Visiting a friend who lives next door and we wanted a quick brunch on our lunch hour. I got the eggs over easy. They eggs were cooked beautifully, the home fries were well seasoned, the toast was delicious, and the orange was a cute and yummy touch! she got the eggs Benedict & a coffee:) The staff was very friendly, it was a quiet and nice ambiance with good music (dear Maria, check yes Juliette vibes)
Be the first to ReplyAnother great Sunday brunch at Thornton's! Really good food
Another great Sunday brunch at Thornton's! Really good food in a very casual neighborhood-y vibe atmosphere. I got my usual Spanish omelette which has onions and bell peppers and is topped with marinara sauce. Comes with oven roasted potatoes and toast. Very filling and satisfying meal. I even have some leftovers for a lunch tomorrow! Hubs got the eggs Felix which comes on a muffin along with turkey tomatoes and avocado, and also comes with side of potatoes. He also ordered the Spanish coffee which looked great and he enjoyed it. Service was friendly and efficient. Best of all, the prices are very reasonable- $13-$14 for the egg dishes which is amazing. In fact the coffee was almost the same at $12 because it had rum in it! But overall this place checks all the boxes!

Super delicious and easy brunch, prompt service, and a friendly dining atmosphere-- you can't go wrong! Longwood has a lot of great options for food and I'm glad that I came across this somewhat hidden gem. When I came, it wasn't too busy on a weekend morning which was a plus. Would highly recommend coming here for brunch, they have lots of great options. Really tasty home fries. I shall be back!!

Always a go-to brunch spot as a Simmons student no matter if it's on dates or when my family visits! No shortage of delicious options - the eggs benedict is some of the best I've ever had. It's always busy but we are seated and served super timely! I've sat both inside and outside - I love both. I love taking the city in outside, but the positive vibes radiate inside as the weather gets colder. You'll have nothing but a good experience here.

Thirsty Thursday wing deal is amazing! 5/5 Love getting wings here. The deal is 3 wings for $1 with the purchase of a drink that's about $5-$6. 30 wings end up being ~$0.50 each. Not a bad deal! Wings are a bit on the smaller side and are all dumped onto one plate so they get mixed, but the flavors are not bad. There's a decent amount of variety in flavors and service is quick. The place is has a decent amount of seats with lots of windows so it can get a bit cold during winter. Typical bar scene, no frills. There's a couple spots for parking outside the place, but outside of those spots it is permit parking only. If you don't have a permit for the area there are parking spots a few blocks away down the street (~10 min walk away). Very casual spot to meet up with friends and enjoy a drink with wings!
Be the first to ReplyWent for breakfast.
Food was good. Not much of a breakfast place but I bet a good pub to watch a game.

Excellent neighborhood bar/restaurant! Delicious sandwiches, burgers, brunch dishes, generous portions. Friendly waitstaff & bartenders. Nice patio area with plenty of seating in season. Perfect location for pre- and post-Fenway events.
Be the first to ReplyWould've been a high star review, love the thursday wings
Would've been a high star review, love the thursday wings and marg nights, food isn't anything crazy, but it's a good cheap deal. Staff is usually nice, but picture this, you and the lads/gals just got back to campus on Boston, you've missed the crew, and you wanna go to your usual place. You pull up. Your waiter is a phenomenal guy (shoutout Alec) super nice, the margs were the same as ever, and then you see your wings coming. Instead of the super nice and respectful waiter you had earlier, you see a banshee crawl out of the 9th circle of hell and claw her way over to you, looking like an unmade bed, and like she hasn't smiled since the atom bomb was dropped. This knuckle dragging geriatric, later identified as "Tess," hobbles over holding a tray full of wings, and places them on the table asking who ordered which wings. As she named the name of each wing that she brought over to us, we stared blankly, as none of us ordered any of the wings she just named. This was our fatal mistake. See, staring in silence as Tess tells you the names of wings that you did not order unleashes the beast. Like a wolf during a full moon, her inner rage mode was activated as she snarls at us, "who ordered these wings? It says right here on the ticket that this table ordered these wings!" Giving us disrespectful stares and a condescending tone. We swiftly correct her, informing her of what we ~actually~ ordered, and she stared back at us as if we were a gaggling bunch of hillbilly idiots. She snarkily replied that the order that we just said, which was entirely different from what SHE just said, was in fact, what she just said. The absolute disrespect she treated us with was utterly humiliating and left a poor taste in all of our mouths. Looking to avoid confrontation, however, we accepted her lies as we accepted the plates of wings. Tess gracelessly plopped them in front of us, mumbling about our incompetence. She then continued, heralding the crowd as if she was the sole braincell amongst a crowd of homunculi, asking "who ordered the 3 teriyaki wings?" The problem? No one at the table ordered 3 teriyaki wings. One of us, however, DID order 9 teriyaki wings, and corrected her by saying that he "ordered 9 teriyaki wings." This recent escapee of the retirement home, who obviously left her reading glasses and schizophrenia medication at home, snapped back at him "I said 9! That's what I said!" Ladies, gentlemen, and third party genders, I'm sure I don't have to remind you that she, in fact, did not say 9, but instead said 3. All the same, my friend who ordered the teriyaki wings MUST'VE deserved the lambasting of a lifetime, because that's exactly what he received from this gray-haired troglodyte thusly named "Tess." We survived this absolute ordeal served to us by Tess, and to say the least, the vibe at the table was absolutely tarnished. We were all either embarrassed, fuming, or frankly too upset with the encounter to continue our nice, friendly, conversation. We made the fatal mistake of ordering a second round of margs, as the she-demon Tess returned with a tray of margs, plopping them down on the table, spilling quite a few splashes of the precious few ounces of margarita in the minuscule paper cups, and then instructed us to "grab whichever drink, as we obviously can't figure out what we ordered," completely unprompted, as we didn't even have a chance to say a word to her in this second godless encounter. God obviously must be on vacation for allowing such a woman like Tess to continue interacting with the general populous. Once our regular waiter returned, I asked him about the walking corpse who delivered our wings and second round of drinks, a question i soon regretted as I witnessed the zest for life leave his precious eyes. That alone was enough to tell me how this Tess woman treats her staff. My table of trusted cohorts and I soon agreed that we would not be returning to Thortons anytime soon, as we felt absolutely disgraced to be treated this way as guests who felt as they did nothing wrong. Why would we claim wings that we didn't order? Obviously that must be a crime at Thorton's Fenway grill, as we all feel our souls still being judged and weighed by Tess for the sin of not claiming food we did not order. Surely we deserved this mistreatment, as we are just lowly vermin in a city ran by the iron fist of Tess. The only logical explanation is that Tess recieved some form of "reverse Christmas-Carol" in which she was visited by three ghosts who convinced her to be the absolute worst person imaginable. 2 stars cus I kinda do be liking those blue margs tho.

The food is solid for burgers and fries! I was new in town and we came here with my friend first stop! I liked how they had a variety of burgers and sandwiches !
Be the first to ReplyAfter living in the neighborhood for awhile and hearing
After living in the neighborhood for awhile and hearing good things about this restaurant, I finally checked it out for dinner and was unfortunately very disappointed. Although their lunch/dinner menu is very large and their prices are very average, the quality of the food was very mediocre. I ordered the Easy Rider chicken sandwich, which arrived at the table very differently than what I was envisioning when looking at the menu. Not only was it missing the sprouts that were supposed to be on the sandwich, but it included a ton of other miscellaneous toppings that were never detailed on the menu. The chicken itself was also very dry, bland, and tiny. After our dinner we were still a bit hungry and decided to get some dessert. Their menu had what looked to be an ice cream section, and when we checked with the waitress she confirmed that the items were indeed ice cream. So you can imagine our surprise when our mint oreo "ice cream" ended up being a milkshake! Ultimately, I think this restaurant needs some improvement to their menu descriptions. And maybe their brunch is worth checking out, but I would definitely skip their dinner as it's nothing special at all.

Food was pretty ok here - I've had much better breakfast diner food. It's one of my favorite types of foods so I was a bit disappointed in their quality.Give it a 3 because the day before we had gone to a different diner where the home fries, entree and restaurant aesthetic were all comparably better so nothing really stood out about this guy. Probably would not come back.
Be the first to ReplyThis place is exactly what you'd expect from a neighborhood
This place is exactly what you'd expect from a neighborhood bar. We stopped by for trivia and the place filled up pretty quickly with a mix of college kids and older locals. Service was excellent. Food was nothing special, except the fries, which were hot, crispy, and delicious. Apps were basic fried food. Wide selections of sandwiches and the two we got were good. Brownie a la mode for dessert was excellent. Definitely will be heading back here

Very tasty food! Good for brunch! They also have gluten free choices. I have been there several times and every time I found something I love.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing! I didn't have high expectations to begin
Disappointing! I didn't have high expectations to begin with, but the dining experience was worse. First off, my friends and I dined for a late lunch after a baseball game since it was close by. We got seated immediately, but service was ridiculously slow and inattentive. I understand that there may have been shortage in staff, but the right attitude was not there either. Our food came out nearly half an hour later, and they got our order mixed up. We all ordered burgers, and honestly super mediocre burger, dry patty. The atmosphere is also very old and traditional. Wouldn't come back honestly.
Be the first to ReplyI live in the Fenway and this is my go-to place for
I live in the Fenway and this is my go-to place for breakfast. I tend to take out-of-towners here for breakfast on Saturday or Sunday. They open at ca. 10 AM, and I try to be there at 10 to get an outdoor seat. They are reasonably priced, and the young people they have managing the outside patio are always moving quick to ensure all is ok. I typically order the eggs over easy, and I like the fact the eggs are not broken when I get them. The sausage side is a real, tasty sausage. My friends who like their potato sides always notice how real potatoes are made into crispy but moist sides. I like the fact I can order rye toast as many places offer white and wheat, but I like the rye change up since I can't see myself buying a loaf. Locally owned and operated, I recommend this place unreservedly.
Be the first to ReplyCrunchy potatoes covered in paprika.
Eggs were ok nothing special. Everything was a bit cold. Ordered a frozen screwdriver that came AFTER our food was delivered. Never had a waiter serve a drink on the table oozing over the side. The drink was tasteless. If u r looking for a nice sidewalk brunch in Boston, this is not it.
Be the first to ReplyIt was fine.
We hit this place on our way from BU over to Northeastern. My kids seemed to like their burgers. No complaints. My wife had no complaints about her side salad. She said it was bigger than expected. I, however, had the veggie pocket. It was fine. My complaint is that the avocado was not ripe. I really like avocado, and this was firm. You can't miss that when you're preparing a dish, so they obviously knew it wasn't ripe. That's very frustrating. Though my wife and kids did not complain about the lemonade, it looked weak. You have to pay for refills, but they didn't tell my wife. She wouldn't have ordered another had she known.
Be the first to ReplyThis is the spot to go to before a Sox game.
Avoid the major crowds but still be right in walking distance for a less crowded brunch before the games. Great staff and vibes as well! Stay eatin!
Be the first to ReplyThe service was not great.
The older woman who runs the place is rude and not friendly at all. The food and drinks were average but would not recommend going just based on management and service at this place. Made our visit not enjoyable.
