Delicious!!
My husband and I had a wonderful afternoon tea, with excellent service - every moment and mouthful was a delight. My husband had the savoury version and I had the veggie version and both enjoyed it very much. Was nice to try new teas and the delightful FortMason was a winner so we bought a packet on the way out to enjoy at home. Thank you to all for a wonderful couple of hours and top marks to pianist and staff for making it magical.
Be the first to ReplyFun to do but not worth the money
Overall a fun experience but would be good to note the price beforehand. Prices started at 80 pounds per person for some light bites and a pot of tea. I would not say the service here was anything spectacular. Our waitress disappeared for a while but other staff were friendly in answering our questions. Not a great value for the money but was a beautiful atmosphere

We wore neat casual clothes and felt comfortable. The staff was very attentive. They accommodated a substitution of one item due to an allergy. The tea assortment is substantial, and they are happy to discuss the choices and make recommendations. Each person can order up to three different types of tea as the meal progresses. It was very relaxed and someone was playing the piano in the background.

Had a delightfully, delicious afternoon tea here at F&M. Staff were charming and courteous, a credit to F&M. Always worth a visit. Till the next time.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing
What a shame. Living off the brand and service of the past. Service was inconsistent. One pot of tea each which was not replenished. Bland sandwiches on dry bread. Cold scones which were dry and tiny. Clotted cream served in a plastic tub. Disappointing selection of cakes thrown onto a cake stand with no thought to presentation. Without a doubt the worst afternoon tea we’ve had for £225.00. To finish with a compliment, the pianist was pleasant to listen to.
Be the first to ReplyExceptionally Disappointed - except the tea sandwiches were good.
When we planned our 10th Anniversary in Europe my husband excitedly booked this place months in advance knowing I love a decadent high tea in a beautiful setting. This very expensive place disappointed on every front except the tea sandwiches - they were good. They placed us at the table beside the entrance to the kitchen where the loud and constant sound of silverware being thrown in the bin was “complimented” by the constant earthquake of the servers running past us with trays for all other diners. This table was also directly beside a large and loud group of ladies (having fun - but not where you seat a couple celebrating a romantic occasion). The disgraceful ripped and food stained menu we received to order from was more diner than high tea. While there was a grand piano we could not hear it at all from the distance and the noise pollution we were surrounded by. Our server was very junior and constantly had to be flagged down as he did not seem to understand the concept of quality check or that glasses needed to be refilled including that I may have wished for another overpriced glass of sparkling wine to remain calm amongst the terrifying din around us so as to not disappoint my husband who planned this “romantic” $500? $700? CAD experience that was much like McDonalds but with better sandwiches. Our tea was served on a 3 tier tray with no adornments not even a doily to keep the condiments or desserts in place and the disheveled off centre pile they arrived to our table at was very unappealing. Most disappointing though was going to the restroom and seeing other quieter sections with many empty tables and nice quiet couples where they could have seated us. Instead they sat the couple celebrating their 10th anniversary who booked months in advance at their worst possible table. There was no care here. Not for our comfort, not for our occasion. We saw walk ins get better tables than us while we waited for our special table because we arrived a bit early!!!! I have never had such a disappointing tea experience in my life - and this was for 4x the price I have ever paid. My husband believed that if the Queen approved of this place it was good. It was not. Avoid this place.
Be the first to ReplyI might choose another Tea
Table was very pretty, service was really good but scones were rock hard and ice cold. I was so disappointed. ☹️ I might try another option if I had to do it again.

The best tea in London! Not having a sweet tooth I was so excited to discover the savoury tea at Fortnums. I’ve been to most London hotels for tea and I’ve been here three times in the last 6 months because the whole experience is exceptional and value for money. Not inexpensive at £75 per person but you leave full, happy and spoiled! Their tea menus are classic, savoury or sweet. They cater to every guest requirement regardless of food allergies and taste. Perfect service, a massive tea menu which they are trained to assist you with and a piano player in the background of the beautiful setting. Excellent wine and champagne choices and if they incredible stand they bring you is not enough, you simply order individual selections additionally of those bites you want again.
Be the first to ReplyFood aplenty!
This was a typical traditional afternoon tea. There are three or four options to choose from and we went with traditional. A nice selection of finger sandwiches in very soft bread which could have been replenished but there was so much else available. A beautifully crafted selection of patisserie items. Not all to my personal taste but nothing wrong with them and certainly some were a work of art. Two types of scones with cream and two types of jam. A big selection of teas. We were also offered a complimentary cake from a selection of three and I chose the battenburg which sadly was very dry. My gran made a better one in her day. Service was perfectly ok. It would have been more enjoyable had the room not been so very hot and our neighbouring guest so very loud. Prices are expensive as you are paying as much for the name and location as the food. £70-80 per person with wine/fizz on top of that. A good experience but wouldn’t return.
Be the first to ReplyNot for Dairy Free
We have visited Fortnum & Mason many times for afternoon tea however we were left very disappointed with the dairy free option. For some reason the sandwiches are now the same as the vegan menu so no meat, egg or fish option. The scones were very dry and only plain no raisins not sure why as these would be suitable for dairy free vegan & gluten free. Not sure we will be returning.
Be the first to ReplySpectacular Tea … grumpy service
What a shame I have given this review a three. The setting and tea at Fortnum & Maison was very excellent. And we loved the extended menu to offer a savoury tea option. We had a lovely time only a little spoilt by our main server. A young lady who was clearly ‘bored to death’ and showed it. No smiles, no conversation. To be fair we were asked at the end of service by the maitre d if we were happy with our visit. But if you don’t want to serve tables don’t do it and don’t spoil other people’s special occasions !!!

Had an afternoon tea with my Wife. It was a pleasant experience. Found the savoury and sweet array of delights on a par with anything The Ritz , Savoy, Claridges etc can offer. We were served by a patient, and endearing waitress called Shanel Phillips who made the experience all the more pleasurable. Mr and Mrs Marin.

Had the most amazing afternoon tea today. The service was impeccable from beginning to end. What a lovely experience. Staff could not do enough for us. Just perfect.
Be the first to ReplyFizzy and delicious
This was in part a time-shifted birthday celebration, and more than lived up to expectations. The welcome was very friendly, and the food options were explained with perfect clarity, with a full understanding of my husband's dietary allergies. The food was delicious, elegantly presented, and generous to a fault, and the champagne was a perfect accompaniment. Service was very attentive. I'm just looking for an excuse to visit again.
Be the first to ReplyExtremely poor service
We were really looking forward to the Afternoon Tea at such a well known establishment. Food was good although the cream cheese, mint and cucumber sandwich was a bit of an odd mixture. Service, however, was sadly lacking. The staff bringing out the food were working hard but that is not the case for the waiters who seemed more interested in greeting each other and having a chat than checking if we had everything we needed or would like some more. When we came to pay (with gift voucher), it could only be done by a ‘Manager’ who was clearly more interested in his conversation with another ‘Manager’ from the other part of the tea room and we had to wait 10 minutes before it was actioned! Good service and attention to detail was lacking. If it’s not being given by the ‘Managers’ then Fortnum, you’re going to fail.

Wow just wow - from start to finish this was an amazing, amazing experience. Food and service were of an exceptional quality and standard and I would highly recommend
Be the first to ReplyBirthday Disappointment
Tea was Luke warm not hot, service was slow. Asked for extra sandwiches as the first lot were dried out which was promptly forgotten by the waitress then remembered when it was way too late. Price advertised was not the price charged six of us met for my birthday and they charged £58+ service charge which was not mentioned in their advertising. My friend cut her lip on a chipped glass and the birthday cake a chocolate cup filled with fondest was revolting. Uneaten food could only be taken home if it was cake or scone as it was considered a health risk to take sandwiches! Paid £70 but have had far better in my local town seriously not worth the money.

Visited in February to celebrate our Silver Wedding Anniversary. This was our second visit as we had previously been lucky enough to get their 'buy one get one free' offer during the months of lockdown.
Service was excellent. Staff are attentive and very keen to make sure you are completely satisfied with every aspect of your visit.
Yes, it is super expensive, but for a special occasion it is worth it for the luxury surroundings, excellent service and great food.
The food is great and you can order as many repeat dishes as you want. They also let you take food away in lovely little boxes if you cannot finish everything you have ordered. Sandwiches are fresh and tasty. The scones are perfect and the clotted cream is amazing. Cakes are superb and they even offer you a separate slice of more cake at the end of your tea.
I would highly recommend for a special occasion.
Concerning
I popped in excited excepting it to be a first class place, which it really isn't!
I went up tap the 4th floor to be ignored by the rude women sitting down, who went to tell me about the 10 years of greatness when I asked of all is ok. Shocking!
Don't waste your time with this outfit go, to the Ritz or somewhere with a basic understanding of standard's.
Vested 21/02/22 , we now feel worried about the booking, I hope the don't embarrass us as the staff all seem snobby and lost in dream!
Just outstanding
Took my husband for a suprise for his birthday as hes always wanted to go as F&M is his favourite shop. He nearly cried when I took him in. The waitress was so lovely and professional. The whole experience was amazing. Everything was so fresh and the pot of tea was outstanding. They couldn't do enough for us. She even bought out a gorgeous chocolate cupcake with a slab of chocolate saying happy birthday. I think the price is well worth this experience, and i will certainly go again. Thankyou to all the staff.

We had afternoon tea here in March 2022, the room is very elegant with a piano playing in the background. The staff are friendly and professional and the afternoon tea was excellent.
The staff were very attentive and bring as many sandwiches and cakes as you want, they even boxed some up to take home.
Overall a great experience
Superb afternoon tea experience
We had a wonderful time at Diamond Jubilee. The selection of food and tea options were excellent, with the opportunity to select from four different food options and as a couple, select a different one for each of you offering an opportunity to try a wider selection of treats. Should you wish to have extra portions you may, however it's unlikely you will want to as the teas are generous. We had lovely, unobtrusive and warm service and the atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant. The staff also presented my girlfriend with a lovely birthday treat. A thoroughly enjoyable visit, one of our favourite afternoon tea experiences.
Be the first to ReplyToo pricey for what’s worth
Our first high tea reservation was cancelled so the concierge from that place booked us to this place. We were so excited because they are populary known for their teas.
The setting is great, the colors of the tables and chairs are refreshing as well as tea sets. The place has more tables than usual high tea places, it was crowded during our reservation.
We ordered the Afternoon Tea and Savory Tea sets. The sandwiches were okay, I didn’t like the salmon one. It didn’t taste fresh. The scones were better. The pastries were quite good. We did like the teas.
The food is unlimited and you could change your teas as you like.
Each of us paid £80 (including service charge). I really think it wasn’t worth it. The quality of food is subpar compared to my first high tea experience.
Great experience
It was my first time experiencing a high tea ritual and I really liked it.
The ambience of the place is lovely and there is live piano music. Everything is served on the characteristic F&M china and the place is sparkling clean.
The scones, the jam and the clotted cream were to die for, the cakes were delicious and the sandwiches really tasty. I loved the one with the cucumber and mint butter. The refill was for free and you get the remaining cakes at home (but not the sandwiches).
There were many tea options and the (free) refill could be a different one!!!!
The service was first class as well. Everyone was smiley and welcoming, special thanks to our waitress Sevasti. She was fast, polite, smiley and explained everything with patience. Very well done Sevasti, you really contributed to us having a wonderful experience.
The price was £70 but we got what we paid for!
Not worth the price sadly
Staff were abrupt… some didn’t even say hello. We advised our waiter than one of the table was diabetic and was it possible for them to order just tea and sandwiches. We were almost laughed at, and told NO, it’s a set price. We have had afternoon tea at The Dorchester and The Savoy and both venues allowed us to order sandwiches and tea without any issue at all. The whole experience was disappointing sadly.
