🤮 1/5 - Inconsistent food and terrible service

I went to have a late Sunday lunch with my family at Cafe Isan as it was voted best Thai food by timeout. Even though many of the reviews spoke negatively about the space I was ok with it since it showed how passionate and authentic they tried to keep the place. Our server was a young gentleman with a very sweet smile. He was nice and friendly and gave us excellent service but EVERY OTHER STAFF there was surprisingly rude and unprofessional. As soon as we arrived at 2:30 we asked for a table outside and we were denied as they said it is only open from 4pm. Around 3:45 when our main course was arriving we asked once again if there is any possibility of sitting outside and our lovely server took us outside. To my surprise there was already a group of Britishers sitting there and finishing their meal. When I asked why we were denied a table earlier, as it was very obvious that they were serving the group that was finishing their meal, the staff said that it was because it was full inside. This group seated outside was already finishing their meal when our main course was only arriving so it was very clear that they arrived before us. It's always sad to face such realities that white people are given a privilege, or at least that's the way I felt being an Indian. What's the point of commenting on the food when the experience was destroyed by your staff. To top it all off, we ordered 2 portions of mango sticky rice and one had salt while the other had sugar. I mentioned it to one of the staff (a lady) and she outright laughed at my face. Being from the hospitality industry myself, I know how far good service can go. I hope the owner understands the importance of this.
