Wow, wow, wow!
Where to begin. This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in. The experience they deliver is second to none. - Location: Can't beat it. The scenic views this property provides is amazing! - Staff: OMG...the entire staff truly understands the meaning of delivering a high-class experience and comes through as being genuine and authentic. Kudos to the training each team member receives. - Restaurant: With a Michelin rated restaurant onsite along with other restaurants, you know it'll be good. Although we didn't dine in the Michelin rated one, we heavily used their restaurant Saltz and was highly impressed by the food and service. Again, such a great experience they delivered. - Room: Our room was very spacious and very charming. The way they balanced European charm with modern amenities is well done. My only suggestion for an area of improvement are 1) having more counter space in the bathroom and 2) an upgrade to the mattress itself (it was a little too hard). Overall, I can't say enough good things about this property, staff and service. I would definitely recommend it and would be on the top of my list if we stay in Zurich.

Best Hotel I’ve ever stayed in my life. Zürich is not the same without staying at the Dolder, it brings the experience to a whole other level. The staff is excellent especially Rui Ferreira, the rooms are very modern and comfortable, the food is out of this world and the grounds breathtaking. My second time there and won’t be the last .

The best hotel of your life. Everything is thought of so that you spend a moment of relaxation and tranquility there. Ideal for recharging your batteries and enjoying the activities on offer. Of course, you have to plan the budget to look good but it's worth it!
Be the first to ReplyA fairytale dream hotel
The castle-like Dolder is surrounded by greenery high above Zurich. It is perfect for walks and sport, but is also a city hotel, as there is a well-functioning shuttle to the center! The food is great, the breakfast is uniquely good and varied! The spa and fitness area offer everything you need, and the fantastic service and meticulous cleanliness there is also worth noting! But what would this wonderful hotel be without the fantastic staff!!!!! From the friendly chauffeur to the polite concierges, the professional, friendly team at reception and the courteous service - everyone, really everyone, makes this hotel a dream hotel that leaves nothing to be desired! Thank you for the wonderful time, we will be back soon!
Be the first to ReplyGourmet lovers will find their paradise here
A wonderful hotel with a fantastic view. Noble classic meets sustainable modernity, complemented by a variety of art. Gourmet lovers will get their money's worth with innovative and tasty delicacies, be it in "the Restaurant" or "La Rôtisserie" (Lebanese) or the elegant Sunday brunch - with lovingly created little treats served that leave nothing to be desired.
Be the first to ReplyAlways happy to come back! Absolutely recommended.
You could get used to it! A very nice and excellently run hotel with equally excellent staff. One of the best hotels we have stayed in so far. It's only a 40-minute walk to the beautiful city center. We always enjoyed the free shuttle service from the hotel back (uphill!). We stayed in the hotel with our dog, which was never a problem. On the contrary. Our room was in the spa wing with direct access to the forest. Just perfect. A beautiful hotel with a stunning breakfast and an art exhibition worth seeing.

I have been to this house many times, but this time it was very special. Something has obviously happened in management and in terms of employee training. Most attentive service in all areas! It used to be neat and OK, but now the expectations of such a house are completely fulfilled. Whether concierge, room service or pool area: a friendly greeting everywhere and a question about any special requests or suggestions for an even more pleasant stay. Excellent meal in the Lebanese pop-up restaurant, excellent service and perfect team there too.

Super helpful staff, the meals were delicious, great facilities, top notch! There is also a great view, beautiful area. Very quiet location, the rooms are well insulated and you can hardly hear anything. They don't promise you too much.
Be the first to ReplyGood times, bad times. Overall verdict after test unfortunately unsatisfactory.
First of all, very friendly staff. Very attentive. We were always offered help. When we checked in, however, we felt it was a disorganized mess. Small tables, everything was cramped. You have to "stand around" until you are asked. It has the character of a youth hostel. Subterranean. Unfortunately, customers were not asked to give a drink while they waited. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is also very subterranean. Starting with the very small spa area, the hotel room furnishings with "IKEA" standards (terrible, you don't feel welcomed as a guest, the bathroom is good except for the door to the toilet which you can hardly open because of the bathtub - everything is very cramped) and the parking lot which, according to the hotel, is public and cost 40 CHF for an overnight stay. The room was also thoroughly checked. Dust on the headboard and the bottle opener was missing - it was then brought - but first we as customers were asked to search through everything ourselves, drawers etc. - ahhhh, that's not possible. Only after a long phone call did the gentleman finally come. Dear Dolder: that's not acceptable. In the evening we ordered everything from the room service menu. Several dishes and drinks - we wanted to really test it out. The food was good to very good. You can't complain. But: We left the large table with lots of food (around 10 dishes) standing. They simply removed it from the hotel room WITHOUT asking. Absolute no-go. You have to ask the customer to pack something up. The food was simply removed in the morning(!). Verdict: absolutely inadequate. Now please read carefully, dear Dolder: With an overnight stay price of around 1,200 CHF, letting the customer leave with a parking space on departure results in the overall verdict: customer orientation completely missed, repeat factor equal to zero. A hotel that welcomes a customer and claims 5 stars has to serve the customer with the appropriate respect as a customer. It is not service if you have to pay 40 CHF for a parking space at such prices. If the hotel doesn't understand that, the future of the hotel is rather poor for us. The customer is king, which means providing impeccable service FOR the customer. The beautiful view of Zurich doesn't help either. Overall rating for this hotel: adequate to poor.

The staff is particularly attentive and pleasant. The spa is of high quality. We were able to go to the outdoor jacuzzi even though it was already dark, which made the atmosphere magical. We really enjoyed the food at the Saltz restaurant, the breakfast was exceptional. As for the view from the room, it is superb. We can only highly recommend this establishment.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic hotel overlooking lake Zurich
I was only at the hotel for one night as it was a business trip. The service was excellent and Restaurant Saltz where we had dinner has a great menu with great food. We were immersed by the hotel breakfast in the restaurant. There is a very wide selection of options, both hot and cold and again really good quality. Staff were attentive and overall my stay was a great experience and I would happily stay there again.
Be the first to ReplyGreat hotel and overall great experience, but a few disappointments.
It is a beautiful hotel with a beautiful view. The SPA is great and the service generally great. Some disappointments. The bed was not a bed that you would expect from a hotel like Dolder. The duvet is a blanket and not a fluffy down duvet you would expect. We stayed on a Sunday and the two best restaurants were not open. The main restaurant Saltz is nice but the decor and ambience doesn't match the hotel. We had both dinner and breakfast here. Good food, the breakfast was really great, but somehow boring to have both meals at the same place. We were also not informed the other restaurants were not open on a Sunday. Overall, these are not major issues, but not what you expect from a hotel like Dolder. The overall experience was great.

Just amazing!!! I strongly recommended!!! Absolutely the best in CH ! Since I been there first time I noticed the difference! As a film director/writer/Producer I decided that I may go there for some time to write a script for my next movie. Thanks again for the experience, Bobby Paunescu

The Grand Hotel Dolder enjoys an excellent location and panoramic view of Zurich. It has a large area, including tennis, golf, ice skating and walks in the forest. Beautiful rooms with a "smart home" control system, a high level of hotel service and maintenance. Delicious and diverse breakfasts in the restaurant. I want to say thank you for booking and for the great opportunity to visit the Dolder Grand Hotel and feel the atmosphere and enjoy all the services of Amos Huber (Senior Sales Manager) and I also want to thank Jessica Lanz (Sales Consultant) for the hotel tour and detailed description.
Be the first to ReplySwiss perfection!!
Unbelievable! On the occasion of my birthday I received as a gift a visit and dinner at Dolder. This hotel is really in a class of its own, is stunning -gorgeous superb decor and design, the staff was incredibly congratulatory. It is a truly "Grand" hotel as it is called. Here you find a perfect combination of old and new, it is opulent, luxurious and elegant without comparison. I really liked the artworks that are spread throughout the hotel. Dolder lives up to its name as a 5 star luxury property. We were treated like royalty throughout - top marks to the house keeping staff, the concierge, reception staff, dining and waiting staff, the spa and treatment staff ,especially: At the reception: Tim and Sina At Saltz restaurant: Yifei Bell desk : Mate and Rui and last but not least at the lobby bar: Mattieu, Devin and Enea. Because I prefer light and slightly sweeter drinks, Mattieu prepared a cocktail to my taste, a cocktail that if he doesn't have it on the menu list I would recommend him to add it. The view from the room is amazing, especially at night. I highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for luxury comfort and excellent service that works like a Swiss watch. Thank you Dolder, thank you to all the staff and especially Larisa Alexandra for the special attention. Visiting Dolder was a unique and unforgettable experience . Thank you all ! I will definitely come back!
Be the first to ReplyBest birthday ever ❤️
Dear all, Thank you from all my heart 💜 for this unforgettable experience. I received an upgrade in a Junior Suite and a special card from the General manager for my birthday and it was the best present. The hotel, the staff, the food and especially the Spa, everything was just fantastic and made us feeling not only special, but also unique. Definitely five star 🌟 plus experience We are super happy and grateful for everything and definitely we will come back. Kind regards, Beloslava Mazneva
Be the first to ReplyA Grand hotel, questionable style
This hotel was renovated a few years ago, with the change of owner. It's now an interesting combination of style. I like the design and some of the functionality, but lot of thing are not thought through, or material is of low quality (eg lamps) making it a bit cheap for high luxury hotel. Also, food was average. It's now big and you may have to walk quite a bit between places. It feels a bit like an art gallery (or a storge for art) - some is nice, some is not very interesting in my view.
Be the first to Replysuper relaxing and delicious way to spend a morning!
We visited the Doder Grand for coffee and cake to cheer our friend up who had to have an operation after a skiing accident. It was very easy to get to, even though our friend has a large brace on her leg. The funicular is just across the road from the tram stop and once at the top, it's a short walk to the main part o the hotel. The staff who served us were both very friendly and cheerful. We sat by the window with the sun streaming in. The whole atmosphere was one of relaxation, calm, and class. The cakes we had were divine! the photos don't do them justice. The cherry bomb was wonderfully tart, the mousse melted in the mouth, it was a treat to eat. The pistachio bar was delicious - presentation stunning and the lime tart superb and beautifully presented with the ruffled meringue topping! We had both coffees, then hot chocolate... the china was so attractive... so simple, yet so classy. We never felt we had to rush to leave nor made to feel that we were being 'cheap' just having beverages and cakes. We loved the decor and works of art. It was a wonderful way to spend a morning! we will be returning for a meal next time we visit our friend!
Be the first to ReplyGreat place that is losing its spark
I have stayed at the Dolder Grand many times, but recently was my first time since covid. I have long regarded this hotel as one the best in Switzerland, but I was sad to see that it is losing its level of quality and service. I write this review in hopes that the management becomes aware of the downgrading changes I observed in the hotel. Firstly, we had many troubles with the F&B department. We stayed 4 nights at the hotel, and every single night we had a problem trying to have dinner on the property. The fine dining restaurant was closed and the only option was Saltz. They simply did not want to make space for us (hotel guests) in the Saltz restaurant for dinner. After speaking to the front desk and being told that F&B would contact us by phone to solve the problem (which never happened), we were left with no place to have dinner. One of the front desk employees even had the audacity to tell us to eat in our room with in-room dining. In no luxury establishment do you tell your long-standing guests to eat in their room because they cannot be accommodated in the hotel's (breakfast) restaurant. If I wanted to eat in my bed, I would stay at home... After contacting the front-desk multiple times, as the concierge did not answer, we become very frustrated with the lack of communication on the hotel's part and no option for us to have dinner. Once the restaurant got back to us, they agreed to make space for us on the last night. When we got to the restaurant, we were appalled to see that most tables were empty. The spa remains one of the most special parts of the hotel. The room was still at a great standard, although needed some repairs such as broken light bulbs and damaged furniture. However, the linens have surely downgraded. The bathrobes we received were in very poor condition (with holes) and of a much lesser quality than previously before. This was also the case for the bed sheets. But the most unappealing amenity was the "sustainable" slippers, which quite literally felt like cardboard disposable paper slipper. Not what you expect at a place like the Dolder Grand. While sustainability is important, it should not compromise standard of quality. Luxury is about choice, sustainable options should be offered to those who want it, but not forced on everyone. On the other hand, the staff at the bar, especially Jean-Claude were extremely welcoming, warm, and professional. Similarly, the doormen were always very kind. They were missing proper uniforms, however, which did not give a good image. Overall, I wish the management takes into account these issues and addresses them for others' stay at this hotel. Its a magical property with so much history and charm, it would be a shame if it continues losing it.

I have high expectations and the Dolder exceeded them. Simply spectacular in just about every way. Every part of the experience was excellent. When you paying this much you expect excellence. You'll find it at the Dolder.
Be the first to ReplyDolder : An outstanding stay guaranteed!
The Dolder will exceed your expectations and it surpassed ours! Fabulous room, facility and best of all, one of the best breakfast we have had in a while. Loved the various art work that are dotted around the hotel and we truly enjoyed our stay. Kudos the the management team!

After a hectic road trip, I extended my stay for 2 days to stay at The Dolder Grand and it was the best place to relax, rejuvenate in the spa and enjoy the fresh air during my forest walk on the hotel grounds. The breakfast was a delight and I had enough choice on a non meat diet. I had specific requirements for retail therapy and the concierge team happened to be experts on where to go and were most helpful.

Well had the worst experience in our stay of three days .on the last day in the breakfast room Saltz someone stole money from my office bag when I had gone to take my buffet breakfast .I complained to the hotel wrote an email to them but they were not responsive and were very casual about it no action was taken they just told us to do a police complain .being a foreigner and was on way to Germany I could not file a complaint . What is shocking is the money being stolen from a luxury category hotel in zurich
Be the first to ReplyOne of the best hotels in the world
This hotel is much more interesting in reality than on the pictures. It was simply remarkable experience we had and there is really nothing we can complain about. We definitely highly recommend this hotel to other people. We have visited many hotels in the world and I would say that this one is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. For example it is much more better than Grand Resort Bad Ragaz which feels little bit outdated, but culinary experiences are very similar and world class in both of these hotels. I even like Dolder Grand little bit more than Kempinski hotel in High Tatras, Slovakia which I find very very similar to this one. Maybe the reason why I like this one more is your amazing huge and ultra luxurious SPA facilities. Keep it up, we will never forget our experience!
