Excellent food, quick service and good portion size!
Excellent food, quick service and good portion size! Definitely will recommend if you are in the area
Be the first to ReplyAlways wonderful Thai food.
But the really special things are the two duck dishes -- the duck is perfectly cooked. Cozy but comfortable and great service. This has been my go-to for decades before any performance at City Center or Carnegie Hall.
Be the first to ReplyCame here for brunch for our first day here in NYC.
Wife was craving Thai food and walked into this place, probably since it looked busy (which is always good). Typical Thai appetizers were ordered and were really delicious. Could've ordered more but we were just starting our day. Great service as well!
Be the first to ReplyThis is a cute tucked away Thai place.
Very vibey, snug seating arrangement. Kind of looks like you're in the cabin of an old wooden ship. We had the Pad Thai with chicken and it was DELICIOUS! Will be going back.
Be the first to ReplyWay overpriced for average, not at all authentic, Thai food.
The Tom yum soup had a questionable flavor.
Be the first to ReplyHave been to Topaz multiple times over a course of decade
Have been to Topaz multiple times over a course of decade and it never disappoints. Ambiance has now turned little dated, it has always been a small restaurant with a cozy feeling so yes it can get crowded easily. Food is always top notch, fresh and delicious. No matter what you try it's always great. Service is prompt and attentive. This time around realized some of drink's prices are super inflated. Singha beer doesn't have price on menu but was charged $11. Also for 3 people dinner, automatic gratuity was added. This is more recent experience. For this reason 1 star taken off.
Be the first to ReplyCozy restaurant with small plates and small portions.
Food was adequate. It was seasoned well and came out quickly.
Be the first to ReplyGreat for lunch! Staff was a very cordial, accommodating
Great for lunch! Staff was a very cordial, accommodating and efficient team. Did a great job during crowded lunch time to keep things moving. Very cute, intimate feel with homey lights, decor and decorative plates and dishes. The only downside is that the tables are small, tight and close together but the food is really good and highly recommend the spring rolls!
Be the first to ReplyCompletely overrated placed.
Staff is pushy and want to order more food and drinks. Curry is incredibly salty so we had to order one extra rice. The rice was $5 which is fine but only half bowl!!!! You also have to sit back to back side by side with other people with little space. Just a horrible space for prob tourists only.
Be the first to ReplyGreat atmosphere, waitstaff was polite and offered great
Great atmosphere, waitstaff was polite and offered great menu advice. Green curry was amazing, drunken noodles were just as good! Make sure to get Thai ice cream for dessert! Everything we ordered was chefs kiss fantastic.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious Krapow Chicken with a bonus of stir-fried
Delicious Krapow Chicken with a bonus of stir-fried vegetable on the side. It is a healthy way of adding extra fiber to a Thai dish! Super friendly service at Topaz. I would go there again whenever I am in the Carnegie Hall neighborhood.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, great service, great cocktails, great ambiance.
Topaz has it all. If you're craving Thai food in midtown get yourself over to this place. You won't regret it.
Be the first to Replyservices was great and fast.
food came out right away. it was deliciously. staff was very friendly. we enjoyed ourselves and would come back again.
Be the first to ReplyThis restaurant has declined a lot.
The food is now clearly substandard and the service is very average. Even surly. Not only that, but we were a party of 6, and we discovered they had padded the bill and included a 20% tip hidden so well in the bill that we only noticed it after we left.I will never choose this place again
Be the first to ReplyIf you are near the Carnegie Hill area, trying to find food
If you are near the Carnegie Hill area, trying to find food before your show, I do recommend you to consider this place. You walk a little steps, and you enter into this restaurant where you find many tables. We sat towards the back. The food is decent and we had vegetarian pad Thai. This place ask you what type of tofu you want either fried or soft. Other places do not ask you that so I'd like that.We were in and out by half an hour or so.I did notice that the Thai iced tea is six dollars and I blame it on inflation.
Be the first to ReplyThis is hands down my favorite Thai restaurant ever!
This is hands down my favorite Thai restaurant ever! After eating here a few times over the past decade or so, I continue to come back any time I'm in the city. The spring rolls are fantastic and the red curry chicken (prepared medium) never disappoints.
Be the first to ReplyToo expensive $100 for basic entrees and two drinks.
It wasn't even good. :( Disappointed and disrespected.
Be the first to ReplyMissing ambiance.
There is nothing inside that indicates they are a Thai restaurant. No decor. Not the music. Not even the plates or bowls. Food is very average. Nothing unique. Good ration on the protein. When I ask for ice water, please put ice in my water! Or sell cold bottled water. Nothing more disgusting than warm faucet water. Price was not worth the taste or portion. $20 for Pad See Eew with beef and $10.99 for 4 small skewers of chicken. $6 for Thai iced tea that was fill with ice all the way to the top.
Be the first to ReplyThis was my second time dinning at Topaz Thai Authentic
This was my second time dinning at Topaz Thai Authentic restaurant in the heart of NYC. I'd dinned both on a Sunday and Friday evening and have to say this place is always filled and busy, but yet enjoyable. My friend and I are both fans of Pad Kra Prow. It's served with all type of meat sautéed with onions, peppers, carrots and the best Thai sauce/gravy in the entire world. We usually ordered our Pad Kra Prow with chicken. They also served either with brown or white rice. Honestly I so loved how amazingly tendered the chicken was cooked and mixed with the basil sauce. It was so totally delicious and although I was filled I'd greedily wanted more. Haha! I usually ordered my meal with a traditional Thai beer served in a very iced cold plastic mug. It's a bit salty, but you can't really taste the saltiness when combined with a spicy meal. The staff were so sweet and patience. They did not rush us as we took our time to scrolled through the menu. The services and atmosphere here was great! One of the staff was telling me just about everyone who works there are from Thailand. Haha! I think that's pretty cool and so authentic.I would definitely visit again in the future. Highly recommend eating here if you are a Thai foodie.
