I used to eat at Salumi when they were in a tiny hole-in-the-wall twenty years ago with my young children. They are still making great cured meats and sandwiches to put them in. I had the Grindhouse sandwich. The balance between the meat and cheese with the acid of the pickles and mustard was perfect! The bread was very fresh. The sandwich was made in about three minutes. This place still rocks.

Best Sandwich place ever! Their soups are great too but seriously totally worth the $16-$18 price for a sandwich!!! THE. BEST!
Be the first to ReplyAwesome sandwich! Ordered online and it was ready on time
Awesome sandwich! Ordered online and it was ready on time - picked up the order and walked over to the king street station and enjoyed our lunch on the Amtrak train!! Great hack for heading out of town, have the Uber drop you at the sandwich spot, it's only a couple blocks from the station! Cubano and spicy salami sandwiches were delicious.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely amazing sandwiches.
Fresh ingredients and worth a visit every time I'm in the city. I dream about their meatball sub and muffuletta. Fast service, too! Just make sure you check they haven't sold out before heading over as they only make a limited amount of goodies each day which explains how they're so fresh and with such high quality.
Be the first to ReplyLove the hearty sandwiches here.
Whichever sandwich you chill not go wrong especially if you enjoy well prepared protein. We had the Cubano and porchetta. They are very flavorful and Definitely bring your appetite. One of the best sandwich places in seattle!! Also wanted to point out that this is a Women owned business.
Be the first to ReplyThankful there was no wait.
.... but I would have! This place rocks! I believe they pickle their own veggies and do something extra special with the meats. The cold cut sandy was everything. Add a cookie and you have a perfect lunch Love the old school eat in bar with stools. Everyone was super friendly. Don't forget to recycle your rubber bands ;)
Be the first to ReplyNear Pioneer Square, Kings Station, and Lumen Field, Salumi
Near Pioneer Square, Kings Station, and Lumen Field, Salumi is a very famous shop serving up a small selection of cold and hot sandwiches in a very efficient manner. There is a bit of history with Salumi in Seattle, and was made even more famous by Anthony Bourdain in one of his 'No Reservations' episodes in 2007. Obviously a lot has changed since then, so was a bit sad that I couldn't make it earlier. But we were able to make it a priority on our last Seattle trip, and came on a Saturday afternoon. Parking is tough in the area, with most street parking requiring payment on weekdays and Saturday (free on Sunday and nights). It's a big space inside for the open kitchen, with a few tables on the sides. One places and pays for their order through one kiosk, which you have to stand in line for. The sandwiches were made to go, and were ready in about 10 minutes. We ended up ordering 3 sandwiches to share, all on the same good ciabatta bread: Cubano ($16) -good taste, especially the porchetta. It was served warm, and probably the best of the 3 sandwiches. Grindhouse ($16) - probably close to being an Italian sub, with mortadella. It tasted OK. Muffuletta ($16) - the least favorite of the sandwiches...not served on muffuletta bread, but had a good spread of olive tapenade (very finely diced olives). Every sandwich was expertly made and wrapped to go, but the meat quantity and bread size was a bit disappointing for the price.
Be the first to Replyhands down the best eggplant parm I've ever eaten.
I got one yesterday with added peppers (and jalapeños?) and it was amazing. I'm not vegetarian but the eggplant parm is my go to. do yourself a favor and try it (I've had at least 50 eggplant Parms from Salumi at the time of writing this review, btw )
Be the first to ReplyWonderful little gem in the middle of no man's land.
Pioneer Square is one of Seattles oldest neighborhoods with turn of the century brick buildings. After our Seattle underground tour my husband just wanted a sandwich. We found Salumi on Yelp. The place is clean with cheerful staff. We ordered the meatball sandwich which was huge!!!! And I ordered a Salumi sandwich which was good but I preferred the baguette used in the meatball sandwich. The baguette is outstanding! It's fun and was nostalgic for me. We had Italian sandwich places like this growing up in North Beach San Francisco when it really was an Italian hood.
Be the first to ReplyMy friend wanted to get a sandwich at Salumi.
This has happened to me multiple times, but this time I was interested in purchasing my own sandwich. While I've worked in the area for 9 years this was my first time eating at Salumi. I ordered online through Toast app and she ordered online through google. My estimated ready time was fifteen minutes before hers even though she submitted her order first. I received my order ten minutes later than when she received hers. My sandwich was a meatball sub, which is why it took longer. I feel like the workers are literally giving their all and the shop is very busy all the time and they do a fantastic job of fulfilling every order. I would say the shop is too small for the number of people that are in there at lunchtime but they continue to make it work. So if it's not broken why fix it? My sandwich was delicious. Because the sauce sat on the bread before I was able to eat it there were some soggy parts but it was not world ending. I want to try their Kale Caesar next time!
Be the first to ReplySalumi used to be my favorite lunch place.
I've been here hundreds of times until a few years ago. I'm sad to report, the salami sandwiches are not good anymore. The bread is below average, unlike the previous bread that was used (Giuseppe I think?) The sandwiches are less than half the size of the previous incarnation and instead of nicely packing the salamis in the sandwich, it's just piled in a stack. At least there's no wait for the sandwiches anymore. It used to take 30+ minutes at the old store - now there are no lines and it's quite obvious why.
Be the first to ReplyI had the AUTUMN SQUASH (VEGETARIAN).
It was excellent. The service was fast enough. I like the the sandwich was not your typical veggie sandwich. I recall the staff was pleasant enough.
Be the first to ReplyJust the best.
Sandwiches are amazing. Definitely need to make it a priority for any trip
Be the first to ReplyWhen they moved and changed owners I was worried but
When they moved and changed owners I was worried but everything changes. For a while they were recognizable enough and they addition of online ordering was very welcome. Now though that the Giuseppe bread has been replaced with something that seems like what I could buy in the grocery store as well as the loss of half sandwich orders, I think I'm done. You can't even buy sliced meat anymore! I suppose it's pretty good if you're in the neighborhood and want to get something to eat and I bet the tourists find it up to reputation, but certainly not what it was. If I hear they've brought back proper Giuseppe bread I'll give them another try, but probably not otherwise. Did they change owners again? I think they made a mistake on the bread update.
Be the first to ReplyHad the Italian Roast Pork Special today.
Was just put on the menu for all to enjoy. Was a great sandwich! Very flavorful loaded with meat. Loved it!

Be the first to ReplySalumi always makes me wish I visited this part of Seattle
Salumi always makes me wish I visited this part of Seattle more often. They've moved, not far, and have been acquired by new owners who, thankfully, appear committed to maintaining quality. The new location seems to have better parking options nearby, and my most recent visit did not seem as crowded, perhaps because the new location feels somewhat roomier than the old one.My visits have been far enough apart that I don't have a specific menu item that's a must-have. But, I've always been wowed by whatever I've ordered. To paraphrase the great Warren Zevon, you will enjoy every sandwich.
Be the first to ReplySadly our recent visit was just okay.
We have been big fans of Salumi for many years. The meatball sub was one of my family's favorites. We always enjoyed knowing that anything on the menu was fresh and delicious. We would all try to get something different and share. But the meatball sub was always the favorite. Unfortunately we were away from Seattle for a few years and just returned. One of our first outings was a visit to Salumi. The new location does offer more room. But the atmosphere has gone from being a genuine experience with an artisan feel to just being a sandwich shop. Salumi was first and foremost a business that cured their own meats and were experts of their product. They just happened to know how to use their product to make great sandwiches. The sandwiches were basic assemblies but were delicious and caused you not to question the long line or limited dining space. On our recent visit they were a little busy but the long line was gone. We had our sandwiches quickly. They were disappointing not in comparison to other sandwiches in Seattle but in comparison to the original Salumi. We all ended up only tasting the meatball subs and no one bothered to finish them. The other three sandwiches were okay but not great. Not the style of sandwich we would eat regularly. We are going to drop Salumi from our list of favorites and just remember the very genuine past version of Salumi fondly.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing sandwiches with high quality ingredients.
Bought every type of cold salami sandwich and enjoyed them all but loved the spicy soppresatta best. The garlic herb rub they used was money!

Be the first to ReplyHad the Cubano and it was delicious.
High quality, highly recommend. Each sandwich ingredient and the bread itself was very fresh.
Be the first to ReplyHands down, best quality sandwich shop in the city.
Any of the Legacy sandwiches are always a go to; however, the Cubano is the best sandwich this side or the Rockies.Friendly staff and rustic atmosphere.
Be the first to ReplyThis place is amazing.
I can go back so many times. And try everything on menu. I am so happy that I discovered it. They have good flavors, amazing vibe and excellent service. The inside and outside seating, both are an experience.

I am admittedly not a deli meats lover, but I was pleasantly surprised by Salumi! Decided to stop by around lunch on a Saturday while in the Pioneer Square Historic district to enjoy the views and try one of Seattle's most famous sandwich shops.I ended up getting two sandwiches from their normal menu (they also have seasonal specials that rotate year-round):* the braised porchetta (hot sandwich): 3.5/5. Generous portion of meat, and the spread was quite tasty! I wanted a bit more flavor from the pork shoulder as well though.* muffo (cold sandwich): 4/5. Really flavorful meats! A nice kick from a chili spread as well. Definitely my favorite of the two.Prices are high (~$16-18 per sandwich) but the portions are huge. If you're eating alone, I recommend that you get two halves to get some variety in flavor. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Seattle!
Be the first to ReplyThere aren't many [good] Italian sandwich joints in Seattle
There aren't many [good] Italian sandwich joints in Seattle but fortunately, I have this gem right by my workplace. Unfortunately, I will constantly have the post-lunch sleepies. Salumi is my favorite sandwich spot in Seattle for many reasons; the quality of their cured meats being at the top. Their portions are also very generous - I can barely finish a half sandwich! I ordered the half Salumi Muffo through DoorDash and it did not disappoint. Although there is usually a long in person wait, a scheduled ahead order via food delivery app will save you some time!
