Steam Whistle Brewery Biergärten and Taproom Toronto Reviews from The Last Year
Sat down at the bar at 2pm and waited 8 minutes and the bar
Sat down at the bar at 2pm and waited 8 minutes and the bar tender did not even acknowledge me, offer water or take my order. Don't waste your time. First brewpub I have been to that is not interested in serving their beer. If I could give ZERO stars I would.
Such a fun spot! Food was delicious--we tried the garlic
Such a fun spot! Food was delicious--we tried the garlic pretzel, aged cheddar fries and Brussels sprouts. Beer was amazing and staff was kind!
We looked up restaurants near the CN Tower to go for lunch
We looked up restaurants near the CN Tower to go for lunch during a LONG layover in Toronto. I read the Yelp reviews and we decided to give it a try. Fish and chips at a beer place has to be tasty, right? Yes! So crispy and did you see the size of the fish!!! We thought it was an entire haddock! Fries were crispy and hot. The coleslaw was seasoned with dill and cut shoestring style. It was tasty. I do not like sweet coleslaw do I was happy. Everything was reasonably priced, our server was pleasant and we enjoyed the break. Yes, you should go and a bonus you get a little train history outside of the building too.
Amazing atmosphere.
.we were outdoors and taking in the best of Toronto. There's always so much happening here..we saw across CN Tower..TIFF was playing around the corner from us. The area is transformed into beautiful boardwalk and hang out spots. Just gorgeous to be an an outdoor restaurant in the area. The food was good and we enjoyed it with good company.
Cliff hanger ?
After visit in the CN Tower, we search for a place to have snacks and a beer on approaching the beer garden. It looks very appealing surrounded by train memorabilia on entering the garden.a very polite and friendly young lady offered us a menu and we had some amazing banter we sat down next to a carriage it was a very warm and busy day straightaway. We were approached by a happy waiter and more banter was exchanged and this conversation saw us order a chicken salad and a plate of large bicep and tricep style, chicken wings, and of course to fruit shandy one lemon and one grape fruit The meal was delicious. I had the chicken wings and they were cooked perfectly and they are filled me up and tasted lovely. It was a lovely sunny day and that encourage me to have another grapefruit shandy The whole experience was amazing The banter from the staff was good. The food was amazing The position of the beer garden overlooked the CN Tower, which was fantastic, but unfortunately the cliffhanger is after finishing my meal as I use my fingers too rip apart the wings I had very sticky greasy hands and I asked the , the waiter if I may use the toilet/bathroom to wash my hands. I was told they had no bathroom facilities Which is appalling, especially as we’ve just left a very precarious Covid situation and all I was offered was some dry paper towels, so I left the facility with sticky hands which I had to pay with my credit card so my credit card and wallet was sticky and so was my phone so on the whole an amazing place to go but does need hand wash and facilities Simon matthews
Nice lunchtime spot
Ate here after excellent wander through Ripleys Aquarium- across the road in the Toronto Railway museum. Nice outdoor seating area, plenty of outdoor tables. Also easily cater to families with tiny tots & babies. Lotsa good beer & wine choices . Nice beer garden style menu with a hint of german fare. Had the curry bratwurst saussie on a bun , very german. Last time had one was in Germany in 2009. Better half had the fish & chips Great service , great food - nothing flashy and reasonably priced. Recommend
We arrived at the CN Tower tour a little early, and we had
We arrived at the CN Tower tour a little early, and we had some time to kill. We wanted to grab a snack and a beer after an unsatisfying sandwich at Elm Street Deli. Steam Whistle was across the street, had good reviews, and looked inviting with its outdoor seating. We had a pretzel and some beer. The pretzel was very good. It was moist & chewy, and went well w/ the dipping sauces. Likewise, the beer was refreshing and cool on a hot summer day. Regarding the ambiance, there is indoor & outdoor seating. This is a large place. Our waitress was really nice & friendly, like most people in Canada. If you are looking for a place before & after a tour at CN Tower, Steam Whistle is the perfect place. I believe Rogers Centre where the Blue Jays play is also nearby, so its a good place before a ball game also.
First time visiting Toronto and we were looking for a quick
First time visiting Toronto and we were looking for a quick bite. We did have to wait for our seat since they were busy but their drinks and food were delicious. We got the fish and burger- both were so filling but we couldn't stop eating lol! Definitely recommend this place. The menu wasn't too pleasant for me because of limitations that I have but my friends were big fans of it. Again, I would definitely make a stop here if you haven't already and the ambiance is really cute as well. In the middle of downtown but not overly crowded- they have outdoor seating as well for those who just want to grab some drinks (which is great if you don't want to wait on the list to dine in/grab bites)
Stopped at Steam Whistle on the second day of my bachelor
Stopped at Steam Whistle on the second day of my bachelor party. I'd been there before on previous trips and it was already one of our favorite stops in Toronto, but this trip blew all the previous ones out of the water. Staff was very helpful getting our large party seated inside and out of the rain. The food and drinks were great as always, but our waitress Amelia was the MVP. Not only did she provide solid recommendations for the rest of our weekend in Toronto, but she hooked us up with a gift from Steam Whistle as a "sponsor" for the bachelor party. Great weekend highlighted by a perfect lunch, and we'll always stop back at Steam Whistle whenever we're in the city.
One of the best meals I've had in Toronto.
So when we arrived it was packed about an hour before a blue jays game. We waited about 25 mins and were seated outside. The service was pretty slow as it took over an hour and there was nobody left when we finished, our waitress seemed like she couldn't care less. The reason for the 5 stars is the food is just that good. I got the smoked and brined chicken and garlic potatoes. The chicken was super juicy and the potatoes were the most garlicky dish I've ever had. It's a normal beer garden with benches and umbrellas. It's worth a try even if you don't drink.
Stopped here twice while in town.
Went once with my teenage daughter on a Thursday night and again the next night with my wife and daughter before a Jays game. My daughter really enjoyed the food and I enjoyed some drinks so much so that we came back with my wife when she got into town. Friendly staff and a really cool building in a great location.
Excellent!!
Went to the biergarten during a Jay's Game, the beer was amazing and the food was excellent. The servers Zac and Corey were excellent an took care of us!! Love Steam Whistle!!!
Disappointing
Food was OK but no more aside from the soft pretzel. The music level was prreventing people from having a nice conversation and the air conditioning was way too high.
We found this place across from the CN tower.
The ambience is neat being a former train station. The servers were friendly and helpful. The unfiltered Pilsner was a little sweeter as described. The brats were great. The pork chop was really huge. The chicken shawarma was also tasty. Overall the food tasted light and healthy. Definitely recommend
Good place to eat prior to a Blue Jays game
My wife and I had a late lunch prior to attending the Blue Jays game. Since it was a showery day, seating was limited to indoors and the restaurant was quite crowded. The beer selection was limited but the unfiltered pilsner was refreshing and a winner ! We had fish and chips and a curry bratwurst. The bratwurst was unique and I really enjoyed the flavor profile. The fish and chips consisted of a large piece of fish and it was very well cooked. We would recommend this restaurant and if the weather allows it would be wonderful to sit outside and enjoy the historic roundhouse environment.
Nice outdoor pub in Summer
This is a traditional beer place in Toronto, however, if you don't drink beer, they also have good food in the summertime. I liked their outdoor patio and recommend it.
a positive outing for lunch $$
Walked over after aquarium visit and was not disappointed . Quality food at steep prices. Quantities were good so I rate value to be "not bad".. Good selection and lots of beer options for sure. Servers were efficient, helpful, energetic and friendly. Five of us ran just over $200. Overall it was a positive outing and I will return.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.
Worked perfectly, thank you!
This is a crazy holiday season in NYC and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that AppointmentTrader works! Will be using again!
Worked flawlessly!
Worked so well! I was a bit nervous, but everything went very smoothly. purchased the reservation, and got into the restaurant seamlessly.

So glad I came across this app :)
Quick table in Miami
I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here
Prime time, great meal
So easy and had a prime time which I can never seem to get on normal res apps. So worth it
Got impossible NYC res

Worked perfectly to get into Carbone. So delighted
perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
