I found this place spring 2021 and am incredibly sad I didn't find it sooner, as I read today is their last day. To the owner, staff and everyone invested, you will be missed. I brought friends to The Loyal and they are sad to hear they won't be going back. Thank you for the times I was there.

Be the first to ReplyAll the food was excellent.
They saw on our profile that it was our anniversary week so they brought us Prosecco. The burrata and the duck tots were a nice starter. We both ordered the filet mignon AI poivre, which was amazing. For dessert we had the Sundae Set: a platter with 3 scoops of ice cream, all the sundae toppings in little ramekins, and several different candies, like Dum-Dum pops, gummy bears, M&Ms, Reese's Pieces, Boston Baked Beans, and more. We sat outside by the sidewalk and several people walking by asked us what it was- it was that impressive looking! And our server, Tea, was wonderful!

..the octopus, the pork belly appetizer, the miso roast chicken with peanut butter sauce, the fruit cobbler dessert...all awesome. Highly recommend!

My friend and I just had dinner there tonight, and had a wonderful time. First of all the restaurant itself is beautiful, and the outside is not your typical "shack on the street" like so many places in NYC; it was tastefully done with tables set up with red umbrellas over them, reminded me of a Paris Street cafe. Even more importantly, everybody there was completely professional, from the manager Melisa who seated us and poured our wine for us, to our delightful waitress Theresa--so friendly and knowledgeable of the food, really seemed to know and love the menu and her job-- made our night and experiience there a memorable one. And of course, the food - everything we had was excellent. My friend had the miso honey chicken with steamed vegetables and peanut sauce, and I had the orrechieatta (i'm sure I massacred that spelling lol) pasta with a walnut pesto sauce and Pea leaves... perfect, (and I am a bit of a pesto snob- nothing like home made pesto sauce done right, and this truly was). The only slight miss was the duck tot's,; to us they looked and tasted more like big croutons than potato tots, (but still interesting and not bad)! To sum up: I saw another reviewer mention that the staff here seem very happy, and I absolutely second that! And it reflects in their work and the restaurant overall, and pours right out onto the customers like good wine! The place is just run right, and does it right! We will be back.
Be the first to ReplyI was here on Wednesday June 30th for dinner.
The food was simply amazing and the service was second to none. Everyone that worked there look very happy and if reflected in the way they did their work. The space itself is beautiful and very relaxing. I will definitely make this my favorite restaurant to go to in The Village !!!
Be the first to ReplyAmazing! The food and the place were just amazing.
Our server EJ was great, she was very attentive and kind. Also, the food was just a delight. We had so many dishes, and none of them disappointed. Chef Nicole came out to greet us, she was so sweet and kind when we complimented her dishes. Would definitely recommend. Can't wait to go back to NYC and eat at The Loyal.

I visited Valentine's Day weekend for galentines brunch with the ladies. The menu is written well, and leads you to expect a great meal. I had the fish, which was okay. The presentation of the plate threw me off. I had to fish for my Branzino amidst a mound of hash. Nonetheless, they have a decent wine selection. We chose a bottle for the table. The prices are reasonable. Although not my first choice for a second visit, I will try this place when I get a chance. It's right by the water and has outdoor seating, so that may be a vibe. Also, I think maybe it would be better for dinner.

I'm quite disappointed in the service here after my experience last night. To begin with, I made a reservation 5 days ahead of time and arrived exactly at my reservation time, we were seated right away and the waitress immediately started asking if we wanted anything to drink or etc. 30 seconds passes by and she's asking us what we want to drink again and didn't really seem motivated to help us being that it was our first time at the restaurant. We ordered a couple of drinks and same thing when it came time to order our entrees she neither asked if it was our first time or explained if there were any specials etc. she was just rushing us to order. Myself and another person in my party tried to ask questions about the drinks menu and etc being that we hadn't seen any items we were familiar with and wanted to better understand the taste to try new things.Lastly, the chicken sandwich that was listed on the menu "back by popular demand" was poorly cooked and had more lettuce and sauce on the item than chicken. Immediately as I bit into the sandwich everything fell out. After trying to put it back together 2x the chicken already fell apart itself and became soggy from the sauce. My waitress did not care to ask me if everything came out alright after staring at my twice when refilling the water on the table and had an attitude towards the end to the entire table. To note, I was completely understanding of the time limit our table had and I didn't want to cause any issues by reordering anything from the menu so I wasn't going to ask but I just felt like it would've been courteous to do so seeing that all I had at the dinner table was duck tots and wine.

The Loyal is one of my favorite brunch places in West Village. Their food and service remain consistent even through Covid. We sat outdoors by the sidewalk and although the space was tight, they had plastic dividers in between tables. We, of course, ordered the famously delicious monkey bread. It was so good and I got full from it even before our dish arrived. For drinks, I ordered Violet Eyes, with sparkling rosè and curacao, it was so light and refreshing! For my dish, I ordered the Omelette with Mushrooms. It was beautifully presented and it was very tasty. With my drink, main dish and portion of monkey bread, total spend is less than $50. Totally worth it!!
