Delightful experience @ The Grill, Harrods
The Grill - Harrods has focused on a small but well-presented menu with bags of quality. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and wouldn't think twice about returning. The pre-starter garlic and cheese bread with a vinaigrette base was an understated surprise; it's on the menu as 'bread for the table' but I kid you not, this is more than that! Our steak was flavoursome and cooked to perfection, just as we wanted. Twice fried chips - fluffy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. My biggest surprise was the salad, which essentially was a bowl of lettuce with a sprinkle of fried onions and the best salad dressing ever. Two generous dessert choices topped the meal followed by coffee/tea. Thank you @ The Grill for a lovely meal.
Be the first to ReplyOne of London’s best steaks
One of London’s best steakhouses. Will certainly go there again. Top quality meats that are done to perfection, with great professional service. Their burgers are not to be missed. Pricey but worth it!

Pricy? Yes. Worth it? YES. I enjoyed two meals at The Grill - roasted chicken and steak. Each was delightful and I loved watching the line of chefs.

The food was amazing and so fresh. A wonderful menu. Not inexpensive but well worth the money. Casual dress.
Be the first to ReplyVery disappointing
Had high expectations. After a long wait in the queue presumed the wait would be worth it. Unfortunately not.Extremely dry chicken served with jus in chipped jug! Not acceptable and not a great first impression.

We had the Turmeric, cardamom & yogurt 24-hour marinated baby chicken could not fault it . I have been eating at Harrods for over 30 years & have never been disappointed with the food or service . I must say I miss the old Rotisserie & the green man pub that was once in situ those were the days . Highly Recommended.

I received a gift voucher for my birthday and was really looking forward to my visit then read some reviews and was a bit worried but I really shouldn’t have. The staff were exceptional and very welcoming, the surroundings were beautiful. Although some reviews warned against prawn cocktail I went for it anyway. The prawns were big meaty and juicy and salad was crisp and fresh. The steak you could have cut with a butter knife all washed down with champagne, dessert was just as good and we left feeling full and contented. I am looking forward to going back

We had a red letter day voucher for a 3 course lunch at the Grill. When we arrived my Husband had to find the email with the code on. So if you go with the voucher make sure you keep the email . The Staff were very friendly and welcoming . The food is average. We were not keen on the desserts so the waiter said our fries would be included in the voucher. The Grill is nicely decorated and we had a corner table. We had a nice time, but We have been the once,we would not pay those prices for average food .
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced, underwhelming, glorified food hall
We went here for one of my birthday meals thanks to a voucher given to me by my brother in Australia (who naturally assumed it being Harrods, it would be pretty exclusive and sophisticated…..sadly not, we quickly realised!) We had issues at booking (by phone) and were told to bring printed copies of the voucher, this of course wasn’t necessary when we arrived but there was a lot of confusion as to what the hostesses should do with said voucher/reservation. They were very nice and polite and eventually we were seated. We sat down and from that moment to leaving, we were shocked at the clientele - I’ve since seen this in other reviews too, so glad it wasn’t just our experience on the day but I’m shocked Harrods haven’t attempted to change this issue. We dressed nicely for lunch but felt very overdressed as most people were in t-shirts, shorts and trainers. We were also utterly shocked at a family who rocked up and two children in the group sat for the whole time with their feet/shoes up on the next chair and another who lay down on a banquette. Shocking! The food - from a set menu - was nice enough but I honestly have had nicer meals elsewhere and at much cheaper/better value establishments. I would’ve been horrified to have paid for what we received and felt bad for my brother and his family paying £100 for this. One saving grace was the glass of wine we each bought in addition which was delicious. The service was good but slow and we did have to ask three different servers about three times for water. Another terrible mistake/oversight by management/owners is that the closest toilets are ages away (1 floor and about a 10/15 min walk away!) and are hidden there when you arrive and try to find them. Sadly, this is very much an overpriced, underwhelming, glorified food hall. You can experience much better meals and hospitality at so many other establishments so save your money for one of those.
Be the first to ReplyWorst steak ever
I had the prawn cocktail to start which was bland and lacked sharpness. I then had a sirloin steak cooked rare and it was the toughest steak I’d ever eaten. I can’t imagine what it’s like when it’s cooked more - must be like eating rubber. The knife couldn’t cut the steak properly and I had to saw through it with the useless blunt steak knife I had. Word of advice - avoid this place at all costs. It’s not cheap and not worth your money.
Be the first to ReplySalty salty too much kills the food.
We went there and had chicken and some sides. Problem is that everything is so salty that salt favor kills the other flavors it is a pity that I couldn’t enjoy the food. I suggest they cut the salt percentage in half to improve the taste. I think the chef is very inexperienced and fails to control the amount of the ingredients. Otherwise everything was fine.
Be the first to ReplyGood taste, slow food service. (Just to clarify- table service was ok.)
Orders the day’s special which were the lamb chops. Taste was on point but the order as recommended (to be rare) came across a little well-done and dry to what I’m used to. Orders took a long time to arrive, with other diners who ordered later than us got their food and have left the table before our food arrived. Pity you’re not able to order cross-restaurants. So let’s say if in your party of five and someone wants sushi or fish and chips, then that’s not going to happen.

When you charge £65 for a fillet (British meat) and £50 for a burger it's simply unacceptable to deliver average food. My family and I stopped by The Grill today for an early dinner. We got the half roast chicken, a fillet and a burger, along with the several sides. My young girls said the mash potatoes and Mac n cheese were yummy, but unfortunately nothing else was great. The burger was subpar at best, the menu claimed it was a wagyu patty but that's extremely doubtful, unless there is a grade below C1 then that'd explain it. The sauce really lacked flavor, the cheese used was too strong thus overpowering the entire burger. Every bite tasted different as the condiments were unevenly placed on the bun. I admit it's Harrods so one shouldn't go there when looking for reasonable prices, but still at such a premium I expected much much better. The only thing they have going for them is Josper ovens, but without a chef that knows how to grill even Josper couldn't save this meal! Won't be returning for sure.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful - just wonderful!
We popped into Harrods for a quick lunch after my son's graduation before catching our train and we were just delighted with everything! Honestly - best olives ever, fabulous steak perfectly done so the food was fantastic and the service excellent, they could not have been more attentive or pleasant. The lady at front of house picked up on the fact that we had just come from the graduation and they brought champagne and a congratulation card to our table - a lovely gesture which was very much appreciated. A big thank you to the Dining Team at Harrods for making us feel very special.
Be the first to ReplyGood but not great
Good food in General but I remember it being better - much better. The feeling is that it is a run of the mill steak restaurant without standing out in any way whatsoever. Would only visit again if nothing else is available.
Be the first to ReplyUsed to be so much better when it was called Rotisserie
DO NOT ORDER THE PRAWN COCKTAIL! It is inedible, no flavour, genuinely disgusting. Steaks are usually good, I like the US Ribeye and Fillet, sides are often over salted. I come here a lot when shopping as the service is always good (food is average considering the price point!) Giorgia is very professional- very good waitress!

Worst experience
Ordered the prawn cocktail which was terrible and ordered a steak and baby chicken but didn't get it they kept me waiting while three different tables were served which they arrive after me in a long period very disrespectful when I asks the waiter they keep telling me 2 minutes, won't come back for sure.
Be the first to ReplyHarrods Grill - worth the money and queuing for
The Harrods Rotisserie Grill was a fantastic experience, seeing the chefs cook and prepare your meal right in front of you was fun and the fillet steak I had was simply superb (expensive of course but it is Harrods after all). The truffle chips were honestly the tastiest truffle chips I’ve ever had, and loads of truffle on them so it wasn’t a skimpy garnish as I’ve had in some other restaurants. My friend had the half roast chicken which also looked delicious. First time trying the grill and I can’t wait to go back!

The salmon was atrocious and the dessert was less appetising than the aftermath of Thursday night’s curry. 1 star wouldn’t recommend

worst Caesar salad I have ever eaten. the very thought of her makes me throw up. cold poor quality chicken plus loads of mayonnaise. I do not recommend. worst money spent. never again.

Complete case of The Emporer's New Clothes. More like a canteen than a restaurent, if i had been spending money, rather than using a voucher, i would have decined to eat the overpriced, mediocre fayre and left. Toilet is a good 10 mins and one floor away, this is pure greed and i can only assume retail space is more valuable to the store than the comfort of their diners. My steak while tasty enough was impossible to cut with the inadequate blunt cutlery, the peppercorn sayce was virtually tasteless and our desserts were served on tiny tea plates so the chocolate log was hanging off the edge. Such a disappointing lunch on my birthday!
Be the first to ReplyNice food shame about the facilities
We had received a voucher for a 3 course lunch plus champagne. We had the set menu meal with another couple but having booked the 6pm slot there was very little left from the set menu choices. However our waiter did go off to the grill to check what alternatives we could have. The food we eventually settled on was very good and our waiter was excellent, cheerful and helpful despite having to keep returning to our table to advise some original choices were no longer available. If we’re were that way inclined we could have complained but all in all the staff did everything in their power to make reasonable amends. The only real criticism we have is that the ladies and gents were a considerable distance from the food hall and difficult to find. It is not unreasonable to expect toilets in close proximity to an eating establishment. It put a damper ‘no pun intended’ on an otherwise nice meal. There was a comment among the reviews here which suggest a decline in the clientele in recent years, we share that view but that’s society in general these days. If only people would learn how to hold cutlery and eat properly (I.e. mouth closed etc).
Be the first to Reply£105 for a one course lunch with wine??
Oh dear ! A tourist rip off I am afraid. £105 for a 1 course lunch with wine is just silly money ! The steak was lovely, but not thick enough. The fries with truffle and parmisan where full of flavour but under cooked and looked like Mcdonalds! - £9 extra. A tourist RipOff !

An absolutely gorgeous late lunch to celebrate my husbands birthday. The staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble and they made a fuss of the birthday boy, even though they were super busy in the restaurant. The food was delicious and the champagne Devine. The front of house lady left a hand written birthday note for my husband at the table, very nice touch. We will definitely be back when we are next in London. Thank you for making my husbands pre birthday celebration special.
