This is a good pre-theater restaurant.
They are efficient and attentive, get you in and out for your show and the food is quite yummy. We had the cacio e pepi and the scallops and both were quite tasty.

I come here once a year with my husband and we've made it our special little date night spot in the fall. The entrees change but we always get the arancini (rice balls) and the meat balls as appetizers, wow incredible. The entrees are hit or miss though and we're not typically excited for the desserts, nothing mind blowing to choose from. The staff are very professional and friendly and they always ask if you're heading to a show afterwards.
Be the first to ReplyGood food and service.
Not wow but solidly good food. Had the short ribs - good flavor. I do think the starters could be improved - just wanted a salad to start but nope. Good wine selection.

Service and food decent ! Walked in and was able to get a table! They were very attentive especially if you had theater tickets ! It seemed like alot of regulars go here
Be the first to Replyso good definitely recommend.
arancini con tartufo nero di stagione, fontina valle d`aosta.
Be the first to ReplyWe had reservations at the restaurant but needed to stay in.
So we canceled the reservations and ordered delivery. Their online process was very smooth and the food was absolutely delicious. Food arrived hot and salad cool. Cacio e pepe, Lasagna verde, and the beet salad were all lovely, and all after being delivered. I can only imagine what the food must be like fresh from the kitchen. Very reasonable prices and good portions that are plenty satisfying but not overlarge to the point of overindulgence. We hope to visit in person. Recommend!
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful decor, great service, fun happy hour.
Highly recommend if your are in the neighborhood
Be the first to ReplyDef commend for a quick, inexpensive, pre-theatre meal.
We ended up here after making a reservation and the restaurant giving away our table. We walked in and I think the host could see the fear in my eyes that we now had less than 90 minutes to sit, eat, pay and walk the 2 blocks to the theatre. They sat us outside, it was a beautiful night and advised us not to order a few things, because they take a long time to make. There was 3 of us, we all had pasta (cacio, gnocci and ravioli) and we all really liked our meals. None of us finished the whole bowl so the portions were a nice size. We also did start with burrata and rice balls for the table. We skipped the dessert and made it to the theatre on time.

I've only come to this bougie place twice in my life but man the experience was amazing both times. The pasta with duck is a crowd-pleaser in my family and a good dish for beginners. I tried the cacio e Pepe and I questioned whether it was worth $27 for pasta with cheese; but it tasted decent. The gnocchi is delicious as well. Although the menu is limited, there is a lot of flavor in each dish. Note that this is much fancier than your average Italian restaurant (not a lot for picky eaters). My only complaint is that I wish the menu gave a better description of the food, or there were photos. Both times, I ordered dishes I wasn't in love with and ended up eating off of other peoples' dishes.
Be the first to ReplyReally good pasta, just ok apps and drinks.
We came on a Sunday night at 6 and it wasn't busy at all. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Definitely a little bit on the higher end of prices but considering the area it isn't terrible. They have half off drinks till 8pm which is awesome but the drinks were not worth the original price anyway. We ordered the arancini, the tonnarelli cacio e pepe and the sedanini di spinaci, prosciutto e piselli. They gave us complimentary focaccia with butter which was nice but weird that it was butter instead of olive oil. The arancini was a great texture but they sold the flavor as truffle which I didn't taste at all. It tasted just like paprika to me. My spinach pasta dish was amazinggg. You could actually taste the spinach in the pasta and the pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and gripped the cream sauce really well. The peas and prosciutto in it added a nice contrast in flavor and texture. My friend loves her cacio e pepe.
Be the first to ReplyViceVersa is a charming Italian restaurant on 51th Street
ViceVersa is a charming Italian restaurant on 51th Street in the garden level of a lovely building. This block has the potential to be a smaller Restaurant Row, with Ippudo anchoring the northeast side, Dolly Varden across the street, and Uogashi further down. I see a lot of potential on this cozy, quiet street. A quick note about happy hour: glasses of wine and house cocktails are half off from 4-8 PM, provided you sit on the bar side, rather than the restaurant side. I think beer might also qualify for happy hour but I didn't see the "fine print" anywhere so go ahead and ask. This is a very good deal for midtown and reminiscent of Hell's Kitchen's pre-pandemic glory days. My girlfriend and I were celebrating a special occasion. We started on the bar side for cocktails then hopped over to a table for dinner. Complimentary bread was so good we almost asked for a second basket; thankfully we did not as the pasta portions were large. The grilled octopus appetizer consists of a delicious tentacle served with fresh micro-greens and a potato/red pepper salad. Bursting with flavor and grilled just right. This starter was surprisingly light and established a good mood that would last the rest of the meal. Any time a restaurant boasts about their house-made pasta, I want to put it to the test. The gnocchi receives high marks; I might have liked the pasta texture to be a little firmer. Also could have done with more mushrooms. The casoncelli was an experience, a ravioli-type dish somewhere between a dumpling and cinnamon toast, topped with sensationally succulent fried pancetta chunks. The flavor profile is out there but if you've got an inquisitive palate this is a good dish for you. Too full for dessert! We finished off our bottle of chianti and paid the bill. Prices are normal for good-quality sit-down Italian food in this part of the city. The decor is also quite nice and the service was polite. I could see myself eating here again.
Be the first to ReplyMy family and I went for dinner yesterday before a show.
It was such a great choice. The food was fantastic and the service was perfect. The cocktails were delicious too. Every single dish was fantastic - the meatball app, the rice ball app, the only thing not great was the grilled octopus app (it needed more flavor). The entrees were amazing, I had the veal ravioli and it was delicious. But 2 people at the table had the veal chop and that was beyond delicious! The whole experience was FANTASTIC!
Be the first to ReplyAverage expensive food.
Convenient for theatre district. Our calamari appetizer had no pizzazz. Ravioli entree was swimming in oil/butter and cooked harder than al denté. Swordfish entree- fish cooked well over vegetables but no interesting seasoning or flavors. Will not return.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Italian insperiate food.
Not a lot but the food is very rich and filling.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food and service.
Had the burrata, gnocchi, lemoncello (home made) and the lemoncello crème brûlée. All of the food my table ordered looked very well prepared. Everyone in our party was more than happy.

Strange Italian restaurant nestled down 51st st - the Italian restaurant is staffed with Indian servers and Russian accent pieces inside the restaurant. The burrata was lacking in flavor and not very gooey. The gnocchi sauce was too rich and overpowering and our table of 2 could only finish half the dish - $50 for these 2 dishes
Be the first to ReplyI came here for happy hour which is from 5-8.
Drinks were half off. I got a Negroni which was slightly sweet and strong. The bartender was really nice and attentive. I didn't try any of the food but the dinner menu looked good.

Cute, nicely decorated for the holidays, had a romantic feel to it. The service was excellent, water and wine poured timely; food timed appropriately between servings and timely delivery of check. Never pushy or rushed. And then the food was outstanding! We shared an appetizer of calamari and a pasta dish, cacio e pepe; which they nicely split for us without asking them to do so. I had the branzino and my husband had the veal cutlet. We both thoroughly enjoyed it. I can't imagine why anyone would give this place a negative review. Was it cheap? No, but it was reasonably priced for what you got, in NYC. We will be back!
Be the first to ReplySpacious & decorated interior, but dinner and service was
Spacious & decorated interior, but dinner and service was sloppy. I've never been served a cold pat of butter with bread at an Italian eatery. Okay wine selection, but the Cab was served ice cold. The buratta start was served with a chunk of ice cold unripe tomato. Pasta was okay, though large portions (lasagna was the size of a dinner plate). Pasta was beyond al dente. Dessert was okay (gelato was more akin to ice cream than a legit gelato, tiramisu was a tiny bit of coffee-soaked cake in a martini glass of tasteless cream. Service was rushed, the waitstaff offered no suggestions, conversation, nor even an introduction. When plates were brought, the servers kept moving wine glasses and silverware directly in front of us -- seemingly had no spatial awareness on -giant- tables. We were seated and a few minutes later some other random waiter showed up for our order. Ambiance was "rushed" at best. Overall okay, but relative to cost I'd recommend finding other Italian joints.
Be the first to ReplyAte here last week while in the city.
The service wasn't great even though it was pretty empty. Also thought the food was overpriced for the quality. I also got food poisoning while still at restaurant and threw up multiple times in the restaurant bathroom. Before leaving I told the staff the food made me sick and what I ate so this didn't happen to someone else. They didn't really seem to care and didn't even offer to partial refund our bill for my meal that made me sick. Very disappointed.
