Salumi Seattle Reviews from The Last Year
I used to eat at Salumi when they were in a tiny
I used to eat at Salumi when they were in a tiny hole-in-the-wall twenty years ago with my young children. They are still making great cured meats and sandwiches to put them in. I had the Grindhouse sandwich. The balance between the meat and cheese with the acid of the pickles and mustard was perfect! The bread was very fresh. The sandwich was made in about three minutes. This place still rocks.
Best Sandwich place ever! Their soups are great too but
Best Sandwich place ever! Their soups are great too but seriously totally worth the $16-$18 price for a sandwich!!! THE. BEST!
Awesome sandwich! Ordered online and it was ready on time
Awesome sandwich! Ordered online and it was ready on time - picked up the order and walked over to the king street station and enjoyed our lunch on the Amtrak train!! Great hack for heading out of town, have the Uber drop you at the sandwich spot, it's only a couple blocks from the station! Cubano and spicy salami sandwiches were delicious.
Absolutely amazing sandwiches.
Fresh ingredients and worth a visit every time I'm in the city. I dream about their meatball sub and muffuletta. Fast service, too! Just make sure you check they haven't sold out before heading over as they only make a limited amount of goodies each day which explains how they're so fresh and with such high quality.
Love the hearty sandwiches here.
Whichever sandwich you chill not go wrong especially if you enjoy well prepared protein. We had the Cubano and porchetta. They are very flavorful and Definitely bring your appetite. One of the best sandwich places in seattle!! Also wanted to point out that this is a Women owned business.
Thankful there was no wait.
.... but I would have! This place rocks! I believe they pickle their own veggies and do something extra special with the meats. The cold cut sandy was everything. Add a cookie and you have a perfect lunch Love the old school eat in bar with stools. Everyone was super friendly. Don't forget to recycle your rubber bands ;)
Near Pioneer Square, Kings Station, and Lumen Field, Salumi
Near Pioneer Square, Kings Station, and Lumen Field, Salumi is a very famous shop serving up a small selection of cold and hot sandwiches in a very efficient manner. There is a bit of history with Salumi in Seattle, and was made even more famous by Anthony Bourdain in one of his 'No Reservations' episodes in 2007. Obviously a lot has changed since then, so was a bit sad that I couldn't make it earlier. But we were able to make it a priority on our last Seattle trip, and came on a Saturday afternoon. Parking is tough in the area, with most street parking requiring payment on weekdays and Saturday (free on Sunday and nights). It's a big space inside for the open kitchen, with a few tables on the sides. One places and pays for their order through one kiosk, which you have to stand in line for. The sandwiches were made to go, and were ready in about 10 minutes. We ended up ordering 3 sandwiches to share, all on the same good ciabatta bread: Cubano ($16) -good taste, especially the porchetta. It was served warm, and probably the best of the 3 sandwiches. Grindhouse ($16) - probably close to being an Italian sub, with mortadella. It tasted OK. Muffuletta ($16) - the least favorite of the sandwiches...not served on muffuletta bread, but had a good spread of olive tapenade (very finely diced olives). Every sandwich was expertly made and wrapped to go, but the meat quantity and bread size was a bit disappointing for the price.
hands down the best eggplant parm I've ever eaten.
I got one yesterday with added peppers (and jalapeños?) and it was amazing. I'm not vegetarian but the eggplant parm is my go to. do yourself a favor and try it (I've had at least 50 eggplant Parms from Salumi at the time of writing this review, btw )
Wonderful little gem in the middle of no man's land.
Pioneer Square is one of Seattles oldest neighborhoods with turn of the century brick buildings. After our Seattle underground tour my husband just wanted a sandwich. We found Salumi on Yelp. The place is clean with cheerful staff. We ordered the meatball sandwich which was huge!!!! And I ordered a Salumi sandwich which was good but I preferred the baguette used in the meatball sandwich. The baguette is outstanding! It's fun and was nostalgic for me. We had Italian sandwich places like this growing up in North Beach San Francisco when it really was an Italian hood.
My friend wanted to get a sandwich at Salumi.
This has happened to me multiple times, but this time I was interested in purchasing my own sandwich. While I've worked in the area for 9 years this was my first time eating at Salumi. I ordered online through Toast app and she ordered online through google. My estimated ready time was fifteen minutes before hers even though she submitted her order first. I received my order ten minutes later than when she received hers. My sandwich was a meatball sub, which is why it took longer. I feel like the workers are literally giving their all and the shop is very busy all the time and they do a fantastic job of fulfilling every order. I would say the shop is too small for the number of people that are in there at lunchtime but they continue to make it work. So if it's not broken why fix it? My sandwich was delicious. Because the sauce sat on the bread before I was able to eat it there were some soggy parts but it was not world ending. I want to try their Kale Caesar next time!
Salumi used to be my favorite lunch place.
I've been here hundreds of times until a few years ago. I'm sad to report, the salami sandwiches are not good anymore. The bread is below average, unlike the previous bread that was used (Giuseppe I think?) The sandwiches are less than half the size of the previous incarnation and instead of nicely packing the salamis in the sandwich, it's just piled in a stack. At least there's no wait for the sandwiches anymore. It used to take 30+ minutes at the old store - now there are no lines and it's quite obvious why.
I had the AUTUMN SQUASH (VEGETARIAN).
It was excellent. The service was fast enough. I like the the sandwich was not your typical veggie sandwich. I recall the staff was pleasant enough.
Just the best.
Sandwiches are amazing. Definitely need to make it a priority for any trip
The best sandwich of my trip
This is the sandwich shop we all wished we had near our homes/office. The guys running the place are super nice and friendly. And the sandwich was off the charts -- full of meats and condiments. It was truly amazing. Thank you.
Quite a find....
We had this place recommended by "Beneath the Streets" and weren't disappointed. "Simple" food to take out or eat in, freshly prepared and cheerfully served
Terrible
Terrible! Nothing italian about this place. Sandwich was soaking in oil. Terribly expensive, 15$ for a small sandwich
Open Deli on Sunday!
Very personable and places to sit inside & out. Looking for a deli on the way to the Game, In the second part of Pioneer Square, right here! Delicious & worth the wait! Be forewarned, the Porchetta Sandwich is good but wet! Wear a bib or eat over the paper!

Ask a Question |
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue? |
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
