Very bad experience
I went there on April 13, it was a Saturday. The restaurant was packed but there was still a table for two people. I wanted to take it and that's when I was told that I had to wait 5 minutes. I didn't understand why, knowing that there wasn't anything on it that could indicate that it was reserved. Anyway, I waited and five minutes later a couple came and took it in front of me and I couldn't do anything (I should point out that the couple didn't have a reservation to my knowledge). So I left having understood that I was not welcome. Moral of the story: don't go there (especially during busy times).
Be the first to ReplySuperb oriental cafe/restaurant
Perfect place to quench your thirst and have lunch. We also ate a delicious fish couscous. The waiters are adorable. We highly recommend
Be the first to ReplyVery disappointing experience
My visit was extremely disappointing due to the disrespectful behavior of the servers. The lack of professionalism and friendliness greatly affected my experience. I sincerely hope that steps will be taken to improve customer service at your establishment
Be the first to ReplyExcellent !
Superb place! Excellent lamb couscous and very friendly staff. We arrived a little early. They showed us the rooftops which give a breathtaking view of the medina of Tunis. Thank you so much.
Be the first to ReplyA short break while browsing the souk
A relaxing space, during your visit to the souk, we took something to quench our thirst. The place is a little noisy. The servers are serious. The menu is reasonable.
Be the first to ReplyA must-do break!
Great place well located in the Medina, on the edge of the Souk. We had a mint lemonade and a pine nut tea, it was a treat! The waiter even made the effort to serve us a fruit platter which was not on the menu because we did not want a menu. Thanks to the restaurant team who are very friendly. Little extra: clean toilets!
Be the first to ReplyLovely, traditional cafe!
Visited for some drinks & sweets in the mid morning. There are a couple of entrances & we went through the one near the restaurant which leads to the terrace & the older bit of the cafe with traditional furnishings. It was really nicely decorated & cosy. We ordered a Turkish coffee, a tea with pine nuts, a citronnade with almonds, an assidet zgougou & a plate of Tunisian pastries which turned out to be kaak warka. The crockery on which everything was served was beautiful. The tea was refreshing & great with the pine nuts, the coffee was the standard thick Arabic/ Turkish coffee. The citronnade was full of the zesty & tart goodness of lemons. It was interesting with the almonds added 😊😊😊😊 We loved the kaak warka which were soft biscuits filled with marzipan. They looked & tasted lovely 😋😋😋😋 The zgougou had a nice, gooey texture but the flavour wasn't very distinctive. The total bill was 47 dinar, which was £11+. It was a nice, chilled way to spend some time in the relative calm of the cafe away from the hustle & bustle of the souks. Worth a visit for a treat when you're in Tunis!

Be the first to ReplyAuthenticity and Beautiful Views
Mrabet Coffeeshop is a gem in the heart of Tunisia. From the moment I entered, I was captivated by its authentic Tunisian charm. Every detail, from the quality of the products to the warmth of the staff, speaks of dedication and passion. But the pièce de résistance has to be the rooftop view. Sipping on a drink while overlooking the mesmerizing surroundings elevates the entire experience. A must-visit for both locals and tourists in search of genuine Tunisian hospitality.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing
Disappointing. If this is “authentic Tunisian” food — if so, I have a problem as I found my soup and traditional dish be uninspired and relatively tasteless. Portions were small.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful food and great views
We came with a group and had a wonderful lunch. Most if the portions were pretty big and the food was quite good. Staff was super helpful. The view from balcony is fabulous.
Be the first to ReplyMid service
The food itself was good but the service was very low, the guy was pasig aggressive and we did not feel welcomed at all. 3/10
Be the first to ReplyGreat food with personal service
Was very empty during the lunchtime so was lucky to have excellent attentive service. As I don't know French, the manager kindly explained to me with English and Arabic the dishes, the vegetables with lamb that I ordered were delicious and the Arabic coffee at the end was amazing. Plus they also had a nice selection of starters. Very central location and there is also more lively coffeeshop downstairs.
Be the first to ReplyNice setting, incredibly slow service
The cafe has nice decor with a calm courtyard terrace, however be prepared to wait especially when ordering anything other than drinks. On a not-that-busy Saturday afternoon it took them 50 minutes to prepare two crepes.
