Be the first to ReplyGreat food, bad table
This is our second time visiting Tomino. It was a Saturday and it was buussyyyy! I booked the table a month ahead for my husbands birthday and was disappointed to see that it was opposite the bar, even though it was a good sized booth, with seats on three sides. That was not the issue as it turned out..... We had some good drinks and started to work through some of the excellent tapas. We realised that women were starting to congregate at the side of our table, and before long we had quite the audience...turns out there is only one toilet and the line went straight next to our table (on the side with no seating) Bored ladies were just watching us eat - felt like we had several new friends, and should've invited them to taste the food! Obviously it wasn't their fault - there should've been more than one toilet. Axel was our server, and was very apologetic, could not have been a nicer guy. So thank you very much to him. When you book a month ahead, and state that it's a birthday celebration, I don't believe you should be given the worst table in the house. I had rung a few a few days before with a question not related to tables, the hostess misheard me and said "all I've got is a table in front of the bar"..... I didn't realise that was obviously an issue. Food is great, staff are great too. Just make sure you don't get that table when you book! We will be back however.
Be the first to ReplyHigh quality tapas dining experience.
Our family of four had a sensational evening of totally delicious tapas courses. Service is efficient, anticipatory and professional. Highly recommended dining experience in Soho.

This is the first tapas place I've been to I didn't like. Food was mediocre and service was truly inadequate. We waited about 20 minutes to have our drink order taken. Even more unusual was I left something uneaten as it was not at all tasty.
Be the first to ReplyWorst Lunch Ever
have been coming to Tomiño for years and always been pleased by terrific food and service. Today, we had the worst lunch experience ever. All the waiters are new. Our waiter Juan H is the worst. When our waiter came over, I quickly ordered a bottle of Raventos cava, ham croquetas, tortilla betanzos and pulpo. After 10 minutes, Juan came with our cava, uncorked and served it. It was terribly warm. I told him it needed chilling. His response “oh I knew I had to tell you but I forgot” Really!!! You tell me this after you uncork and serve it??? Serving warm cava in an authentic spanish restaurant like Tomiño is a capital offense. I told him to keep on ice. He served the cava after 15 minutes and it was still warm, I had to put ice in it. Our waiter seem undisturbed by this. We waited about 25 minutes without food. Croquettes take 2 minutes to prepare yet I saw several tomahawk steaks come out of the kitchen. Our waiter kept walking around, seeing us without food but seemed undisturbed. I told him “no food has come to our table”. He looked surprised. Came back 5 minutes later to apologize blaming it on the printer. Food came but was cold. 2 hours later we paid the check and left. Never coming back.

Everything was outstanding. High quality food, good atmosphere. We were really impressed by food and welcoming place
Be the first to ReplyDelicious food; beautiful interior.
Took the family (two teenagers) out for a nice dinner as Spanish food is hard to find near us. We all loved the various dishes: blistered peppers; patatas bravas; croquettes; ribs. You name it and we likely tried it. Everything was on point and amazing. Easily earns 5-stars.
Be the first to ReplyExtremely fast and professional when one of us broke a glass
generally happy with the tapas. Extremely fast and professional when one of us broke a glass. Casual and very professional waiter. EXCELLENT tarta de Santiago dessert, with a cruz gallega on top!

Great fresh tapas, for gist lovers and for non fish lovers, but nothing compares to the deserts. Tart were absolutely fantastic!

I didn't need to go to Spain to experience amazing food from Spain. In fact, I believe it is better than when I went to the actual Spain. Ole!
Be the first to ReplyA lovely place for sharing plates
Ambience was good and tapas were amazing. Service was prompt though the servers can use a little more smiles. Maybe it’s just New York or maybe because we are Asians. The online reservation was easy. Portions were just nice for sharing. We had the grilled octopus and pimentos were done perfectly. The baby back ribs and sausage platter was great too. Only the seasonal vegetable which were cauliflower and brocolli were a little bland.

This place is a gem. The food is unusual and very well prepared. The tortilla and the tomahawk ribeye are A+. The wine list is full of great Galician wines and the service is terrific.

Definitely make a reservation. We did not have a reservation but sat at the counter which was perfectly fine for a party of 2. the Octopus (Pulpo A Feira) was really good. must try. We shared the Arroz Caldoso con Bogavante, it's the almost equivalent of paella but a bit more soupy so the rice was a bit mushier. Flavor was good but I think I prefer a good paella. This dish is enough food for probably 3 or 4 ppl. Waiter was very nice, the service was pretty quick. The hostess, when we went on a Saturday early evening, was not so friendly but not overly rude neither.

Be the first to ReplyComida increíble, rude rude waiter
We chose restaurants carefully in NYC to avoid burgers, pizzas etc all the time and as we love Spanish food we thought we’d try this place after much research. The food and atmosphere were really lovely, amazing pulpo a la gallega, croquetas, patatas bravas and Albariño wine. Felt authentic and lots of lovely Spanish owners hanging around. The really disappointing and upsetting thing about this experience is we spent $132 and paid $140 when ‘one’ of the waiters who came to collect the money started counting it in front of us and said ‘do you realise the check doesn’t include the service charge?’ I nodded and said yes he then proceeded to say ‘well the suggestion is $10 more’ and I said ok he then asked if there was anything wrong with the service to which I said no of course not he then gave us a tirade of abuse saying well when we go to your country we respect your culture and traditions and so you should do that when you come to ours which meant for a very awkward scenario as he stormed off. We quietly got up to leave and on the way out he brusquely brushed against us sarcastically saying well you enjoy your evening! It’s really sad that this happened at the end of a wonderful meal but I’m sorry several waiters attended us serving food as you’d expect but I didn’t feel it necessary to be harassed into giving a huge tip when it is after all just a ‘suggestion!’ We left this lovely place with heavy hearts having been spoken to so appealingly I’m sure had we only spoken to the Galician owners they’d have felt as equally embarrassed as tipping in Spain is not necessarily the done thing anymore. Are wages so terribly in New York that the waiter felt so compelled to abuse customers who had just spent $140?? Just a real shame in a culture that ‘prides’ itself on customer service!
Be the first to ReplyDelicious food - highly recommend!
We had a great time at Tomiño. The food was excellent, particularly the pulpo which was so good we ordered a second portion! Desserts were great too. Brilliant service and the restaurant had good vibe (busy but we could hear ourselves speak). We really enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend.

Spanish tapas is our favourite cuisine and we’ve tried several restaurants, not just where we live (Toronto) but also in several cities around the world. This is one of the (if not the) best Spanish tapas meals we’ve ever had. Even the wine (Albarino de Fefinanes) was excellent, as was the service. Highly recommend!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent tapas
I ordered the tripe stew, ribs, octopus (pulpo á feira) and squid ink rice (arroz negro). All of them were excellent! One of the best Spanish food I've had outside of Spain. The portions are very generous for tapas, so do be careful not to over-order.

Be the first to ReplyRude egotistical bartender
I visited Tomino Galaccia yesterday as I was in Little Italy, NY for the San Genero Festival. I was seated at the bar enjoying a drink, when I witnessed the barback inadvertently shatter a glass. He happened to have shattered the glass over a tray of serving cups. The logical thing to do would be to rinse out the cups as a precaution. The bartender (who may not have seen the glass shattering incident) grabbed one of the glasses on the tray and began to make a drink. I kindly suggested that maybe he should rinse the glass out as there may be tiny fragments inside and someone who drinks it could get cut. He resonds,"Don't mess with the bartender". I was perplexed by this response as I thought I was being helpful. I asked,"What are you talking about?" He repeated, "Don't mess with the bartender". I approached the general manager to tell him what occurred and he immediately processed my bill and gave it to me. I asked, "You're asking me to leave because I warned the bartender about a possible health related issue?" The general manager replied, " Yes, because I believe him, not you". I responded, "You should believe your camera, it's facing the exact spot where the incident occurred". With that, I paid my tab and left. It would have cost zero dollars and zero cents to rinse the glass out but his ego decided it was far more important to talk down to a paying customer. Then the general manager backs his behavior. I will never go there again!!!!

Truly outstanding dining experience! Authentic Spanish food with a very attentive and helpful waitstaff. The ribs, mushroom dish and lamb chops were incredible. Great wine list. So glad we found this gem!
