5-5 stars for this restaurant. I first came here to celebrate a birthday, and we had reserved a table on a Saturday night with a party of 9 and had reserved two ducks. Mind you, we reserved our table to be right at opening time. 4:30pm, and we were seated almost right away upon arrival. I suggest parking at Portsmouth Square Garage since it's a pretty close walk to Z & Y Peking. If you're walking down Jackson St. before hitting Kearny St., Z&Y Peking would be on your left hand side, not the right as its sister restaurant Z & Y are on the same street. OKAY ONTO THE FOOD The food was SO GOOD & Tasty! We had ordered quite a few items as we had a large group and it was a first time for most of the group. The peking duck (which you HAVE to reserve unless you're lucky) was seriously amazing - the skin was super crisp and the typical gainy texture of duck wasn't apparent when paired with its sides- or even by itself. We had also ordered the Miso Sea Bass (8.5/10), Clams (9/10), Cucumber Salad (9/10), Potstickers (10/10, and I couldn't stop eating them lmfao), Spicy Wontons (7/10), Dan Dan Noodles (9/10), Fried Rice (8/10), Xiao Long Bao (10/10) and Scallion Pancakes (7.5/10). The food were pretty good portions but if you have a large group, I might double up on the order if you're extra hungry. Honestly, it was a nice spot and I appreciated the atmosphere the restaurant gave. Our waiters were pretty kind and was nice about the corkage fee (I believe it was $25 per bottle) as we had brought our own wine. We were seated downstairs, so if you're seated downstairs mind your steps for sure! The bathroom downstairs is apparently much more spacious than the one upstairs.
