Went for a family dinner, and we adored everything.
Food was spectacular. Every dish was well presented and flavourful. Portions were great too. I had the fried oysters and the duck breast, which were mouth watering, followed by coffee parfait, which was the perfect finish to everything. Service was excellent as well. Staff were patient, kind, and personable. Ambience was sophisticated and perfect for any date or occasion. I would go back in a heart beat.

Waiters extremely professional and helpful. Menu is very rich as is the taste of each serving. Highly recommend.

The White Onion has that perfect mix of high quality food, while in a relaxed and informal setting. My friend and I visited recently for dinner and were so pleased we did. It is designed with class and refinement in mind and felt just great. We spoke to the excellent waiter about our first dining experience there, and he was more than happy to help us through the options on the menu. To start, we chose the oven baked Brixham scallops with celeriac and truffle purée, lardo, Herefordshire apple jelly and the roasted Norfolk quail with sesame fig relish, crispy tapioca. Each was cooked to perfection and we both loved every mouthful. On to the main course, and the Scottish venison saddle with glazed beetroots and herbs, apple purée, girolles, venison sauce as well as the rump of English veal with carrot and apricot purée, hay baked heritage carrots, tamarind jus both sounded too good to miss. We both love our meat and it was a pleasure to see such options on the menu. The venison in particular was cooked with skill, care and attention. This was matched by the continuing quality attention shown by the waiting staff. There was still room for dessert, and after much deliberation we went for the quince tarte tatin and the pistachio ice cream, as a pair of sweet toothed people! They were the ideal way to finish of a great meal and we have both vowed to come back and try something different next time. It all sounded so good!

From the moment you walk in to the last breath you take on the way out. This reminds us why we dine out to begin with. It's not just about the food, ambiance or service on its own. It's the entire experience that leaves lasting memories of ones visit for the years to come.Upon walking into this lovely establishment, you are greeted with smiles and courteous staff. My waitress offered to take my jacket and waited for me to get situated before handing the menu to me. I love the little details as such. She asked what my name was and introduced her to me. Gave me a brief rundown of the drink menu and special before she gave space for me to review their options. When asked about wine, she was honest and advised that she does not know their wine well yet and got another staff who is familiar to review that with me. This ensures that my experience in this arena is nothing less of stellar. When I began to review the food menu, she broke down the dishes that she enjoyed and explain so. Again, our waitress took measures to ensure a pleasant evening.Long story short, wine was on point, food was delicious, and service was quite charming.Visit and see if my words are valid.
Be the first to ReplyWow! What a fabulous restaurant experience I've had tonight.
A rainy wet evening and just happened to change my arrangements to meet in Wimbledon Village. Thought we'd try this place incase they had space for a walk in and oh my goodness I'm so glad they fit us in. 30 minutes late the place was packed. The service was attentive but not intrusive and they explained all the dishes in detail with some suggestions for additions and wine or not! The whole meal was to die for and each plate looked picture perfect! Terrine was outstanding with homemade walnut bread. The watercress sauce added just the right amount of bite to the herb crusted cod and the Mille feuille, oh god that was incredible. A lovely dining atmosphere and a place to savour got a special occasion as village prices. Christmas lunch menu looks reasonable though so I'll be back!
