Craft New York Reviews from The Last Year
Lengthy wait spoiled the experience
A terrible wait time completely undermined what would have otherwise been a good experience: we liked the staff very much and the food was excellent but we waited over an hour - and the restaurant was pretty empty - without either an apology or an explanation offered. Disappointing as had been highly recommended and waiting aside was great. The scallops were superb.
Outstanding food, excellent service! This was our fourth
Outstanding food, excellent service! This was our fourth time here and will keep coming back!
Highly Recommend Craft!
Outstanding service and the food was among the best I've ever had. We were a large party of 30 business colleagues and the staff handled all of us perfectly.
First time at Craft
We had a delicious meal in a relaxing atmosphere with excellent wait staff! Many places have gnocchi, but this was bar far the best ever!
My girlfriend and I both got food poisoning from eating
My girlfriend and I both got food poisoning from eating here, but it was probably the best meal I've ever eaten in NYC. The staff are also phenomenal.
What an amazing dinner.
Beautiful restaurant, sweet staff and wonderful food. My favorite was the grilled octopus and my friend loved her chicken dish. Highly recommend.
Very very good service.
The food was delicious and met everything it should have. The ambiance was very good.
I wish I could give this place a 4.
5! We enjoyed a great birthday dinner for a friend here on a Saturday night. They printed customized happy birthday menus which such a lovely touch. The restaurant was extremely accommodating for gluten allergies - all of the mains were gluten free and they even served gluten free bread. The food was delicious - our favorite dishes were the scallops and the steak. We also loved the mushroom side and the braised short rib. We also had the crudo, the risotto and the brocoli (which was more like brocolini). The only issue we had was with our drinks as there were quite a few mix ups on what we had ordered. The staff was great and didn't rush us out. Great experience.
Craft is Definitely committed to great service.
Food was elegantly served, and top tier. Returning soon.
Went here for a special dinner while visiting NYC.
Have heard great things, but I see why it lost and has not been Michelin star rated in some time. Was good but definitely not great. The service was great but the food was just so-so. Had a 8:15 reservation. Yes thats later than prime time but they take reservations until 9:30 so I didn't expect them to be out of so many items. It was a Saturday night and not every table was full. The pork chop was amazing. The scallops were just average. The Brussel sprouts were flavorless ( thank goodness for the jus from the pork chop to dip them in). I expected way more from a Tom Colicchio restaurant. He would have voted off this chef tonight.
Exceeded my high expectations
Excellent service and amazing food. The squash pasta with brown butter sage sauce was divine. Whole experience was delightful. Started with craft cocktails - I had the Winter’s Tale and my companion had the hedonist. The squash soup amuse bouche was a pleasant surprise. We shared the pasta and hamachi crudo. I chose the chicken which was the most tender chicken I have ever had and he had the duck. He is a big fan of duck and said it was the best he had ever had. We shared the Brussels and finished with three scoops- vanilla, honey and blood orange. The take home coffee cake at the door was another pleasant bonus. Totally exceeded my high expectations.
Great service, good vibes.
Great dessert and very approachable good food. Kinda expensive though
Absolutely delicious food and fabulous service.
The restaurant is classy, modern, and simply decorated, and there was live music which was excellent.
Had a surprise birthday dinner here - everything exceeded
Had a surprise birthday dinner here - everything exceeded expectations. The events team is responsive and easy to work with. The food, staff & ambiance are all exceptional. Just a very warm feeling in the restaurant.
Our best dinner in NYC!!
We reserved well in advance - strongly recommended - and were seated promptly. Our server, Cesar, was attentive and professional. His warmth earns Craft its reputation as a high end but relaxed establishment. The short rib was decadent, especially spooned over the potato/cheese richness of the aligot. The risotto was as good as any I'd had in northern Italy. The dessert chocolate souffle was more of a lava cake than a true souffle, but close enough. If it's an occasion, or you just want to indulge in truly fine dining, Craft is the place.
Great food, great atmosphere, great service
Celebrated my husbands 50th here. They did a great job acknowledging the occasion. Drinks were well thought out, apps were delicious and the steak at dinner was perfect. Only disappointment was that we ending up sharing the steak because the smallest cut they had was 38oz and the only one eating it would have been my hubby so i opted not to have the fish so it wouldn't go to waste. There was still steak leftover, terrible waste :(
Try Craft!
The staff at Craft are sincerely friendly and actually care about your dinner experience. It’s a beautiful venue, but not stuffy or too formal. The food was fantastic - and be warned - these are big portions! Enjoy!!
Yup. Works.
Beautiful space, approachable and helpful service, delicious food. The heirloom Tomatoes were “that day” fresh, the crudo and the Hen of the Woods were unlike anything I’ve had before, and the pork ragu was brilliantly layered and delightfully interesting. Mez the sommelier was generous with his knowledge and experience. Only regret is that I passed on dessert.
Special food and perfect service
Really special place. Classy, but warm and inviting, Craft offers interesting and delicious dishes and friendly, attentive service. We came for the 6-course summer tasting menu and it did not disappoint. The highlight (out of many superb plates) was the king crab over a lemon verbena purée. Still thinking about it! Daniella, our server, was perfection. She was the perfect blend of informed professionalism and personalized friendliness. She made the experience special and really knew the food! Thanks to Tom for a NYC gem.
Skip Craft and spend your money where the food and experience are worth over $300 per person (with minimal bar bill)
We had a 7:30 reservation which was made well ahead of time. The Summer tasting menu was sold out when we ordered at 7:45, 5 of the 6 steaks offered were sold out, it was a constant refine of “sorry, we are out of that.” Apparently they received a slew of reservations for this evening at the last moment and they told us they did not have enough food. A restaurant of this caliber should be prepared. Bill was $633 with tip for 2 people (3 glasses of wine so not a big bar bill). Dinner took 3 hours as service was painfully slow. Regarding price keep in mind we were not able to get the tasting menu at $185 per person. It is sad to see a restaurant considered high quality fail on so many levels. Spend your money somewhere else as Craft is not worth it both in attitude/service and food choices/execution/quality. The one plus was our server who seemed extremely embarrassed by everything.

Questions around how AppointmentTrader works for Restaurant Reservations

Ask a Question |
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue? |
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
