Founding Farmers Tysons Vienna Reviews from The Last Year
Great brunch spot! I met some friends here for a goodbye
Great brunch spot! I met some friends here for a goodbye brunch on a Saturday morning, and the food was great, seating was spacious, even with it being very busy during weekend brunch. The buffet area wasn't very big, though, and you walk through it right to left, which was a little confusing at first. Not my favorite of the chain's restaurants, but it was still a pretty good experience nonetheless. Great staff, too!
Not the Way to Start the Day
Went to Founding Fathers for a late weekday breakfast. The majority of the customers were business people. Been there, done that, but not anymore. To communicate with our group, you almost had yell. Very poor acoustics. Service was prompt. We ordered two eggs Benedict, brioche French toast, two orange juices and a coffee. Results: No spoon for the coffee; OJ was served room temperature (maybe that’s normal, but we like our OJ chilled; the brioche French toast was similar to slices of cake; the eggs Benedict was served with English muffins that you would couldn’t cut. I should have brought my reciprocating saw. In lieu of Canadian bacon, regular ham was substituted. The hash browns appeared to be pre packaged and they too were difficult to cut in sections for consumption. The restaurant is very appealing upon entry. Unfortunately, the food failed to measure up.
The food was amazing.
Happy hour had some great choices. The wings were good, I was not in love with the Brie appetizer. The cornbread was good.
Food was literally tasteless.
Ordered the pomodoro with herb chicken, when I tell you it had no salt or pepper whatsoever (the chicken and the sauce). Chicken was beyond dry as well. I had to add salt pepper and other things just to be able to eat it. Not sure if the person cooking today doesn't believe in flavor, but this was beyond disappointing. The pastries were great.

We made a reservation here for a team meal and we had to wait 30 minutes after our reservation time to be seated. I'm not sure if it was a busy night or if that's normal but just FYI if you have a reservation. I kicked the meal off with a spicy margarita. I'm an avid margarita drinker, and I am a custom to ordering them spicy. This was not a drink that was listed on their menu, but they were willing to make spicy wasn't spicy at all. For my entrée, I opted for the chicken and waffles and elected to the chicken Cajun spicy style. Again this chicken was not spicy. I'm not sure if we have different degrees of what constitutes something being spicy but that was not it. The waffles were cooked well and I really enjoyed the gravy that came with the meal, their chicken and waffles come with gravy and a syrup both were really good! The star of this meal without a doubt was the cronut! I'm not sure if with the official name is on the menu, but essentially it's a croissant and doughnut put together. I opted to get mine filled with a banana foster cream! I am not kidding you when I say this cronut was one of the best items I've ever eaten in my life! Literal flavor, bomb status! Overall, my experience here was mixed.I'm not sure I'll be back for dinner but I will without a doubt be back for my cronuts!!

Maybe my expectations were too high! We did not enjoy our dining experience at all Food was sub par nothing special at all service was poor 2 of us got our food first.. it was 15-20 minutes before our other friends food came out and it was cold! We told the manager and she truly sounded like she could care less! You win some you lose some This was a lost.

While it has a nice ambiance, the food is nothing but a glorified, overpriced IHOP (apologies to IHOP but at least you know what you're getting for 1/3 of the price). The steak frites was tough and loaded with salt as though that would make up for the lack of flavor. Lastly, I understand staffing is difficult but training can go a long way. My entree came out while I was barely half way through my salad which was nothing to write home about. If you must go, stick to the meatloaf. I can't imagine they could screw that up.
I was really disappointed in this visit.
I had a Founding Farmers in Tysons. We went out to dinner here for my brothers birthday. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. But the food was subpar. My mom ended up ordering the risotto, but it was severely under cooked and very crunchy. I always order the gnocchi, but at this location it just didn't taste, right. I prefer going to the Location in Potomac.

I absolutely love this place! It offers a cute and classy ambiance that immediately sets a positive tone for the dining experience. The service is consistently good, attentive without being intrusive. As for the food, the seafood is remarkably fresh and the wings are delicious, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. I come here mainly for the shrimp salad and the wings, it's always a hit. I highly recommend visiting if you're in the mood for great food in a lovely setting.
The cheddar cheeseburger was pretty good; some of the best
The cheddar cheeseburger was pretty good; some of the best buns I've ever had for a burger. The staff was good for the lunch hour, with slight wait to get parking validated. One less star because our party got three cronuts, and each of us thought it could have been better, perhaps more fresh.

Took a little trip up to Tysons to do some Christmas shopping and stopped in at @foundingfarmers Tysons. I got the shrimp and crab risotto . The dish featured a generous heaping of large chunks of crab meat sprinkled atop several large and flavorful shrimp. Underneath it all lay a perfectly cooked mound of creamy risotto with wild mushrooms and lemon herb cream. Highly recommend for a great comfort food meal on a cold day .
Overall Good, But Room for Improvement
I've eaten at three Founding Farmers in the area, most recently at Tysons Corner VA. Overall, the place has some of strengths but also room for improvement. The atmosphere is very nice and comfortable, and I've found the service to be good. But, for the money -- I paid about $50 per person for dinner ($300 for 6 people) which included a mixed drink/beer/wine, dessert and tip -- it falls well short of excellent. The food is good, but not great. The entre chicken salad was very good. But my dining party reported that they had enjoyed better ribs, seafood, and enchiladas elsewhere. The desserts were OK - but I've had tastier carrot cake elsewhere, the coconut cream pie was bland, and a milkshake ordered by a companion missed the flavor completely. So, overall, we expected more from the food. One other very specific comment -- and if you don't care about eggplant parm stop reading. But the eggplant parm was way off the mark. It was tough, stringy, and required a knife and repeated cutting. I hate to say it, but it was easily the worst I've ever had - not even close to how that dish should be prepared. So some friendly advice to Founding Farmers: learn how to cook that dish -- how to let it cook slowly and soften the eggplant so it cuts with just a fork -- or drop it from the menu. This isn't the place to get that dish, and I should have known better. I think they're trying to cover too much in their menu. Overall, I still give the place a 3.5 to 4.0 (max) because it has a nice atmosphere, the service is usually fast, they have some healthy choices, and they seem to try. But there is room to improve, and the value for the money is not quite there.
Easy on a Sunday Morning
My family went to Tyson's Corner location early afternoon on a Sunday. Good thing we made reservations because place was packed. We only waited a few minutes for the table. Very nice and relaxing atmosphere. Server was very amiable and efficient. Food was tasty. My only negative is the food was slow to be replenished. Would definitely return here.
Valentine's weekend dinner
The place was packed, yet service was decent. The beef stew was delicious, though the beef was quite fatty. The spicy fried chicken was perfect. Avoid the hibiscus juice, it tasted like water. Double chocolate cheesecake for dessert!!! Overall a very nice meal.
Terrible! A waste of money...
The ribeye was a terrible cut of meat. Really subpar service and food quality. Also, we made a reservation for 6:00pm. We arrived at 5:50pm. Our appetizers came out quickly. The entree came out so quick, we did not have time to finish the appetizers. The waitress had difficulty understanding us...as a result, we did not receive desserts we wanted. I understand if the restaurant ran out of cheesecake and carrot cake by 7:15pm. But, we were not offered anything else as a substitution. As we were leaving, we saw that they in fact HAD other desserts! The only items that were offered to us was a box of chocolate (for my sister) and a voucher for a future dessert (for me). Finally, the waitress was so slow throughout the meal, we did not leave until 8pm!! I almost got up to ask for our bill. Overall this experience was very dissappointing.
always good but needs a renovation
Founding Farmers is looking a bit worn but the food was on point and the service was great. They ran out of almost every dessert but our server brought us 2 togo boxes of chocolate on the house so we were pleased.
It had so much promise!
Started out decent for a late weekend lunch. Beautiful country chic restaurant and a pleasant waitress. Then we find out they have NO food options for children. We were offered an adult burger and fries. Ok so now we get the vibe they are upscale and better than having a kids menu. I grab a room temp draft beer that arrives in a freshly washed warm glass. Ok so they don’t like alcohol or kids… got it! Then my friends notice floating pieces of old food in both of our water jugs at the table. Then I get my small Ceaser salad and herb chicken (I believe the thinly cut breast works after hours with a cobbler as it was a close relative of shoe leather) which was pretty decent just not for $21.50 (Shoe leather was a $7.50 up sell) others had a veggie burger which was decent. A sandwich and the wrong soup which seemed to be met with buyers remorse. So.. they don’t like kids, alcohol, water or comprehension of orders. Thank goodness they tack on the extra 5% fee for the mental wellbeing of employees. It’s not like they had wiggle room on the profit from the $21 small salad. For my mental health, I’m gonna eat somewhere else next time.
AWFUL EXPERIENCE AT FOUNDING FARMERS
AWFUL SERVICE AND FOOD! Being a vegetarian, I asked about the expensive ($20+) "Many Vegetable" salad. The server said he did not know what was in it. I got it anyway. It was romaine lettuce, 5 each of corn kernels, canneli beans and a hard boiled egg. That was it. It took forever to get. The french fries were cold and had pieces of charred chicken in them. No more Founding Farmers for me! And a wellness fee?
Check your bill for added charge for employee benefits! Scam!
Food and service were fine, but when I got the bill they added 5% on for "wellness program!" The cost of employee benefits should be included in the bill not tacked onto the total at the bottom. Next thing you know they will tack on heat, or napkins, or other costs of doing business. Cheap Trick to get more money out of your wallet. Shame on you!
Awesome
We had our Christmas brunch with our family today. Awesome customer service and awesome food. Very close to everything.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.

Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
