Il Terrazzo Carmine Seattle Reviews from The Last Year

We went here before going to a show, valet parking at the building next door, which was great. Very attentive and friendly staff, knowledgeable in the menu and the ins and outs of the specials, wines, etc. It was busy and the right kind of noise level to feel like you were in the right place to get a good meal. I would encourage anyone to ask about the sizing of the pastas because if you want to get salads and or appetizers as well you might not need the large size, but if you like to share with your partner or group, then they have you covered. Everything was prepared with care and plated so nice without being pretentious. The lobster pappardelle was so rich with seafood flavor and large amount of lobster meat but very light. The scallops melted in your mouth and went well with the corn risotto. Both were ever so sweet. Amazing crème brûlée with coffees to end the meal. Would highly recommend!

We picked this place from a few articles talking about Seattle's best restaurants, and decided to celebrate my husband's birthday here. The experience was AMAZING! The staff was friendly, professional and catered to my request for a quiet and corner table. The whole ambiance feels classy, warm and elegant. We got here at 5pm and by 5:30 the restaurant already started to fill up. We chose a few dishes from the Specials: Grilled Peach Salad (peach so juicy and walnuts roasted to perfection!), pappardelle with lobster sauce (very generous portion of lobster claw meat!), and saffron risotto with Manila clams (fatty clam and saffron juice coating every grain of rice!). The food portion is generous. We were able to clear all our plates even after eating two full baskets of bread lol. The staff even brought a tiramisu cake for us to celebrate the birthday, which is a really nice surprise. We still decided to order cannoli with pistachio as dessert. It is good but not as impressive as the free tiramisu lol. Overall we really enjoyed ourselves and highly recommend to anyone who loves Italian food in an upscale setting.
Excellent food and wonderful service.
A traditional white tablecloth Italian restaurant. I look forward to coming back!
We love the food and atmosphere at Carmines.
It has been our go to for a special dinner for years. We hope that our recent experience was a one off, because we did not have the service that we had come to expect. We like a leisurely pace, we had to flag our waiter down numerous times, and were waiting a long time to catch his eye to order. We were disappointed in service but the food can't be beat!
Exceptional service & food. Highly recommend reservation, even for weekday.
Our server last week was Joe and he was without a doubt one of the most professional and seamless servers we've ever experienced. His supporting folks were also good. Joe was an absolute pro. Super stealthy in keeping our meal on time and making sure we were all happy without being intrusive. We had the risotto with sirloin and mushroom, pasta e fagioli soup, pear salad and red velvet cake. The risotto was perfect and the ultimate comfort food for a cool Seattle evening. Loved the soup and salad. Cake was good if a bit heavy on the frosting. A lovely & lengthy wine list- - priced on the higher side but not out of line with what other restaurants charge.. The corkage fee is $35 FYI. Some tables a little close together. They don't charge any additional fees which we were grateful for since several high end restaurants in Seattle do this, and it only makes for confusion and extra time to calculate an appropriate tip. Overall absolutely recommend.
Makes you feel as if you are in some Italian grandmas
Makes you feel as if you are in some Italian grandmas kitchen waiting for a meal. It has a very older home vibe to it. I have gone here twice and found the pastas delicious as you can really taste the difference of house made pasta and not. They had gluten free pasta which is the main reason we had gone here as a friend has celiac. The service was okay as we did run out of water for a bit. Overall a nice place though.
My experience here was absolutely DIVINE.
Came with my best friend to Seattle and after much deliberation, decided on Il Terrazzo Carmine for our send-off dinner. That said, couldn't have been happier with our decision. The location was a little bit tricky to find since it's in something that resembles an office building- but the restaurant itself is beautiful and warmly-lit. The menu is super classic Italian. Loved the wide selection of dishes, and the flexibility to get smaller portions of pastas. Our server, Ryan, was OUTSTANDING. We were a bit indecisive but he provided excellent recommendations and helped us plan our dinner so we'd get to try the right dishes, in the right portions, in the correct order. We started with the Dungeness crab bruschetta- this was SO GOOD. The crab was incredibly fresh, and a wonderfully bright start to the meal. Our next course was the risotto with crab, shaved zucchini, and folded in mascarpone. This was just absolutely fantastic. The texture of the risotto was perfectly creamy and it was so satisfying finding lumps of crab in it. Our third course was the Linguine di vongole. The clams, again, tasted super fresh and I loved having visible slices of garlic in the sauce. The hint of tomato balanced everything out and we nearly licked the bowl clean. Once we were done with the savories, Ryan brought out an impressive looking tray of dessert options. We decided on the crème brûlée which, of course, was nothing short of perfection. Overall, even though I was exhausted from my trip, I couldn't be more happy with the meal I chose to end it with.
A little crowded, but a very good menu very well prepared.
recommend getting reservations. Especially for the evening.
This is one of my 3 go-to places for a nice meal in Seattle.
I primarily come here for lunch where I usually order the NY steak with a side of the Spaghetti Aglio E Olio, which is the best! On this visit, we each ordered the Chilean Sea Bass with mushrooms and a side of the Aglio E Olio, so many good things on one plate. We sat at one of the tables in the bar area, which was intimate and quiet. Our server kept our drinks filled and was quite attentive. The service and the food never disappoint. As Wendi K says 'The crusty bread and butter is impeccable.' The bread comes from Grand Central Bakery and is specifically made for Il Terrazzo and is served warm. Of course, I had to try their new flourless chocolate cake that comes with a side of vanilla ice cream. It was a great way to finish off our meal!

The Italian food here is absolutely delicious and the service is excellent. I had the glazed pork chop and it was incredible.
The Old Standard
Still the standard for a great meal, old school service and a beautiful lively dining room that you can still hear everyone across a large table. A meal here feels like a special occasion.
Wonderful food, beautiful ambiance, friendly staff
Nothing bad to say about this excellent and inviting restaurant. It is always a stellar experience. Staff are always welcoming and attentive. Food is consistently wonderful. There is not a bad seat in the house.
Wow, Just Wow
The decor of the restaurant is a bit dated but that is about the only possible compliant. The service and food was outstanding. It was pretty close to a flawless meal. Gnocchi was one of the best I have ever had. Wine list was not overly deep but there were many eclectic choices available. Would dine here again anytime I am back in Seattle.
