The Plaice To Be Pitlochry Reviews from The Last Year
Fantastic
Had 6 fish suppers and took them back home had come up for easter with my family it was the best fish and chips ive had in scotland service was excellent and friendly price average but overall worth a visit will definitely reccomend the fish shop along the road was very expensive and only 1 piece of fish not 2
It was the place to be.
Well cooked food. Tasty fish. Good batter on the sausages. Decent sized portions. Although we placed our order earlier and asked for a set time we still had to wait and quite pricey. But everyone enjoyed and the staff were friendly.
Yuk.
Ordered 4 large fish suppers and a sausage supper( approx £60). Fish tasted off, the batter was soggy. The sausage was mushy and also in soggy batter. The oil tasted unfresh and definitely needed changed. I called to let them know when we got back to the caravan that it was inedible. The owner couldn't have cared less when I explained how bad the food was, just wanted to argue, so the call was quickly on my end. There is a fantastic chippy on the main high street, always packed busy, unfortunately my husband decided to give this one a try to our disappointment.
Lovely Fish & Chips to takeaway in Pitlochry
Takeaway fish & chips made to order can't get any better than that nice friendly owner and staff .thank you , in the town of Pitlochry off main street great wee find
Delicious gluten-free fish & chips!
We love this place! Always get courteous service when ordering & picking up food. Our adult daughter is celiac and finds it hard to get gluten-free fish & chips so when she visits us, we always try to get a take-away from here. Whether you have regular fish & chips (like my husband) or gluten-free - it's delicious either way. I now prefer mine GF too as it's lighter but, really tastes just as good. Try it!
Don’t go
Didn’t know this had changed hands, but thought give it a go, 2 fish suppers, £21.80, could not eat the chips, very hard and had a terrible taste, the fish was less than satisfactory.
Whaaaat!!??
Ridiculously overpriced non authentic chippie serving nothing like you'd find in any Scottish city. Obviously taking advantage of the plethora of tourists in the town.
Tasty food
Excellent crispy fish and very tasty, chips were good too. Portion of mushy peas was small for £1.50. Only real down side was overall price
Change for the worse.
Plaice to Be Pitlochry has changed ownership and is now the place not to be! Sad after all the years of top quality food from Hugh and his team, thanks for the memories but from now it will be MacKay's.
unfresh food - made me sick
Was looking forward to a chippy after 30 mins driving into pitlochry during a camping trip near by - only to be given the worst fish supper of my life. The fish was greasy and was definitely not fresh, I had to return to the shop to add more salt and vinegar to make it edible. The only reason I did not ask for refund was because I had to get back to friends at the campsite as it was pouring of rain. My friends food were all disgusting also and one had a sausage that was warm on one end, and cold on the other!! Worst £11 I have spent in my life. Avoid this place if your not wanting a good meal - SAVE YOUR MONEY
Avoid
Terrible chip shop. Half the chips weren’t cooked properly. The fish wasn’t fresh and sausage was definitely undercooked! Also pricey!! Won’t be back.
Not As Good As It Used To Be
Been here several times over the years. It used to have fantastic fish and chips. I assume new owners have recently taken over as it’s nowhere near the quality it once was. Fish now comes in 2 pieces and the chips are very hard. Young male waiter behind the counter also rude with no manners. Wouldn’t recommend and won’t return.
Great chippy
Great fish and chips crispy batter and chips 2 pieces of fish got lemon as well dontnormally get lemon so a nice change good value excellent service and friendly staff

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
