Very tasty!
We stopped in for a tasting. The staff was very friendly and gave us ideas on places to go in Houston. The tasting was awesome! The different whiskeys and bourbon faired well with my palette.

I took my parents to Yellow Rose Distilling for the 11 AM tour on their 45th wedding anniversary. My parent's happy hour drink of choice is a Bourbon Manhattan, so this anniversary activity was perfect! We took the informative tour, and all really enjoyed it. It was interesting and engaging. However, our tour guide made it incredibly special by asking the tour group to sing Happy Anniversary to my parents and then treated them to a taste of one of their reserve whiskies. My my my, what a special thing for my very special parents! We left, each buying our own bottle of whiskey--Yellow Rose Distilling will always have a special place in our hearts.

The Whiskey tasting tour was fun and informative, thanks to our very cheerful and enthusiastic guide.
The distillery also has a bar that serves some interesting whiskey & bourbon cocktails.
Oh and don't leave without buying some of the absolutely delicious maple syrup they sell.
Definitely a great way to spend an afternoon <3
interesting read below
we ll being English and prefering my whisky without the E i went into this place open minded it has for sure already outgrown the premises .you enter the place in the middle of industrial units very unlike there Scottish cousins as you enter the building there is a small bar and you will get a true Texas welcome . the distillery is small they make a pretty good choice of bourbon and southern whisky .every one has different taste so please dont accept mine will be the same as yours . there biggest seller i beleive is the Outlaw bourbon well sorry to say this is not for me i found it to be very rough on the throat . the single malt is smooth and enjoyable a little costly at 54 dollars a bottle can find some good 8 year old malts for simalar money that would please my taste buds more . the blended is smooth and priced nicely at around 29 dollars worth the money i also enjoyed the rye . overall great afternoon the guy giving the tour has for sure plenty of experience and made the whole tour fun he is a natural . this place is well worth a visit go along try it make your own mind up . I would for sure go back on my next visit and do it all again . Great job was a pleasure to be there great people

I used a Groupon to explore this place. What fun! It is tucked in an office complex - who knew you could distill anywhere in Houston! The front of the place has a nice intimate (small) bar - I had a couple of their whiskey drinks that were quite tasty.
The tour of the back of the place where all the action happens was the best part for me.
There were only two of us on the tour and I got to ask a million questions. Carl, a distiller, was our guide and was so knowledgeable and friendly even though it was a small group. He explained the process to make the whiskeys and some of the decisions the Yellow Rose group had made - so interesting.
I found a couple of the samples much better than I expected (straight whiskey samples can be pretty strong!). And the maple syrup from a whiskey barrel was insanely delicious.
Yes, their hours are limited, but they are a small, high quality, Houston group so I say go and enjoy.
Itโs Ok
Stopped by with some friends. The whiskey is ok. Was definitely not a fan of the rye, but hey it might e someone elseโs go to. Staff was ok.

The tours on Friday are at 4:30 and 5:30. There is no reservation system, first come first serve. Arrive on location and find a handwritten note that says the regular tours are canceled and there is a single tour at 5pm.
Why not just run the 4:30 tour? Not clear. What is clear is that moving it to 5 screws over BOTH the people coming for the 4:30 tour who now have to wait 30-45 minutes extra in this strip mall location, and the people coming at 5:30 who are most likely arriving after the new 5pm tour has started and are totally shafted.
Great idea guys. Don't put anything on the website and piss everyone off.
Fun-filled, light-hearted, educational
5 of 5 - don't judge a book by it's cover. Go inside, learn a thing or two, and enjoy an afternoon sipping whiskey with family and/or friends. My wife and I went to Yellow Rose with her parents. Dad is a bourbon lover like I am. The blend was our favorite. A+ quality company, dedicated to their spirits. Enjoy-

We spent my husband's 50th birthday at Yellow Rose. The tour is excellent, very interesting and fun. The bar area is beautiful and there are picnic tables and games outside. Overall, it makes for a very fun afternoon. We took games and snacks and spent a couple of hours just relaxing with friends. Kids are also welcome!

Friends and I made our own distillery tour in Houston with Yellow Rose being one of the first stops. The people are super friendly, the tour was very interesting with the various sips of the products. The master distiller really enjoys his job as well as discussing the process and intricacies of making unique whiskey. We enjoyed our time at Yellow Rose! Worth a trip!
