Delicious hidden gem with elevated Asian fare.
Such a pleasant gem tucked away just waiting to be discovered. The food is exceptional. Traditional Asian dishes with added layers that add depth a delicious depth of flavor. We started with the smashed cucumbers which has a perfect crunch and tangy bite, and then we had the dumplings which were flavorful as well. The pork ribs fell off the bone with a rich sweet sticky sauce. We loved the cool vibe of the atmosphere, and the staff was terrific. I look forward to coming back here!
Be the first to ReplyComplaint on manager and workers in Tiger Folk.
On Tuesday (2 May) at 6:38 pm I called Tiger Folk, their number is +1(202)733-1152. I had a conversation with staff for 2 minutes, she helped me with a book table on Thursday (4 May) at 7 pm. I provided the number and name of a person, who is my boss. It was a significant day for him, he waited for it since November. When he came to Tiger Folk on 4th May at 7 pm, the staff of Tiger Folk told him that they don't have a reservation. Consequently, The restaurant was full and he should find a new place. But in this situation, the manager and his workers didn't apologies and told me that it was my mistake. BUT I have proof of a screenshot that I really spoke with the manager on Tuesday for 2 minutes. Their manager didn't do anything, I had a conversation yesterday by phone twice for 11 minutes and 3 minutes, and by email also. I asked to provide me a record of a call, but the manager wasn't interested in it. UNFORTUNATELY If you have an important event, please do not trust it to Tiger Folk. Because they will definitely ruin your best day.

This was our first visit and we cannot wait to return. The service was personable and the server very knowledgeable about the menu. We had the curry crab buns, chili green beans and the crispy pork belly plate. If there was anything that could have been better, we would say more crab and less puffy bun for that dish!

Tiger Fork has large portions and a cool vibe. I recommend the mapo tofu and the pork belly which were amazing, but skip the HK pan fried noodles. They were not as flavorful as the other two dishes. Service was lacking.

Atmosphere was great, service was wonderful. Friendly, off the beaten path gem! Do not be fooled because this is in an alley way. It's really inviting and you will not be disappointed. The waiter even gave us a little token to take home. Will be back!

The food was delicious! We sat at the bar and enjoyed all the excitement. It was the best combo rice I’ve ever had! We also enjoyed the buns as an appetizer.
Be the first to ReplyDecor and ambience better than the food
This place has great decor, but good and service only ok. Based on reviews, we had the mango hoisin buns and dumplings to start - not sure I’d order either again, though the buns looked amazing, the taste was average. The eggplant ma po tofu and green beans were quite good, the pork shoulder looked dry and unappetizing but was actually moist and tasty. Would have been nice for someone tor explain the little sauces that came w it. Our waiter was pleasant enough, but forgot serving spoons for dishes and plates and spoons for the shared dessert / Asian s’mores, which was probably the best thing we ordered. I can’t believe this restaurant has such a great reputation for food - we were really disappointed. We love Asian as well as Asian fusion offerings, but won’t return anytime soon.

Amazingly tasty food! The dumplings were fresh and flavorful. The green bean peanut butter sauce was out of this world! The fried rice was the best we have ever had. Not to mention our delicious cocktails and dessert! Our waitress Hannah was friendly, attentive and helpful with our food and drink selection. We can’t say enough about this restaurant. Thank you!

Great restaurant tucked away in Blagden alley. It feels like you stumbled on a gem. The food is delicious, we especially liked the combo fried rice. On the night we went, the service left something to be desired, but we will visit again.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing non-typical Asian dining
Excellent and non-mainstream Asian food! Excellent service! They automatically charge 20% for service, though. Only 2 dessert options and both were amazing. Waitress was really nice and helpful with our 2 kids. Place is hidden, you have to take a dark alley to find it because it is not in the Main Street, makes it more mysterious and interesting! Super recommended.
Be the first to ReplyNice and tucked away
My friend wanted to come here for her birthday so of course I had to make the birthday girl hella happy! I like how this place is in the cut-nice and tucked away. The ambience is romantic, extremely dim lighting.
The food was fresh and I dont have any complaints other than like the cucumber dish we got was extremely salty, so wouldn't order that again. But its a very cute place
Feeling adventurous? Try that waffle dessert!!
Late night dinner
Stopped by here for a late night dinner.
The menu is very limited. Not a lot of options. It’s based on Chinese food but with a twist. The servings are small but tasty.
Alley Surprise
Within walking distance from the Renaissance Hotel. We did not have reservations but was able to accommodate 6 of us for Sunday Brunch. It was a very limited menu with interesting selections and was only for the brunch. There is also a dinner menu with more selections.
I cannot remember the exact name of the dishes but one appetizer had wide noodles stuffed with a shrimp pate with a sweet soy sauce drizzled over top; another was a soup with steak and noodles, one breakfast item was the French Toast waffle that the grands enjoyed and one entree was the Quail (fried) with mustard greens, rice and spicy sauce.
Everyone enjoyed the meal and looking forward to sharing a meal from the dinner menu.
Oh, the location is one of many restaurants whose entrances are through renovated garages in alleyways; truly creative!
Enjoyable dinner with a beautiful ambience
We weren’t super hungry when we got here so we only managed to try the beef chow fun, but wow that was delicious with plenty of the “wokhei” (charred taste from cooking in a high-heat wok) flavor that is hard to get in home cooking. If you’re obsessed with spicy food like me, ask for lots of extra chilli on the side. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and had a great ambience for a date night. We’ll be back next time to try more dishes!

Took my oldest daughter for her birthday (25th). Fantastic food. Great service. Go for the fun of it and share share share. You’ll have a great night.
Be the first to ReplyIf you can find the door, you're in for a treat
If you can find the door, you're in for a treat. Look for the red store front with the big black octagon window, as there is no sign per se.
Tiger Fork offers a varied selection of lunch/brunch items, including Dim Sum, Congee and entrees. We shared all three and enjoyed a nice variety. Snow pea leaves were reminiscent of bok chow and very tasty, as were the pork buns and shumai. The Congee was served in a large bowl with smaller bowls for each person to serve themselves, however the "toppings bar" went on the large bowl, so everyone had to be in agreement. It would be a better process to have the server scoop the congee into the smaller bowls and let everyone choose their own toppings.
In spite of the small size of the restaurant, and the fact that it wasn't at all crowded (Sunday afternoon), we could never find our server and had to literally flag him down for service.
Top Chinese Restaurant
Went here at recommendation of our Hotel staff and there was a long wait with no reservation. We were able to get seated at the bar quickly and the cocktails were really unique, tasty and creative. The entrees were probably the best Chinese I have ever experienced- can't wait to go back!
Be the first to ReplyDefinitely a Good Fork! With Drinks!
So there's no question that this is a unique dining experience and well worth finding! The drink menu has plenty of options to meet your personal preferences, and the atmosphere will definitely feel like it has a youthful vibe. But the star here is the food. Many thanks to Chris for taking us through the menu and offering perfect recommendations! My only regret is that the food is so filling we only got to try a few things! Guess we'll have to make a trip back. :)
