Extreme disappointment with your location, made
Extreme disappointment with your location, made reservations for our wedding anniversary several days ago. Last evening, came in for our reservation .... and then were seated in the bar for an Anniversary reservation? It was a loud music environment, and could not hear my wife at the tight/cramped table that also had a dirty chair. This while the restaurant area was not busy and large percentage of open seating. No one was following your dress code as you sent me and said was required - there were numerous people in shorts, baseball hats, and flip flops? Why send a specific notice on our reservation on dress code, etc.. and then not even live your own message? We then waited after being seated at our table for approximately 15 minutes with no service, so we left. The location was not even that busy at the time? Servers hanging out and talking in a circle? No one focused on the customer? We left and mentioned to the front desk about no service or contact sitting there and the disappointment - the attitude of the location and staff was that of "who cares". Simply put this was the worst customer service I have experienced at a restaurant. Then - I get an email today thanking us for dining with them and looking forward to our next reservation with a link sent to make another reservation? Completely automated and out of touch.

Wow wow wow! Oh my goodness! This place is incredible, I ordered the carne asada tacos and man THESE THINGS WERE AMAZING! I also tried the short rib enchiladas which had such a great pop and flavour to them. Don't get me wrong this place is not very cheap but to be honest I didn't care how much the bill was going to be after trying that food. Service was great and very respectful The ambiance was incredible. It had a modern look and to me is the perfect style and design. Wowza, yippie!! Will return. Thanks Toca, I will be returning. I love this place! Been twice now and incredibly impressed both times. Everything is on point from the service to the food to the drinks. Most recent time we started with the calamari and then I had to the salmon while my date had the short rib enchiladas. Portions are good sized but not over the top. Sides were plenty to share. Atmosphere is swanky and fun. Lots of parties and pretty people dressed to impress. Can't wait to go back, even tho it's definitely a splurge night!

After having to chase down a reply for reservations, someone finally responded to my email and informed me that if you want to reserve a table for 9 people you have to spend $160pp?! that's absolutely ridiculous!!! If you want to claim to be a nice restaurant, the first thing you may want to work on is responding to customer inquiries first.

Fun for birthdays or events! The cocktails are all really good, I got the toca margarita with a tajin rim which is the perfect classic margarita. They bring you tortilla chips/plantain chips and pico when you are seated. We got guacamole to start which was great as well. We got the truffle quesadilla, enchiladas, street corn, and the mariscos. Will definitely be back!

Came here for brunch and loved the ambiance as it smelt like sweet vanilla and cinnamon. The light colors, with natural lighting, and greenery. I love the vibes! The food was also yummy. The potatoes were very crispy and delicious!

This place was such a vibe!! A+++ for the food, presentation, drinks, service, entertainment, and interior decor! Went here for dinner, very pricey dishes, but well worth it! Each bite it EVERYTHING was phenomenal and pleasing to the palate (actual every sense). I truly wanted to savor every bite, the aromas, and sips of my delicious food and cocktails. Also, friendly, thoughtful, super attentive and might I add-- good-looking servers as well! Ha! Make your reservation now! Go!

Delicious food in a club atmosphere
Went here for our anniversary celebration. Loved the ambiance at first arrival. Seemingly fun vibe. We were disappointed however, when booking our reservation months in advance and specifically stating anniversary celebration that we were seated at a loud table in the bar area. Our table was also at the corner of a major walkway/corner where our outside chair, was frequently bumped and those gathered at the bar hung out closely. Lastly, the music was so loud that those sitting at the tables next to us were all shouting just to talk to each other . We in turn couldn’t hear each other even across a table for two and ended up texting for the majoring of our meal. If super loud is your vibe, choose bar seating. Service was great. Food was delicious. Likely won’t return due to noise factor and subpar seating.
Upscale Mexican with a cool vibe.
A Mexican restaurant with a cool interior and chic vibe, seems a place to go when you want to be seen. Excellent margaritas selection. Will return to give dinner a try, and perhaps see the fire dancer.
Nice decore and good Food, but expensive.
Went for drinks and appetizers and desert. Drinks were good. Had the Chiquita Banana, $18 and the Guava Margarita, $19. I had the Toco Caesar salad that was very good. $20. Also had the Truffle Quesadilla with fresh black truffle. They give you 3 Quesadilla for $34. It is expensive but tasted good. Had the Dama De Los Muertos. Nice presentation. Consisted of peanut butter mouse, covered in milk chocolate in the shape of a skull for $25. I also had the raspberry sorbet for $12. Drinks and the food we had were good but it is very expensive.
Awful Service
Let me start off by saying that the atmosphere is what attracts patrons to this restaurant, and on that front it certainly does not fail. There is a fire dancer who performs a few times per night which is pretty cool. Request a table along her walkway. Be warned: Toca Madera is definitely "Bachelorette Central" - full of tipsy bridesmaids simply there for the Instagram. All that aside, my main complaint, however, is regarding the service - our waitress was clearly trying to move us along as quickly as possible, and seeing that we had an 8:45 Tuesday reservation, I am not quite sure her reasoning (by the time we left at 10 the place was half dead). She moved us along so fast, we were there BARELY an hour. My brother was done eating, I was not, and she zoomed over to take his plate and ask us about dessert. Meanwhile, I was still finishing my main meal. The service left a really poor taste in our mouth. The mushroom quesadilla starter was excellent. Enchiladas were pretty good, too. To finish, we both ordered their famous passionfruit shots which are lit on fire - $26 each! Even for Don Julio Blanco, that is a total rip off. Not sure if this spot is worth leaving your wallet.
Best vibe + service + food
Had the BEST time! From the minute we walked in and were greeted by the sweetest hostess (with amazing white boots) to our exit, our experience was amazing! Colby was our server and was kind, approachable and knowledgeable. We loved him! My Caesar salad was ahhhhmazing and my daughter’s breakfast enchiladas were on point! Everyone working displayed knowledge in their craft AND were kind and smiling. Looking forward to our next dining experience there!

Was a really cool visit and worth the trip for the vibe and young fun atmosphere. Drinks were yummy and different. Two kinda suggestions, its a bit pricy unless its a special occasion and the music(which i liked) was a bit loud to hold a conversation.

The ambiance was really nice as well as the fire dancer. The food here was good. We ordered a bunch of appetizers to share. I highly recommend the guacamole. The wagyu sliders were a bit disappointing, not the best quality. The steak was pretty good though! The fire shots are pretty fun to capture a video of. The only annoying part is there is a $120 per person minimum spend so if you're going be prepared to order a lot of food / drinks.

Caesar salad excellent they do it A little different which I love. Got the short Rib tostaditas which are excellent. Ordered the ghost rider which they did Away with the rose sangria and one Other drink that's on the happy hour Menu. Lastly we ordered dessert love the Brown butter cake delicious and got The strawberry tres leches which was Excellent. Waitress treated us to a Brownie with ice cream cause it was A happy birthday dinner. Love this place never a disappointment

Simply lights out! Arguably the best restaurant in Scottsdale. Very entertaining and the food and drinks are always on point. They are the Patrick Mahomes of restaurants and bars! The only thing they have to improve are the worthless paper straws. Please switch to plant base straw if you're wanting to be sustainable.

I hosted a 17 person private event for my brother's bachelor party. It was the highlight of three trip and one of the best large-party dining experiences I've had. Bianca helped us plan the event and Christian was an amazing server. Christian kindly ordered our food, which was amazing and diverse. Asian and Mexican inspired food was amazing. We also had a private fire eating show, which was great. The main dining area seemed lively and fun as well. 10/10 would whole-heartedly recommend to anyone visiting.

My fiance & I brought my mom here for the first time, and she absolutely LOVED IT! We started off with the chicken tinga tostadas. The chicken was delicious. I honestly would have ordered two of those dishes as my entree. Next up was our cocktails. We had the los muertos with a side of pyro. The fire show is very impressive & fun to watch. For entrees, we blackened our salmon and ordered a side of brussel sprouts and cilantro lime rice. Everything was cooked perfectly & seasoned well. Yes, we saved room for dessert and ordered the buttercake. There was some sort of raspberry krisp on the side of the tres leches ice cream. SOOOO GOOD! The restaurant is very sexy, which is perfect for date night. We had a fantastic time!

no one returns calls or emails for group reservations
I have been trying to book for a group of 10 for my birthday, I put in a request twice online as they suggested and I still have not received any email or call back.

FABULOUS! Quite an adventure. Excellent Food and Entertainment. Gorgeous restaurant with great service and food. You may even be fortunate enough to see some celebrities while you are there. We saw Patrick Mahomes.
Worst customer service possible
Made a reservation. No email confirmation, just have the screen shot of the reservation number (thankfully) from when it through on the website. Ironically they have been spamming me non stop with emails despite not checking off the box that they could contact me with promotional information. Tried to call, email, send messages through the website, and send messages on IG. Absolutely nothing. Need to cancel my reservation and there is no way to go about this. But you know darn well they will charge my credit card the no show fee. Disturbing business practices.
Sexy Restaurant
Hello! Sexy Mexican Cuisine! You will not be disappointed! Gorgeous place! Fun and exciting atmosphere. Entertainment and nightlife after dinner. The bar was so much fun after dinner. I had the best espresso martini with tequila! I highly recommend!

Food was excellent very fresh and tasty, creative ...all good. Service is attentive and friendly. But please please please turn down the music!!!' This is so not conducive to a romantic date night when you can't hear each other .....
Bad vibes
The reservation system totally sucks. Reservation changed without asking me. When trying to fix it you learn they never answer their phone their phone mailboxes are full and there's no way on the reservation site to alter or cancel your reservation. So we couldn't go to the restaurant and they have every intention of charging my credit card for their screw-ups.

Nice vibe but very poor food quality. Everything was too salty and we couldn’t finish any of the appetizers or mains we ordered because of the salt! Calamari was too salty and oily and very average, the chicken was too dry! Very disappointed by the food. Eve though the vibe was good but I won’t go back.

We went and spent $$$$ on really great smaller portions of eats and AMAZING wines drinks and servers. However, as we literally were walking out of a remote exit: a dimwit, power tripping security said, “i love your energy but you’re done”. I said are you kidding me? As we are leaving? What rule did i violate? Response: yada yada yada garbage: A dimwit. Got asst GM manager involved — identified the wayward power tripping gumbah— free shots. I send a thank you to Asst. GM next day and crickets. Don’t waste your time coming here, how trashy of a situation. Outside security did NOT back up interior security; they said the security inside “make up reasons to kick people out”. Unbelievable. Dude with me was on Shark Tank, I’’m with Viper City Dance Team. Rotglmao. Idiots.

Went here for a Bachelorette and Lani and all the girls at the front were the absolute sweetest. Got all 17 girls sat together even though we had two separate reservations! The food was amazing and our waitress Sadie was so so sweet and made the best recommendations for food. The food was really good and the vibe was great. Overall 20/10 really recommend!!

..I wouldn't say it was worth it for brunch. The chips and salsa were pretty good. Guacamole is an extra $16. Maybe the entrees are presented more heartily for dinner but for brunch you just get the meat with no sauce. All the sides have to be purchased separately (and they're NOT cheap). Definitely be prepared to spend a good penny on rather small portions of food. Our server was relatively new so she didn't really know the differences between the brunch menu and dinner menu which wasn't super helpful. Overall, mediocre at best.

This was our first experience here in Scottsdale coming from Orange County and Los Angeles. High points: Having Britney and Brian as our servers. They were both pleasant, attentive, professional, and I could not have asked for a better team to serve us for our bachelorette celebration. As for the food, we ordered the Omakase dinner- ourfavorites included scallop, queso fondito, and the celebration dessert Britney brought us. Both Brian and Britney made our night. Thank you! Highly recommend to come back. Ps, drinks were wonderful!

Our first time here in Scottsdale and this beautiful restaurant. The ambiance and decor is so welcoming with an open concept bar and kitchen. The music and volume was on point. So fun and great vibe. On a Friday night, you need to definitely reserve or else you'll be waiting for awhile. What a great experience for our 5 girlfriends who came here for our friend's bachelorette party dinner. We ordered the omakase and it was so delicious! Our servers Brian and Britney were exceptional. They were so friendly and lovely. Gave us recommendations on the food and drinks and really took care of us. They came to our table checking in on us many times but in a non pushy or rude way. Their personalities are honestly great! It's not easy to wait on tables on a Friday night especially with many bachelorette parties going on

Our group of 10 was quickly sat in a private room. A wonderful place to come for a special occasion such as a birthday and anniversary. The servers were very attentive and always came in to make sure we were okay. They have complimentary valet which is very convenient.My friend and I shared 3 dishes and were surprisingly filled! We got the flat iron steak, truffle manchego fries, and sashimi. The steak was super tender and juicy. Cooked just the way we asked. Fries were crispy. Salmon sashimi was fresh and had a tasty dressing. Presentation of this restaurant is great and definitely nice for photo vibes.

We visited Toca Madera in Jan 19th, 2023 forSunday's brunch.
We sat near the bar with an OpenTable reservation and our waiter was simply amazing. Now that I'm finally getting around to writing the review I apologize that I cannot remember his name. He was friendly, helpful and even helped us take some pictures. Now onto the food, the 2 of us shared:Truffle Quesadilla - this was THE best item, although the complimentary corn bread with whip butter was really good too!We were actually craving some veggies and got a the Mexican Fattoush as an appetizer as well. For entree we shared the Mexican Enchiladas that has short ribs, fried egg and these really good potatoes. For dessert we got the tres leches French toast. I was so stuffed at this point, I was so sad I could not fully enjoy this. I know, 1st world's problem right? I'm not a big drinker but I do love my caffeine so our waiter suggested this Kahlua Coffee drink. That is not the actual name, but it was good and hit the spot for brunch!If you're looking into being silly like me, there's a photo spot booth on the way to the bathroom and you can send the video to your email or text. Now that I know Toca Madera is wonderful, I will bookmarked the West Hollywood location for when I want to brave the LA traffic out!

Never have I been treated with such respect, care and warmth. We were celebrating my friend's promotion, and Julia at the hostess stand and our server Selena made an unforgettable night, coordinating with each other, and even surprising us with a hibiscus shot and dessert at the end. What class!! And what an amazing vibe inside with fire dancers and a violinist. My first night in Scottsdale will forever be remembered with deep appreciation for the staff at Toca Madera!

I flew in for work for the week. I impromptu met up with a good friend and was able to get a last minute reservation on Open Table. I've only ever sat in the restaurant area and we ended up being sat in the back bar/dining area. Although not my first choice, it was still a nice area to sit. We started with Oysters and chips and salsa. We ordered Salmon and Cilantro rice for our main course and finished with the yummy Churro desert. The service and cocktails were prompt and friendly. I was finally able to see the fire dancers which made for a fun evening. I always look forward to coming here when I fly in from PDX.

Came here on a Sunday for a birthday brunch.
I will start by saying it seems the quality at this location is taking a dive. If you're coming to order the Los Muertos they have changed the sugar skull to sugar cubes which does not offer the same flame/caramelization of the sugar effect as before and also changed to flower petal bits rather than whole fresh flowers- for a $23 drink. It was explained that they no longer use the sugar skull bc of the flame but yall put two big sparklers on top of desserts?? Not to mention I just patronized the Vegas location two nights in a row and the sugar skull was used each time, as well as others who ordered it around the restaurant.The food was ok, got the breakfast enchiladas, the portion size was nice and I really liked the potatoes it came with. I did order a chicken and waffles to go and definitely should have looked at it first. I cannot believe the flat ironed out and overcooked chicken circles they are serving with the waffles. It looks like shrimp from Petes fish and chips and tasted horrible. Im sorry but this is extremely frustrating when an easy solution is to use hand battered chicken tenders if you arent going to use an actual chicken breast/wing/leg/thigh etc. Tbh it seems like this is just a menu item to keep up w the brunch crowd and restaurants. If its not gonna be done right just don't do it at all.Our waitress was a bit slow, not sure if she was pacing our table but we ordered champagne and told her we wanted drinks, after taking the champagne order she walked away and didn't come back until we had to ask another waiter. Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* BraveCloth47, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* BraveCloth47 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to BraveCloth47 for any questions Peter may have as BraveCloth47 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* BraveCloth47 now uses their connections at Toca Madera Scottsdale to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If BraveCloth47 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, BraveCloth47 receives the $200 reward which is credited to BraveCloth47's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Toca Madera Scottsdale!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
