the dining jewel of Mandalay Bay. Except for attending conventions, we never come this far south on the Las Vegas Strip, but we will do so again, just to eat here.
Decent
The steaks were good though a bit pricey. Very casual and friendly and accommodating waitstaff. Had the 7oz filet, cooked perfectly.

We had an amazing experience at STRIPSTEAK. The wait staff was very friendly and informative of the menu items. Our wait time for the food was very reasonable. Food was delicious and cooked perfectly.

Just as awesome as ever. Great wine selection, fantastic service, rib cap steak can’t be beat. This is a place I always look forward to!
Be the first to ReplyDon't go! You've been warned : (
This used to be great...now a huge, expensive disappointment. The minute we walked in there was such a cacophony of noise that we could not hear each other. We were seated near enough to another table that two of us couldn't move our chairs. We ordered from a limited menu and many items that were previously good have been changed for the worse. We ordered several apps and cocktails and when they were consumed we were left for a long time with empty dishes, plates and glasses until we finally asked them to be removed. BFs "rib eye" steak was about 1/4 of an inch thin and pure gristle! Other couple's steak was ordered medium but served rare plus so they sent it back and waited. No apology or concession was offered for that inconvenience. I ordered a pear martini but was given a lemon drop type of martini by mistake. I took a sip of it and thought it was okay and just figured it was what I ordered, but then they told me my drink was a mistake and took it away and brought a replacement that was less than half full, (instead of leaving it? why?) The lights didn't come on in the ladies room even though I tinkered with the switch.
The good? The employees are friendly and beignets are good. Who cares?
This place is a tourist trap. Don't fall for it. That was my last visit.
