I am a solo diner.
Atelier Crenn would not let me reserve a table. They only do 2 or more diners. They told me, in a response to a voice mail, that I could get on their waitlist and perhaps be able to get a table if another party cancelled . Boo Atelier Crenn. Very poor behavior in my opinion.

Our very first visit to Atelier Crenn and it will not be our last. If we could give 10 stars we would. The food was spectacular and the whole service team was so friendly and professional. They were quick to accommodate and answered any questions that we had. Their attention to detail was amazing. They made sure to accommodate diet aversion for some members of the party. Everyone in our party had a very lovely evening. The food is so outstanding. I can see why a 3 Michelin Stars is awarded to Atelier Crenn. They truly deserve it. Thank you for making it a special celebration for my wife.

We came here to celebrate a beautiful occasion and this would be my first 3 star Michelin experience. Perhaps I had high expectations based on prior Michelin experiences, but I was disappointed. The biggest disappointment was lack of attention to detail. I ordered a mocktail, and thought that would make the waiters notice I was not drinking. And yet for dessert, I was given Champaign bubbles that I had to scrape out, without any courtesy or acknowledgment. I'll say the food was good, perhaps not blow me away for what I'd expect a 3 star, but pretty good. And last the ambiance was mediocre. All the waiters were nicely dressed, but the vibe was strange - the music playing didn't match the vibe inside, so just appeared not nicely organized. I don't anticipate coming back, with the cost of the meal and the better experiences at 1 star restaurants, unfortunately this was not a win.

A little mad at myself because I forgot to check in on yelp LOL. But oh well. That was a memorable dinner. Menu was seafood heavy (no complaints). Service was top notch. Chef Dominique came by every table to warmly greet and shake hands with everyone. They asked us what our favorite entrees were, we could not pick just one, had to name a few and eventually our table had named essentially all the entrees lol. (My faves were the onion broth and the pea pod dessert, and the uni...). Loved the little tour they gave us after the dinner service. Would love to visit Bar Crenn, it looks amazingly warm and inviting!
Such an amazing experience from start to finish.
The service was truly impeccable - attentive, friendly, and thoughtful without being overbearing. The food was absolutely delicious, with every dish beautifully prepared and full of flavor. I was pleasantly surprised by how satisfying the portions were - usually after a fine dining meal, I'm still a little hungry, but I left feeling full and happy. A perfect mix of quality, service, and atmosphere.

Dominique Crenn is the first female chef in the U.
S. to earn three Michelin stars, but honestly she deserves 10. This is a meal I won't forget for a long time. Each course is a perfect combination of ingredients, plating and flavor. The waitstaff was impeccable - probably the best service of my life. The restaurant is very intimate and they take care of each guest. I would definitely return here if I was back in San Francisco!

Was treated to the tasting menu at Atelier Crenn and was completely wowed. Every dish was a creative, flavorful work of art, and the service was warm and impeccable. You can feel the thought and emotion behind each plate, which makes sense given Chef Dominique Crenn's poetic and personal approach to cuisine. We ended the night with dessert at Bar Crenn and even got a tour of the kitchen--such a fun and special experience. Truly deserving of its three Michelin stars.

Foodie friends treated us to Atelier Crenn a few weeks ago and my husband and I were definitely hesitant. It's a lot to spend for a meal and we really are not foodies at all, but OMG - we definitely plan to go back because it was a delicious meal and entertaining experience and totally worth it. We expected to be hungry afterwards after reading some of the other reviews. We were quite pleasantly sated and very happy. We expected some of the dishes to be not to out liking, but every single one was delicious We certainly had no idea how beautifully each dish would be presented. Nor did we expect such a wide variety of tastes and textures. The interior is calm and lovely and we even got a tour of the kitchens and bar next door, along with meeting the amazing Chef Crenn herself. It was a wonderful experience and our foodie friends (who have been to multiple 3-star restaurants) were ecstatic with the entire experience, as were we. We highly recommend Atelier Crenn.
Great food and service
The food and service was great. However, there were a few dishes that fell short for a restaurant of this caliber. Also, the wine list was extremely expensive even by the glass. We decided to go with the wine pairing instead of something from the wine list. If you do, expect to taste more whites than red wines. The lighting was very dim in the restaurant which was the only thing that bothered me about the interior. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and atmosphere.
Very disappointing; be warned of the 30.6% extra $$ Where's the fresh farm produce?
After anticipating this dining experience for many years, when we did go it was such a let down. Dominique Crenn, we learned on arrival, was enjoying the Olympic games in Paris. Perhaps "the cat was away and the mice did play?" but this was a substandard experience at a cost approaching $2,000 (2 tasting menus plus 2 wine tastings at the lowest-priced option). This was the height of summer, we live locally and our veggies and fruits in our small urban garden are plentiful and very delicious. So, when we were told by one of the numerous wait staff that the Atelier Crenn "farm" (in Sonoma county) was being featured, and that the farmer had just come to the restaurant, we were excited to experience some summer produce......Well that was not to be the case. The tasting menu ($395 each, paid in advance through "Tock" app - on which they enforce adding a 20% tip, 8.6% tax, and 2% additional service - i.e. 30.6% upcharge to the price) is touted as having 16 (i believe) courses. Well, most of the courses are very small bites, meaning that several will come with a wine pour. That's fine, but the actual bites were so underwhelming. No fresh tomatoes, zucchinis, peppers, salads, or fruits such as tomatoes and stone fruits were on the menu. No! I lie.... one of the desert tasting bites did have a 3 extremely small slivers of santa rosa black plums on avocado. Which, since we grow them and know how delicious they should be, we pulled off the smashed avocado/guacamole tostada to taste -- and the plum was sour! Like from a grocery store in the midwest! (I know since I was just in the midwest and had the same disappointment). There was another fresh item - fresh peas. That was our highlight of the meal. It had a great flavor, bright green color, and different textures that wowed our taste buds. The peas were an early tasting item, and unfortunately the rest of the bites were not so exciting. The other "fresh" item we enjoyed was a fried shiso leaf as part of their desert tasting bites and it made for a tasty surprise. A strawberry (one of the first courses) was described as green strawberry deconstructed and made into a mouse. It tasted rather odd and had a nasty texture. Talking of texture, we were not fans of the other mouse's they gave us. One was a walnut mouse which was rather plain tasting. I cannot tell you what the others were now. There were 2 bread-ball courses. I prefer local Acme for breads, this was a rather uninspiring round ball - that at least helped fill our stomachs. The different seafoods were pretty all disguised in different ways, the exceptions being a delicious crab broth, 2 shrimps served 2 ways (fried heads being one of them), plus there as a nice size bite of tuna - except it had gristle that after chewing I had to spit out! The server did not apparently notice this when clearing the plate (with a glob of chewed gristle), although the kitchen prep staff should not have served a piece with a gristle line. I'd contacted the restaurant after the original booking since I had not added the "drinks" option to the ~$1,000 already paid when booking. I was told that the wine pairings were offered at $250, $480, and $1,225 depending on the wine list selected. Surprise! At the restaurant they offer these with the prices inclusive of all fees -- this means that you have no option but to pay 20% service (plus 2% additional service and the 8.6% tax) regardless. I'd have prefered to pay %15 on alcohol, but there you go. Overall expect to pay a load of money - a 30.6% upcharge on any of their prices. The atmosphere was good, the wait staff efficient -- albeit several are difficult to understand especially when they are rushing through their descriptions, which several of the guys were. Our favorite server was from the actual kitchen and she was very descriptive plus friendlier, to be honest! The men were rather stuffy and arrogant and, as mentioned, talked rapidly, often with English as a second language, so we had to ask them to repeat sever times. Our $300-a-person wine pairing was decent (we got the California wine selection), especially some of the wine pourings from southern CA. Our favorite was a light rose from Two Wolves in Santa barbara. That said, although we experienced some wines new to us, the pourings are small and they do not top you up (except one red which was stretched to several of the tasting "courses" and they told us would be repeated). In future (not that there probably will be - since it was that disappointing) I would order a bottle from the wine list and forgo the >$600 we paid on wine tastings. The place is small and several people were in sneakers and jeans but others were more dressed up. The place was not fully booked -- so perhaps they are not as popular anymore. I can understand if this is the case, this truly was a time that we were expecting a 5 star experience with the fresh local seafood and garden/farm produce. Instead it is more of a "guess what this is" and "find the local fresh produce if you can" experience we probably will not repeat -- there are many other options in San Francisco! Hopefully Dominique will take note of this and things will revert to the experience she used to tout! We left feeling very disappointed, but made a joke out of it when we told our friends. Really, it was too sad so we had to laugh.

Dearest Reader, Dining at Atelier Crenn once again, this time in celebration of my husband's birthday, was a delightful experience, albeit with some unexpected turns. Due to its immense popularity, our request to expand the reservation was understandably not accommodated. For those drawn to Atelier Crenn by its widespread acclaim or the Chef's Table episode, it's essential to approach with an open mind, free from rigid expectations. The restaurant has evolved, embracing a pescatarian and dairy-free ethos. My second visit contrasted sharply with the first. While the passion, purpose, and artistry that define Atelier Crenn were palpable, the experience differed. Consistently, however, the service remains impeccable, the selection of seasonal and thematic dishes is curated with the finest ingredients, and the wine program is robust and thoughtfully designed. The seafood offerings were a highlight, reflecting the restaurant's commitment to excellence. This month's tasting menu had a distinct Californian influence. The clarity of the shrimp broth was impressive, though the compressed caviar, reminiscent of seaweed from Costco, was disappointing. The caviar's compression seemed to alter its glutamate structure, diminishing the umami. We opted for the "Study in the World of Wine" pairing, which exceeded expectations. The journey through wines of increasing salinity and minerality, culminating in the light-bodied wines often found in Montalcino and the mid-bodied selection found in Burgundy, was the evening's highlight. The thoughtful wine arrangements spoke volumes, often more than the dishes themselves. In essence, Atelier Crenn continues to be a bastion of culinary artistry, offering an ever-evolving dining experience that marries impeccable service with innovative gastronomy and a stellar wine program.

It's hard to put our experience into words, but here's an attempt. One evening, my wife turned to me and said, "I'm working on an interior design homework assignment about 'Duality' and I need an artist to research. Do you have any recommendations?" My immediate response was, "Dominique Crenn." So.. the wife said: "Done.. my treat.. let's get inspired!" From the moment we arrived at Atelier Crenn, we were welcomed as if we were old friends. The sommelier, who somehow knew some of our friends from Mauna Loa (a lovely dive bar up the street), selected incredible bottles of wine for us. One dish, in particular, transported me back to my childhood with just one bite, bringing an embarrassingly blissful grin to my face that only the finest cuisine can elicit. A huge shout-out to the entire team at Atelier Crenn - you are creators of memories, dream weavers, and true visionaries. Thank you!

Went here for my birthday, had been curious about it for a long time. Courses were perfectly paced and portioned. Standouts included the apple cider truffle to start, the crab-three-ways course, the faux oyster made from frozen champagne and oyster essence, and the pine ice cream. I loved how they played with temperature - I found myself being forced to hold bites in my mouth a bit longer, move it around, etc due to the chill - sort of a clever way to force my hand in tasting the dish as it was intended. Only dish I didn't enjoy was a quite bitter uni and huckleberry one, but it was my partners top favorite so YMMV. Never had better service in my life. No notes there. The NA drink pairing was cool but I just know this place would make amazing cocktails. Oh well. Overall a wonderful experience! Amazing also how well they did without any dairy, love that new direction.

I feel so fortunate to share my thoughts on my second dining experience @ Atelier Crenn Absolutely the Most creative delicately assembled vegan small plates highlighting locally grown flowers & produce A feast for the eyes as well as the palette The looks of each plate though gorgeously presented, can be delightfully deceiving as to their texture & complex flavors & ingredients The pairings of nonalcoholic beverages was superb, so varied & most delicious Impeccable service, but the soft-spoken descriptions were often hard to hear due to background convos‼ Dimly lit, feels very intimate, tables generously spaced apart‼ Very enjoyable background music, servers very knowledgeable & professional‼ Perfection & timing rules, yet the demeanor is warm & welcoming, from first entering to saying farewell‼ The host was much more than a maitre d, spending time @ our table to check in, explain the story & vision of Dominique Crenn & was so sincere & warmly genuine & shared that the kitchen had created an alternate course for our table ( I had casually mentioned to the hostess upon my arrival, that I did not enjoy the beet dish I was served on my 1st visit in December) ...wow, I was so impressed by this thoughtful gesture & it was delici He also gently explained the "cheering" we occasionally heard coming from the kitchen ( I inquired if the kitchen was watching a soccer game) & personally walked me to the door as I was leaving ( My "favorite" server had a lovely French accent that made every description sound even more magical & authentic) All in all, Just the most wonderful, memorable meal & evening, also planting a "seed" to visit Bar Crenn in the near future

Dominique Crenn is a food genius! Her creativity jumps off the menu and into your food hole with immense pleasure. Since I'm a poet myself, I cannot begin to explain the immense joy that her menu is paired with actual poetry she has written - amour pur et plaisir pour les yeux, le cœur et l'estomac! I cannot wait to visit again! Thank you for existing and thank you for the love you show to your guests. A purely magical place.

I appreciate her knowledge about the menu. She was very helpful when it came to answer all her questions. The food was really great. The ambience was nice and can't wait to come back and try happy hour.
For a three star Michelin restaurant, it did not disappoint.
The restaurant is decorated beautifully and feels like a home dining room. I appreciate that the feel for guests to be recommended to use "dressy casual" clothing. It feels more "California" that way. The presentation of the delicious courses is impeccable. And the service is better than I've had at other starred restaurants. The food is a wonderful mix of vegetarian and fish options and really does celebrate the sea. Chef Crenn's summer '24 menu will keep us coming back for seasons to come.
Another 3 star that for me just wasn't quite worth the hype.
At 500 a person after tax tip you need to be blown away. Everything was good I have no complaints but I just didn't feel the wow factor unfortunately, which makes me a lil sad cause I've been eyeing this place for years. I also wonder since fine dining spots are known to change their menus seasonally if I just hit a not as impressive season. The first two courses started of really well. I really liked the popping sphere thing. But it just kind of tapered off a lil during the middle. The dessert tho omg that was excellent. Some things to note: they don't have liquor license so no cocktails just beer or wine. Also note that they are totally pescatarian which is cool and they def did some wonderful things with that. Overall, yes it was good... Of course it's gonna be good.. But was my mind blown away? Not so much. To be fair I didn't think Manresa nor French laundry really lived up to the hype either. I've also had a 3 star kaiseki in Japan and was also not blown away so maybe it's me I dunno. Either way if you're collecting fine dining, it's prob something you need to try yourself.

Atelier Crenn is a restaurant owned by chef Dominique Crenn, who also happened to work on the food design in the movie, The Menu. My cousin took me here as a graduation/birthday gift. This was my first time at a Michelin star restaurant, and the whole experience blew me away. When we first entered, the staff were very welcoming and checked in our coats. The restaurant itself offers a medium sized space and intimate experience that accommodates around 8 tables, give or take. This restaurant's menu is fully dairy-free and pescatarian, which we weren't aware of prior. Luckily for us, we love seafood. There were around 17 courses served, and while the portions seem tiny and non-filling, they add up over the course of the dinner. The courses offered were all fresh, with most of them having a strong acidic flavor profile. One notable dish we had was the amuse bouche which was a small ball that exploded with a cold, sweet, slightly acidic liquid. We asked the server about that dish and he explained the 15 step process it takes for that creation. The service was top notch, and the servers/chefs were very accommodating. At the end of our meal, I asked if they had hot chocolate because it wasn't on the menu and our server disappeared for a minute and came back to say "we've never made a hot chocolate here before, but the chef will make do. Is oat milk okay?" Hell yes! Overall, this place is pricey, but it is an experience and definitely worth a try at least once in your lifetime if you're into gastronomy and seafood.

I've had better experience at other 3 Michelin and even 2 Michelin star restaurants but I would still rate this food as 3 stars for inventiveness and quality. The staff made some mistakes but they were quick to recover. It was a little noisy but not too bad. Overall, I would highly recommend and would come back.

Came here for my anniversary and this is my first time experience 3 star Michelin dining. If you are not a fan of sour/vinegary/pickled flavors, this months menu is not be for you. Compared to other fine dining spots I have been to, atelier crenn puts a lot of thought into presentation. The silverware, plates, and decorations were curated to each dish beautifully. As for the food itself, my favorite main courses were the cauliflower & caviar and dry aged black cod. I do wish there were more warm dishes since many were cold, as well as more diverse flavor profiles since many of the vegetable dishes had a strong pickled flavor. I'm also not a big fan of beets so that course I would have like replaced with another seafood dish. Overall thoughts - service was great as expected and restaurant is beautiful - it is very expensive and as someone who really loves meat, I would prefer to go somewhere that has that - food wasn't my favorite but I did enjoy the experience and thoughtfulness in each dish. They have their own farm which is cool. - dessert and the matcha yuzu drink I had was amazing
Disappointment sums up my experience at Atelier Crenn.
I had been looking forward to trying it for the first time, with very high expectations. Unfortunately, everything fell short - the food, the service, and the atmosphere. The atmosphere was cramped and overly loud, creating a chaotic environment that detracted from the dining experience. Service was disorganized. With all the waiters responsible for every table, there was no opportunity to establish a rapport with any one of them. I had to request the menu twice before it finally arrived, and one waiter even spilled water on the table while filling the glass, neglecting to clean it up. As for the food, it was simply terrible. There was nothing special or interesting about it. Each dish was served cold, some even excessively so, and overly sour - the beet ceviche was inedible. While the presentation was commendable, the taste was thoroughly disappointing. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!!

Atelier Crenn has a really cute, tiny space inside, but for the price, my visit wasn't quite what I was hoping for. The staff were super friendly, but maybe a bit new because they seemed to fumble a little. The tasting menu was all about bold flavors, with lots of fermented and really acidic stuff. It's cool to try new things, but some of it, like the beet dish, was way too sour for me to even finish. The first course being a sweet apple juice threw me off a bit too. Sure, the tasting menu had a whopping 19 dishes! But they were tiny portions, so by the end, we were still hungry after spending a ton of money. For me, it wasn't quite the experience I was looking for, and I wouldn't recommend it to everyone.

Just not tasty. First time two years ago was fabulous. Maybe a new chef? Not sure. Or just a bad night for them.

The food was delightful and multi-faceted in hitting different taste buds. Dishes were well thought out, and we were especially impressed by the crab dishes and abalone dish. We really enjoy the interactions with the staff. They were friendly and enjoyed dialogues about the dishes.

What can you say about dining at Atelier Crenn that isn't already know. The service is excellent and their are so attentive. The interior is warm and very pleasant. And the food...it's no wonder that it has 3 Michelin Stars with it's fresh, quality food that raises presentation to a whole other level. I would recommend trying their non-alcoholic pairing. It it so creative and unique. One of the best drink pairings I have had and actually preferred it to wine pairings because it was so different and fit perfectly with the dishes.

My family and I dined here on 12/21/2023 to celebrate my husband's birthday. The food, presentation, experience were all superb. Chef Dominique was so gracious to say Hello and we took some pics with her at Bar Crenn. Coincidentally Coach Steve Kerr and his wife were there and of course more photos were taken. Coach Kerr was so friendly and approachable and chatted with us for a little bit. Overall an amazing dining experience with memorable surprises we could have never planned!
A colleague and I had dinner at Atelier Crenn two days ago.
Aside from the abalone and cod, everything else on the multi-course menu was not very delicious. The presentation of each course was beautiful, but unfortunately, the food did not the presentations. I ordered a glass of champagne ($50) to start the repast, and the glass was only half filled. I ordered the lower- priced wine accompaniment ($300), and again, the glasses were only half filled. Only one time did the server add some wine to one of my glasses. The ambience is spartan at best, with no tablecloths and nothing on the walls. With only eight tables in the small room, you would expect a quiet space, but it was quite loud and my guest and I had difficulty hearing the servers and the sommelier. My colleague and I had dinner at Quince three or four years ago, and the meal there was spectacular. We were both thoroughly disappointed.

Impeccable professional service, Almost choreographed! Each course beautifully presented & served , including ever changing flatware & plates ! Knowledge & explanation proudly shared! Simple yet elegant ambiance & decor! Unfortunately I took many more pictures but they did not post & I'm not sure where they went?!

Incredible presentation, story telling, service, and flavor combinations. Only giving 4 stars because one of the dishes was unfortunately a bit overly-salted to our liking.
Excellent Fine Dining - So Worth a Special Journey
Team Atelier Crenn really knows fine dining, creative/tasty food, exceptional service, and wine pairings. I’m equally impressed now as I was when I first visited 18 months ago. Such freshness, such bold flavors, such creativity! Seafood and Vegetables were the stars of the meal with the “cherry bomb,” the carrot and pea taco, the cauliflower and caviar, and the beets and leche de tigre the standouts. The dry aged black cod with sides was superb. The restaurant’s redesign for 2023 gave it an airy and light feel. The overall experience (phenomenal dinner, visiting the food chefs in the kitchen, the pastry chefs in their kitchen, and delicious desserts in Bar Crenn) was worth the money and definitely worthy of its 3 stars. THANK YOU!
Absolutely the best and the worst
Beautiful inventive new delicious cuisine, with attentive service, shoos tempura with beet compute soooo good. Then comes dessert maybe the worst ever certainly the worst for a 3 star restaurant, really ruined the experience and forced me to say don’t go.
UNUSUAL, INTERESTING EXPERIENCE....NOT MY FAVORITE 3 STAR
small , uninteresting, loud [also pop/rock music] dining space with 20 to 30 seats depending on configuration; their bar next door for desert is more pleasant. they try for 2 seatings a night. good and very expensive wine list as expected. $1,200 for two included a nice bottle of burgundy. food must be prepaid, no cancellations.....can't blame them. 19 courses including 5-6 tiny deserts. adequate volume but few would leave "stuffed". no meat. we found almost all the courses interesting, many tasty, a few outstanding. excellent , friendly, busy team service. having been to over 40 michelin 3 stars around the world, this one is most unusual....up[or down] there with le petit nice in marseilles where all the courses have included seaweed. we had a good time and if you have a fat wallet, give it a try. we are one and done.
An artistic presentation that intellectually challenged ones' sensory understanding of food
The dinner was an artistic presentation that intellectually challenged ones' sensory understanding of food. Chef Crenn's techniques decomposed common ingredients and then reconstituted them artistically to create new flavors and texture. The food was extremely delicate and required a lot of concentration to appreciate. The meal reminded me of the wholesome California spirit of Chez Panisse in the 1970's, the sophistication and precision of Jamin in the 1980's, and the creativeness of Ferran Adria in the 2000's. A thoroughly enjoyable dinner. For wine, we had a 4 year old Corton Charlemagne from a vintage that is early maturing. The wine tased like butter scotch in the first 45 minutes, evolved to pineapple cream in the next 45 minutes, but then shut down for the remaining meal. Perhaps it needed 5 or 10 more years of aging.
I mean.
.. what expectations should you have of a truly lux 3-star Michelin chef's grand tasting menu? Whatever they are, Atelier Crenn blew us away with an endless stream of delicious and thoughtful bites. We left fully satisfied and really well "served" after 3-hours of wonderfulness.Really enjoyed the new interior - we were there right after the reopen - and about 2/3 of the way through the meal, the staff took us on a tour of the kitchens and we finished our meal at the amazing new "Bar Crenn" next door.Our favorite dishes were the acorn, crab broth, sourdough, abalone and cod. Also amazing tastes for a no-dairy menu... So thankful for the attention to detail, the delightful tastes and a true service experience.

The service is of course excellent since it's Michelin . Every one was very knowledgeable about the history of the chef, restaurant and they take pride. We enjoyed every dish and the taste exceeded our expectations. It's a extravagant experience for our taste bugs. After the main courses, they gave us a tour of their 3 kitchens, lead to another beautiful lounge area for our deserts. I would highly recommend this place to my friends.

Among the 3 stars, it may not be my favorite food, but it's certainly the most beautiful and artistic. I will note the service was disappointing, not much attention given to us.

I liken this restaurant to theater. You will be presented with text that give you a heads up on what's to come rather than a menu. Center stage is your exquisitely designed plate. Some are truly breathtaking to look at. Some appealed to my tastebuds more than others. The restaurant decor is simple and does not distract from your plate. The service was attentive. We ordered a bottle of wine and had a good discussion with the young sommelier. It is a very small dining area so I would encourage the staff to be more discrete in their interactions with each other regarding tables. The hand gestures and eye glances can take a guest away from the well thought out food journey.

It's a pescatarian menu and the seafood did not disappoint. Great ambience and cozy atmosphere. Love all the personal artwork by her late father. We shared a wine pairing and it was plenty for my husband and I. The best part was when they gave us a tour of the kitchen and moved us over to Bar Crenn for desserts. Nice progression on the meal from start to finish. Overall experience is worth the hype and everything was well thought out and beautifully executed. A must if you're up for great food, ambience, friendly and knowledgeable staff. A true 3 Michelin star experience.

We were touched by her life story, dedication and inspiration.However, the visit to Atelier Crenn turned out to be a huge disappointment.We were there in Oct 2022 and did their tasting menu.The food: From the presentation perspective, all courses before dessert were beautifully decorated. However, when you start biting into them, that's when the music becomes out of tune. The size of each course was terribly small even based on 3 Michelin star standards. Many courses only served 1 piece of the ingredients, such as oyster. Ingredients became repetitive after 2-3 courses, probably because they limited to fish and vegetables only. But one may argue there are a lot of fish and vegetables out there. Three vegetable dishes were extremely sour and salty to a level that's not edible. They were the beets and tomato based dishes. Dessert on the other hand was underwhelming from the look perspective but really tasty. I'd give all dessert courses 4 stars. 5 for the taste and 3 for the presentation. Three of us took a lot photos during the dinner but left the restaurant still hungry.The Service:We really didn't feel the atmosphere as what chef Crenn mentioned in the Netflix episode - when you come to my restaurant, it's like coming to my home and I want to welcome you that way. The servers were polite but robotic and apathetic.The Value:From the cost perspective, we really didn't feel like we got the money worth at this price. We've had great experience at many 1-3 Michelin star restaurants in the Bay Area. This is the worst we've felt so far!

More veg forward than anything else. Had one fish dish which was the worst dish of the night. Had the December menu and had beets prepared two ways with a glass beet artwork placed on our table.Some combos were amazingly delicious and it was an experience but definitely not worth the price, how hard it is to get a spot, or worth returning. We have been to a handful of other Michelin star places (e.g., Masa, Alinea, Plumed Horse, Benu) around the US and this is low on our list.Servers were friendly but hard to hear with their low voices and the loud casual atmosphere. Also, bad breath which wasn't great.Honestly we also had dinner at fog harbor and it was much better!So although it was an experience, there is much better food to be had in the bay area.

We made reservations for four of us and we went there in the end of the August this year. There is a paid indoor parking nearby, take less than 10 min to walk to the restaurant. We had trouble finding the restaurant while we were actually standing in front of the restaurant, so, if you think you are at the right location and wondering where is the restaurant then yes, you are at the right place. Restaurant offer several courses, most of them are vegetarian and some are seafood dishes. We ordered mixed beverages that goes with food, most of the drink were on sour side, not really my favorite. Overall, we love the food and experience. We enjoy the poems that get you to think what will be on the plate, and we get to tour the kitchen before they brought us to their lounge where the desert was served. The only thing I wish is different is the time, our reservations is 8:30pm but the whole dinning experience didn't end until passed midnight which made it the longest dining experience I ever had. My suggestion is to make reservations for earliest time in the day as possible so you don't end up very tired and sleepy like us.

An absolutely amazing meal. Both the presentation and the food were exceptional and the service was wonderful - so beautifully choreographed. It's a tasting menu and yes, the bite sizes are small, but we did not leave hungry - nor were we stuffed - it really was the right amount of food spread out over 2 hours. It's a very small space with just eight tables, which explains why it's so hard to get a reservation. We didn't do the wine pairings instead opting to have full bottles of wine. The wine prices however, we more than a little exhobanant but the wines were delicious. An incredible experience and would recommend for anyone who appreciates food as an art.
Dissapointing
Creative, elaborately presented courses. Some tasty, some muted. But at the end of the meal we were still hungry. Portions ridiculously small. Needed extra bread after bread course. Dinner is an elaborate show with a bevy of servers, somewhat disorienting. One server per table preferable. Coordinated wine flights excellent. But amazingly, we were charged for coffee. I wanted to support Chef Crenn, and glad to have had the experience but will not repeat. And, such a hassle to get bookings.
