Average - at best
Went for lunch. Got quesadillas, tacos, and fajitas. Quesadilla ($17.99) was unremarkable. The beef fajitas (22.99) were skirt steak and very tender but didn't have much flavor. Flour tortillas were kind of thin and tore easily. Salsa was mild and somewhat sweet. $12.99 for a bowl of queso, $3.85 for an iced tea. Refried beans tasted like they were right out of an Old El Paso can. They were warm but certainly not hot and refried. Rice was flavorless. Staff cleared the beans and rice plate without asking if finished and gave the impression they were hurrying us on our way. I don't know why because the place certainly wasn't busy, which didn't shock me after having lunch there. Average at best for a faux Mexican restaurant but far from the Tex-Mex you can find about anywhere in the area.

Good tex-mex food. Service was great. Seems like a friendly neighborhood place. Appeared to me many repeat customers.

I was looking forward to a nice night out with my wife after the winter weather and power outages all week so we decided to try this place out instead of our favorite place in Sugar Land, Carmelos. It was totally packed when we arrived, which is normally a good sign. After waiting half an hour to get a spot, we sat down and decided to get a few margaritas to unwind. One spicy without salt, one normal with. The drinks came out and the orders were flipped, mine had no salt and my wife's had salt on her spicy margarita. No big deal, they're busy and mistakes happen. When I told our waiter that it was a mistake and it was supposed to be the opposite, his only response was sorry, it's a busy bar night. Nothing we can do. I even offered to drink my wife's drink if they could bring us a new spicy margarita without salt so she could have what we paid for. Nope, again evaristo replied that the bars busy and it's not his problem. I wanted to leave and just let them drink the mistakes but it was our first night out in awhile so we stayed. Next up was guacamole. It was good if you like mashed up avocado with no other flavor other than some tomato and onion here and there. Again, they're busy so maybe it was just bad luck. Finally the entrees come. My wife is vegan so she ordered the vegetarian chalupas, no cheese or sour cream. They come out and yup...cheese is all over them. Evaristo actually apologized, which I didn't know he knew how to do, and said it would be fixed. 5 minutes later they bring out tostadas that looked like they're straight from the taco bell down the road. Just two flat tortillas with beans and lettuce and tomato. And the sauteed veggies she asked for on the side were brought out cold and just steamed without any flavor. On the bright side, my burrito was decent and actually lived up to its name as being gigantic. But I would much rather give my money to Carmelos that had a much better tasting burrito for less money and most importantly, waiters that actually give customer service. We still gave a 20 percent tip because Raul was great and waited on us for half of the time but I'll never return to this place because of Evaristo and his lack of caring about doing his job. Maybe a busy night made him lose focus on his sole responsibility to serve his customers as a waiter, but these are two customers and everyone they talk to that will never come back. Do yourself a favor and make margaritas at home and go to taco bell for the same quality food and better customer service than this place. Unless you want to get some overpriced "chalupas" as shown in the picture.

Haclenda Real Mexican Grill was our last Foodie stop on the Pedego Bike Tour in CCR. The green sauce is our favorite! Enjoyed sitting on the patio and visiting!!
Be the first to ReplyCompletely Flavorless! As Enjoyable as a Mexican TV Dinner.
For the life of me I donโt understand the appeal of this place. The food is bland and completely flavorless. Not just โnot spicy,โ but COMPLETELY DEVOID of flavor and personality...and they consistently deliver that lack of flavor across the board. My husband described the salsa as having โa distinct Campbellโs Tomato Soup quality.โ Cheese enchilada red sauce has a dominant flavor of chili powder. Crispy taco has zero seasoning in the meat. Guacamole is creamy, but has zero flavor. (The HEB a block away has MUCH better flavor!). Queso reminds me of a lighter colored nacho cheese from can that covers carnival nachos... Mexican food is my favorite, and I enjoy a variety of dishes from numerous restaurants. As a Fulshear resident, I want to support local businesses. But i just canโt. There is absolutely nothing here worth eating, unless bland and flavorless is your thing.
Be the first to ReplyThere is mexican, Tex-mex and then....THIS
Food is TERRIBLE! There is nothing fresh about it. Lemonade is from syrup, margarita is made with the cheapest tequila and syrup, so much that I asked for another one not so strong and they could not make it because it is pre-made. Plantains are dry probably from the day before, guacamole was half made, we ended up mashing the avocados ourselves. We were 5 people and we all ate 2 bites of our food and left our drinks intact. The worst of all was that the waitress was not surprised when she cleaned our plates, as if she knew how terrible the food was. Oh and.... we paid 100 usd ๐ก never again.... if you have experience eating good food please avoid this.

Be the first to ReplyGreat Authentic Tex-Mex Food
I had heard of this restaurant from friends, mixed reveiws, so I thought I would check it for myself since I grew up eating Tex-Mex all my life at home. I had a little it of everything, margarita's, nachos, main dishes. We foud the food to be vey authentic, tasty, and plentiful size servings. The Big Rigo (a queso with meat appetizer) was very delicious. The tostado's are always a quick give away of whether the food is authentic - these tostada chips were on target, fresh, homemade and flavorful - great way to start a meal. The margarita was very good, my wife found the margarita to be perfect. My wie had the chicken mole enchilada, this is a hard dish to find anywhere but when a restaurant takes on the challange of attempting this dish it is either dead on perfect or a disaster. The Real Hacienda got it PERFECTLY right - my wife ordered another plate to take home so she could enjoy the mole enchilada again at a later date at home. She had the refried beans with the meal and they were tasty. I hade the Combo Tex Mex plate (tamale, charro beans, chalupa, and enchilada - big servings and very delicious. The tamale stood out, again a hard dish to make but the restaurant got it right!!! We had the wait staff come by our table several times making sure evevrything was right, I love it when the staff comes to you and you dn't have to wave them down. It was refreshing to see that ownership cares about servicing the customer. Prices are reasonable, our dining experience was excellent. I recommend this restaurant as one of the better Tex Mex food restaurants.
Be the first to ReplyGood food. Nice atmosphere. Standard
Your basic Mexican fare restaurant. Good food, reasonable portions. Nothing super special. Nothing negative. Fair prices. Two adults with house margaritas- $40.

We were looking for a new Mexican restaurant in the area and though we would try Hacienda Real Mexican Grill & Cantina. Granted it was a busy Friday evening but the service albeit polite was slow. They missed our appetizers and the food came out cold. Points for homemade food (not frozen) but could have had a lot more flavor. We wonโt be back for seconds.

The place has been around for a while, but just saw it the other day and thought about giving it a try. The staff was pleasant and the food arrived quickly. The food was better than average and the prices were relatively middle of the road. The establishment was clean, but really lacked any character. I will go back.
