The Ivy Los Angeles Reviews from The Last Year

It is a visually amazing experience! Pros - fresh roses are so ready to get into one's pics - porcelains in different blue and white patterns are on the wall. - the dinnerware has interesting patterns - the food is delicious - waiters are nice, helpful and attentive - dine to impress - a great place to entertain/impress guests Cons Difficult to find street parking. Most likely, valet parking is the solution. Tables are small

Service was very slow and the hosts could not find our reservation which we showed them the confirmation. The food was very mediocre! I've had Better Fried Chicken at KFC fries were over cooked The calamari was bad & & we didn't see or taste anything special about the fish & chips.
Do not recommend.
Over priced less than average food. The decor is beautiful and the staff was very friendly but I would not go back.

At least there is a hospital across the street for when the nausea of being in such a horrendously overpriced and overhyped restaurant dawns on you like an anvil to the testes. Also, note to the s t a r f u c k e r s: it's very doubtful any celebrities even go here anymore. So, don't bother wasting your money here to gawk stupidly around while you eat your $40 breakfast burrito. The place looks, however, very "cute." Service is friendly. Food should be in a diner in podunk Missouri where the head short-order cook enjoys watching Iron Chef.
Ambiance lovely with florals and French provincial decor.
Food was standard. Drinks were good and strong. Try the lovely rose sangria! A good old Beverly Hills spot to see and be seen.
If you drive to The Ivy and valet park, make sure you tour
If you drive to The Ivy and valet park, make sure you tour the entire car with the valet attendant before AND after you get your car. I made the mistake of not doing that and discovering the next day that I had a major dent in the car, not a ding but a huge gash. Very costly lesson learned. Their security cameras clearly showed no damage to my car at drop off but "surprisingly" they claim there is no clear image at drop off because the attendant did not pull the car all the way up to where the camera is. Perhaps that was not a coincidence? I just received the estimate from the body shop for over $5,800 in repairs! Diner beware, check your car thoroughly before and after valet service but before you drive away. They will absolutely not cooperate and you are on your own.

Atmosphere is great, service was amazing, and food was really good. I definitely recommend it. Now it's more expensive than your basic restaurant, but then again, this isn't basic. You get what you pay for, so if you want to save money, go to Dennys

Superb in every way.
. .all staff members terrific and welcoming. . servers couldn't have been more perfectly attentive and well paced with our delicious lunch. . top notch Caesar Salad. . very good guacamole/chips. . and fish and chips beautifully prepared and plated: calamari, scallops, shrimp and wild sea bass. . .
Antoinette was so sweet and pleasant.
She kept on checking in. Food was delicious. The corn chowder was amazing and I wanted to eat 3 or 4 bowls but I ordered the fried chicken. I love the vibe here. I like the eclectic decor and the fresh roses. They have 3 or 4 seating areas and they all looked or felt so fun and "light".
Did this place ever have a fall from grace.
The service is good, the ambiance is cute and my grandmother loves the decor. The food is mediocre for the price. You will definitely spot a celebrity from the golden age of Hollywood.
Great ambiance and food, I really enjoyed it.
I saw the negative reviews and wondered if this people actually ate there?
Went there for lunch with 2 friends on a Wednesday.
Ambiance and service were nice. We ordered tagliatelle with mushrooms, french fries and a salad. It was a total disappointment. The tagliatelle were super heavy and buttery, the french fries straight from the freezer fried in bad oil and the salad nothing special. The dessert was super sweet, we almost didn't touch it. This place is overrated and disappointing. Won't revisit.

Dined at The Ivy, an alleged legacy restaurant in Los Angeles and somewhat of a "splurge". Service was mediocre at best, menu is old & tired, like a 1970's version of The Cheesecake Factory, and the pricing is extremely on the high side with the food, drinks and service not matching up to the price or reputation I thought they had. Would not dine here again.
Went to the Ivy on a Saturday night for dinner.
It was a rainy night so we asked to sit inside. They sat us near the fireplace, which was a perfect night for it. I've been there many times over the years and the experience is always great. The decor is lovely and charming. The colored roses are just gorgeous. The service is attentive. The drinks are amazing (and expensive) - the gimlet is memorable. The portions are generous (although again, expensive). The food, however, is only so-so. I don't really think you come here for the food (although when I come for lunch, I get the chopped vegetable salad which is incomparable). We split a soft shell crab appetizer. We each got about one bite. For my main, the waiter suggested the mussels from the daily special menu - they were overcooked and the sauce was too thick. My friend got the branzino and shrimp which he liked better. For dessert we split a pecan bar with ice cream. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Alan is amazing! He has the best recommendations! It was my first time there and I can say I'll definitely be back again! Everything was over the top so delicious and amazing and large portions, even the sangria was a big cup! The ambiance is to die for, I love all the greenery and beautiful flowers/trees. The customer service here is extraordinary 10/10!!!! This restaurant is amazing, we came in with a dish in mind and it's no longer on the menu but they accommodated us and still prepared it! I can't wait to come back and try more delicious food! Please see my photos for the food :)

Too expensive! The food was not a wow! But the drinks and desserts were really good. The place is too small and tables are very close to each other which I don't like but the design of place and plates are cute. The restroom was very clean!

I must admit when my friends said we were going here for brunch during our Girls' Weekend, I had my doubts. I thought it may be a place more to be seen rather than to eat. Boy, was I (pleasantly) wrong! This place is SO cute! I love all the vintage decor. Imagine country chic , mixed with shabby chic and a good dash of Ralph Lauren. There were 4 main dining areas that I could see and each had a distinct personality, but all were tied together by lovely fresh mixed roses and charm. This place would be so cute whether you're on a date or with a group. And the food was great too! They started us with complementary warm biscuits/scones with currants. This was served with butter and fruit preserves on the side. Delicious! From there, we shared the Black Truffle pizza. The truffle was shaved table side and the pizza was hot and crisp. Delicious start! I had the California sea bass daily special and chose a white wine, butter, caper sauce with it. On the side, I opted for French fries, but they offered other selections like mashed potatoes as well. This dish was perfectly cooked. I ate every bite. To drink I had the tropical sangria which was refreshing and filled with different fruit such as pomegranate, pear, dragon fruit and a blackberry. It was gorgeous from every angle, From the host to the server to the bus boys, Service was kind and attentive. We absolutely loved our experience here and I personally can't wait to return.
One of my favorite place in LA.
Yes it's pricey and food is okay but ambiance and drinks are amazing. They always have these beautiful flowers and pottery. I come here for birthdays or Valentine's Day. For b day person they give complementary cake with nice candle light (last couple years though they give browny instead of b day cake) it's a nice date spot and I prefer brunch time over dinner time.
