We had an absolutely wonderful dinner at Toscano's on
We had an absolutely wonderful dinner at Toscano's on Charles Street last night for my daughter's 24th birthday. From the time we walked in throughout the evening everyone wished her a happy birthday. The service was excellent as was the food. The birthday girl had a sea bass dish that was amazing, my other daughter had the bruschetta and a pizza and I had a combination risotto as I couldn't decide which I wanted. All were absolutely delicious. To top it off, they brought the birthday girl a panna cotta dessert which was delicious as well. This was not our first time at Toscano's and it will not be our last. They have our highest rating.

We showed up to the restaurant without having a reservation but were greeted by the host kindly. We stood outside for about 15 minutes before they were open but they let us in early. Most of us got the restaurant week menu and it's a very good deal. The bread was good and idk what that balsamic vinegar and olive oil was but it's soooo good. I got the smoked salmon: it was good and the olive was interesting but quite salty as the olives are. Rigatoni truffle was pretty good , not too heavy. You get a good whiff of the truffle. Pana cotta was yummy but I was too full! We had a great time. The service was attentive and the place look really nice and classy. Great vibes to catch up with old friends. Definitely take advantage of the restaurant week menu when you can.

Attentive and professional, if not friendly service. High-quality food. All members of our party really enjoyed what we ordered. Very comfortable room with adequate space between tables. As good as anything in the North End without the crowds and parking problems. Definitely coming back.

WOW! Amazing Italian dining in Boston, walking distance from Harvard Square. Our party of 5 came on a Thursday evening with NO reservations around 7pm and were pleasantly surprised to get a seat on the high top tables adjacent to the bar area and open kitchen. It's a beautiful restaurant with variety of small tables, booths, and longer tables. Staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Food: DELICIOUS! AMAZING! Fresh made pasta and wonderfully crafted pasta sauces, and proteins. The pictures speak for themselves, and you really cannot go wrong with any choice. So much so that our group each chose a different dish for ourselves and shared a little with each other so we could try as many different dishes. I can't really pick one favorite, since they all were delicious. I would say it depends on what you're looking or hankering for. On this night, I was really drawn to Pappardelle pasta, so that was my choice. But really, if you were looking for a type of pasta like gnocchi or farfalle or rigatoni, or a type of sauce or protein...so many options to meet your needs! A "MUST TRY" in the Boston area for sure!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent evening out at Toscano.
I had a steak that was terrific and my date had a salmon special. They even made a chicken parm dinner for her daughter. The service was above and beyond. We enjoyed looking out onto Charles Street in the comfortable dining room.

Attentive, charming waitstaff in traditional Italian restaurant. Not as food food as some of the places in North End. Pizza was meh. Veal pizzaola was tough and not very herbed. Gelato was similarly not as flavorful as I expected. Basically food was meh. Nice atmosphere

Daniel, our server, guided us through an exceptional meal. From the wine, entree, sides and dessert our meal was exceptional. We will definitely be coming back whenever we are in town.

Wow. Been coming to Beacon Hill area for the past several years and never tried Toscano, but tonight just went there in a whim. To say that it was an incredible dishing experience would be an understated. Our server, Daniel, was outstanding. Every single recommendation he made from the wine to the entrees to the desserts were perfect. We are probably going back tomorrow and again and again

The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. I could not decide between the scallops/leak/spinach meal or the gnocchi special. The server suggested I order the scallops & add a side of the gnocchi. Both were amazing! I was not able to finish, but was so happy I was able to try both.

Always excellent food and service. Lots of menu options to suit any palate. Fillet of Sole, Mushroom Rissoto, Veal Scaloppine, Mussels and Bruschetta last night all excellent. Go to for special occassions and getting together with friends.

Nice ambiance but the 2top table was squeezed into the front window. My husband and I shared the Caesar salad which was very bland. I'm glad I paid to add the anchovies for some flavor. The mussels were good albeit under seasoned. I ordered the tagliatelle boscaiola (mushroom) Even with fresh ground pepper and grated Parmesan added the dish was absolutely tasteless. I tried 3 bites then gave up truly disappointed. My husband had the rack of lamb which he said was ok but didn't finish. After they cleared our table they asked about my full meal not being touched so I had to say I didn't care for it. They graciously removed the charge from the check which was very kind. Boston has so many delicious Italian restaurants to visit so I wouldn't recommend Toscano Beacon Hill.

You don't need my review for that. This is a well oiled machine. Our server William was obviously in a mood tonight and it dampened our special meal. You know how a waiter can be checked out? Almost annoyed that's he/she is working? Well that's how it felt with William. Unenthusiastic, terse, not very engaging and certainly not in tune with our table. It made me aware of how important servers can be in an overall meal experience. William check yourself!

Be the first to ReplyBeautiful and comfortable dining room, very good service.
Appetizers, salads and rolls were excellent.Disappointment-Spaghetti with mixed seafood- this dish was very bland and had very small pieces of clams and squid and baby shrimp. Really? For a place like this this dish should have a couple large shrimp and a few large pieces of calamari and maybe a few clams in shell for looks as well as a sauce with more flavor. Unfortunately, three of us out of five ordered this very blah dish.Deserts were fine but not one chocolate!! or lemon item.

just nowNEW-EditDine in | Dinner | $50-100Allow me to praise the bartenders . They are really great . In addition, the food is also very good. What lacks luster and disgraces this establishment are the hosts. They , when you walk in give you a time frame as to how long you can stay. This effectively makes a paying customer feel unwelcomed. In addition, when you try to make a reservation on the website for 1 , the website does not allow this ( why not - why dismiss one party.. it seems unbalanced.).So I request the following:Respect for single partiesAllow single parties to make a reservation on your websiteBe respectful to all customers whether it is a single party or not as a single party of today could be a group of 10 tomorrow.I am cognizant of the fact that tables need to turn over- be reminded how many customers will shy away if they are leftto feel unwelcomed. With respect

Stopped in last night with my girlfriend and her family, ordered the linguine vongole and it was amazing. Our server Peter was fantastic. 10/10 experience highly recommend
Be the first to ReplyWent here for a birthday dinner with my girlfriend.
Beautiful interior, makes for a nice date night. We had the salsiccia for an appetizer which was very tasty and I would say fairly authentically Italian. The pappardelle bolognese was absolutely delicious. I am a big bolognese guy and I would say this is definitely worth it. The patate al forno was a bit disappointing in my opinion. Not bad, just a bit bland. Would recommend stopping by here for date night.

Came here for a company dinner. Every course was spot on and the service was exceptional.

We came to Toscano for my birthday dinner and everything from start to finish was fantastic. Our server, Peter, was 10/10. Started with meatballs, soup, and a Caesar, all delicious. We all had steak for our meals and each came out delicious and perfectly cooked. Peter was attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable of the menu. If you're in the neighborhood I would recommend this restaurant highly.

Given the restaurant's location, provenance and reviews - I thought I had chosen wisely for a 4th of July pre fireworks dinner - I was let down by the mediocrity of the food, which was not consistent with the prices. Was the food bad? No. Was it good enough to remember what I had or to what to return? Nope. I hate to compare the food to that of something from a mall or Tuscan Kitchen type of place, but I feel this is an accurate description.
