Great food
We showed up as walk-ins. We were there half an hour early and got a table. The food was really delicious. Fantastic pizza and really outstanding desserts. Will definitely come back again.
Be the first to Replythe crust is the star and it's fantastic!
couldn't get reservations but was able to walk-in. recently names the best pizza in the world by an Italian consortium. the crust was indeed outstanding... pillowy soft with a bit of char. the crust is the outstanding feature, as the sauce and cheese are pretty light in terms of volume and taste. the menu was super simple, a few varieties of pizza (which were all quite similar), only 2 appetizers and a few optional toppings. We loved the pizza and it was obviously authentic like you get in Italy. I prefer classic NY-style pizza so probably would not go back, but absolutely recommend! go for it!

This restaurant has recently been awarded world’s best pizza and it lived up to it. There was a constant stream of customers and many without reservations being turned away. Our pizzas were great - I have never had anything quite like the base, which was thick yet incredibly light. The ingredients were all so fresh. Prices were not unreasonable.

Had a fun dinner with my friends. Restaurant still feels like it is going through its ‘transformation’ trying to figure out the right simple menu. There were no starters but the pizzas were great and straight forward. Huge wood oven so gives that perfect Neapolitan flavour. Red wine hit the spot even though there wasn’t much to select from. Staff was probably the weak spot...not exactly friendly. But would I go again? Yes the pizza is delicious and it’s a venue with a cool vibe to go with it.

The pizza is unique at Una Pizza Napoletana. It's not your everyday pizza you might get at John's on Bleecker, or the typical fancy personal sized you might get at Keste, it's a unique experience with a great crust, and some light and sensible toppings that let you experience the naturally leavened dough and beautiful taste.
The wine list is weird, and definitely worth trying. Of course they didn't have two of the wines I wanted when I was there which was annoying, but they had some other ones which were not bad. The prices aren't cheap, but they're not crazy, and they seem to always have an orange wine.
The appetizers are well worth it with the burrata and nduja combo being really fantastic. Most of my party i found out didn't like nduja which is too bad. But I think it's great!
The pizzas were simple yet so flavorful due to the yeasty crust that made you want to keep eating the dough. If you're not eating a pizza for the bread but rather for the toppings you've come to the wrong place.
Definitely worth a visit, I don't think it beats Razza or Lucali's, but I think it's still a winner.
Emperor’s New Clothes
The pizzas are ok - not outstanding just ok. But what let’s this restaurant down is the attitude to customers. The pretentious “I’ll be soooo disappointed if you only order the Marguerite pizza” when the 5 pizzas on offer are basically mozzarella with sugo or mozzarella with cherry tomatoes or no sugo or.mozzarella with no tomatoes! And then I asked for black pepper to be told that the chef doesn’t ‘allow’ black pepper because of the ‘sensitive flavours’ in the pizza. A bill of $140 for one burrata, 4 pizzas and a glass of wine is completely over the top. And what is the faint smell of chlorine masking? Give this one a miss,There are many other fantastic pizza restaurants in NYC to choose from.

The light, tender but chewy, unbelievably flavorful wild yeast crust is worth the trip alone!
The toppings, which are limited and also come in set combinations, may seem basic on the menu, but not when tasted! The San Mariano tomato sauce on the Margherita was unexpected - sweet, tangy ... yum! With the buffalo mozzarella and basil ... PERFECTION!
The Ilaria was highly recommended by our great waiter, and justifiably so. With lightly smoked mozzarella, cherry tomatoes and arugula, it was superb and a great complement to our Margherita pizza. The flavors of the ingredients shine in the simple combinations offered.
The salad was a great way to start the meal. Our waiter also recommended that we save room for dessert, and were so glad we did. He highly recommended the stracciatelli ice cream, an Italian style gelato sweet cream ice cream with chocolate bits. We have travelled throughout Italy tasting the gelato and this was perhaps the best of the non fruit gelatos we’ve ever had ... I would make a trip back just for this ice cream. It was incredibly smooth, rich and flavorful ... beyond perfection!
We have to make plans to return on a Friday or Saturday night when different special pizzas are offered!
Some have noted that prices are high, and they are high if you compare them to just any old pizza restaurant. But if you consider this a real meal, which it is, then it is well worth it! (12-inch pizzas run $19-$26.)
Above average pizza but a bit pretentious
Let me start off by saying that the margarita pizza is very good. However, a few disappointing things during the meal. The bathroom was not clean. And most importantly, we asked the waitress for olive oil and she refused to give it to us because “the chef doesn’t believe in that”. That was disappointing especially because two of the three pizzas were too dry and the crust was half the size of the pizza. We asked the people next to us and they agreed that due to the ratio, olive oil was needed. For a $25+ pizza, it should really be perfect.

Woaahh! This restaurant! Seriously one of the best pizza’s
I’ve ever had. The Apollonia (only on the menu on Saturdays) is thé best. When you’re here also order a small plate: burrata with blood orange. Such a fine combination, and só fresh.
The staff is supernice and talkative. A place to feel at home and a feast for your senses - taste at nr one of course!
Crust Is King
Cool spot off the beaten track in the East Village. Vibe is somewhere between "sparse hipster" and a "carefree pop up".
Uber kudos to chef for only having twelve(ish) items on the menu. Basically an even split between starters to share at the table and slightly larger than personal size personal pizzas. Screw the masses, eat what they tell you to eat.
The crust on the pizzas stole the show. Popping with perfectly burned bubbles and slightly yeasty. The toppings were all ace but missing a bit of seasoning.
Wine list felt super ambitious compared to the small menu. The final check felt more like paying for the lower east side real estate than what was on the plate but oh-well.
Bottom line, go here because pizza and because almost really really really good pizza in an epic neighborhood.
