Antico Nuovo Los Angeles Reviews from The Last Year
Ambiance and service were great.
Food was not the level it was hyped up to be. Loved the focaccia tho!
Please save your hard earned money and valuable time.
The terrible manager and service are not worth it. Go to Mother Wolf 10 minutes away. Thank me later.
Excellent all around.
Food, atmosphere, A little knock on value: some items a touch pricey. And a little knock on service: the server was exceptional. Host stand could use a little help in managing the turns. When offered dessert, I shared that host said they needed the table by a certain time. Server was surprised and said we're welcome to stay. Oh and perhaps more than ice cream and cannoli: more variety to hook the finishing touch on a splendid meal.

Antico Salt-o! This place feels cool and looks the part, the wine list is interesting and some of the dishes are quite good, while others are disappointing. Yes, the focaccia is fluffy and light with a crispy, yet overly-salted crust. The burrata was light and smooth. My personal favorite, the broccoli caesar was unexpected and delicious, and that I'm afraid is there the highlights end. The sauce with the plin dell' alta langa was fine, but something about it just didn't sit right/had an odd or gamey taste. The cannelloni was super salty- it was literally the only flavor, pass on that. Super pass on the ribs- they are so dry and overly seasoned! They really missed an opportunity to serve with a much needed polenta. Lamb is good, & infinitely better than the way over-seasoned ribs. The biggest disappointment had to be the ice cream- we ordered the honeycomb and the pistachio and they were exactly the same except that one had a little honey on top and one had some salted pistachios on top of the super salty salted ice cream. Joe Jonas was there, so you might see a celeb, but this is LA, odds are just as good at the grocery store. There are better Italian restaurants & better all-around restaurants in LA (Republique or Pace come to mind). Try if you must, but be warned of the salt!
The atmosphere is lovely and the service is excellent.
The server recommended us a couple delicious wines that we really enjoyed. We ordered the focaccia along with a green chickpea puree and both were outstanding. Don't sleep on the focaccia. The ice cream is also ridiculously good. The pasta was a bit disappointing. We ordered the ravioli and pappardelle. The pasta itself was homemade and cooked to perfection but the ravioli's red sauce was a bit bland and the ragu on the pappardelle was soooo salty it was hard to enjoy.
Me and wifey had reservations the day after valentine's day
Me and wifey had reservations the day after valentine's day , once they opened we got sat right away. Small menu ? yes. but trust me the smaller the more they specialize in it. Perhaps it can be a little pricey but hey la type shit right. Although our server was a little awkward she was attentive. Wife had the tortellini which she loved, yea a few more tortellinis wouldn't hurt but it was very tasty and vibrant dish. Of course the man had to have the parpadelle, Let me tell you this , best fucken parpadelle i have ever tasted and quite frank it will be hard to beat. Not only was it fresh and rustic but the sauce was insane, very delicious. Overall great experience, i would definitely come back for my birthday but i can't sadly because we ain't got to muh monie cuz . Thank you to the management and workers.
Yummy Italian spot for quality food without being too
Yummy Italian spot for quality food without being too expensive. Nice ambiance. Beer and wine only! For food- i recommend: The ice cream - omg so amazing and flavorful. We got the pistachio and it was good The focaccia bread - the best I've had, cooked so well Pastas were amazing as well. Not best I ever had, but great Do not recommend: Tuna crudo, weird taste
We came for the Valentines prix fixe menu.
Great service and tasty food in an intimate setting. There is valet parking but we parked on the street. Just pay attention to signs. Reservations were made via OpenTable. They do call to confirm the day before. The prix fixe menu is a selection of many of their same regular dishes. The meal is served family style and you pick two appetizers with focaccia bread to start, two pastas, one main entree (with extra $$ for ribs and tomahawk steak), a side, and two desserts. We liked the bread to start. The ricotta was a great complement. The crudo was tasty though I ate it with the bread like lox! I liked the pasta, served nice al dente with the bits of meat a nice touch to the more chewy pasta. You can add more Parmesan to top. We got the ribs. They were good, though the fennel did give a saltier aftertaste. We added the bone marrow potato purée and that was nice and fatty! The meal ended with their special honeycomb and pistachio crunch ice cream. We liked the honey flavor though the pistachio crunch did end up a bit salty. A great date night! They didn't have cocktails but a big selection of wines and some beers.

My wife merely asked for a menu and the waitress at the front shooed her away. Surprising lack of class from this upscale restaurant.
The food is more like a 3.
5 but the ice cream takes it to a 4... Whipped ricotta was good. I loved the bread- just the right amount of fluff and toast. Broccoli chicory Caesar was great! But the tuna and amberjack crudos weren't that great (especially the tuna). The tortelli and pappardelle both needed more flavor. Loved the texture of the pastas and could definitely taste the freshness but wish there was more flavor to both dishes. Branzino, pollo and cauliflower were the best dishes we had. Really LOVED these. The ice creams!!! Pistachio was #1! Persimmon was a close #2. The honeycomb was similar to pistachio so loved that too. The chocolate was too rich- one bite was just enough. Our first server was great but the one who took over when she had to leave had a horrible attitude and we felt like she was mocking us for wanting to order 4 ice creams. Ended off the night with a bad experience.
We were rushed!
We felt rushed by the staff every step of the way. Everyone was polite but insistent on getting our orders and moving fast. Expecting a nice experience, the three of us were there for maybe an hour. And the place was not full. The food was very good but not outstanding. The wine list is made of less known Italian and French wines but we managed to find an excellent Beaujolais at a good price. We were visiting our daughter in LA and she chose the restaurant... a pity.
OMG!
Now resurrected post COVID as Antico Nuoco but in the same location, this place is amazing. With a house in Italy and years of eating the very best Italian food, my standards are pretty high. Antico Nuovo is definitely up there with some of the best. If I’m picky the pasta should be a bit more al dente and you should bring LOTS of money because this place is NOT cheap but the food is very good and the wine list is interesting. Service was attentive, pleasant and efficient.

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Can come from a lot of places, people who don't want to get charged their cancellation fee or people who just have them and cant go.

almost all restaurants aren't affiliated with AT and I'm guessing it's mostly people wanting to not pay cancellation fees.
