One of the worst teppanyaki (service and food) that I ever had
We have made a booking and arrived at the Tatsu teppanyaki restaurant for dinner but the female manager or captain, is extremely bias, customers who arrived right after us can take a seat at the main teppanyaki dining ared but she escorted us to the private room where the food and service are terrible. I have ordered the lobster and wagyu plus lobster and seafood dinner course but the food turned out to be below average par for the price we have paid for. it's just an higher class express teppanyaki. The chef in the private room did not interact much with us, with no showmanship and showing a lack of enthusiasm. The service staff are even worst, chatting among themselves and their face are always back faced us, without making any single eye contact with customers. Customers have to walk over to them to ask them to serve the dessert and to walk over again to ask them for bill. This is one of the worst restaurant that I have been to but paid more than $350 sgd. And would never return to this restaurant ever again.
Be the first to ReplyVery good Teppenyaki

Be the first to ReplyCosy friendly service. Good food
Celebrated my birthday with family. Enjoyed the food, service and company. A bit pricey but will come back for special occasions.
Be the first to ReplyGreat place, Great food
Sat at the Teppanyaki counter with plenty of space, often they try to squeeze too many people in. It’s a great way to eat watching an expert cook your food. Food and drinks were excellent
Be the first to ReplyExtremely average food and terribly rude and inattentive service
I went to dinner last night with my partner and her daughter looking forward to a Teppanyaki meal. It was the daughters first time for Teppanyaki and she was very excited to go. Upon arrival we were escorted to a private room next door the main restaurant entrance and a salad quickly arrived - which was a nice start. I ordered a starter of sushi roll to share and 3 Teppanyaki meals (salmon, prawns, beef, chicken, veg, rice). The chef arrived at the hotplate and despite everything else the chef was skilled and friendly throughout the evening. We also ordered a bottle of sake. When the sushi arrived no one brought any soy sauce which we had to ask for after waiting 5 mins. The food itself was very below par for what we paid. The salmon was cooked in a tray of sweet broth and not directly on the grill and was so sweet I could hardly eat it. The rest of the food was extremely bland. We asked if we could get some sesame sauce to which the male waiter replied they dont have any. When I pointed out it was actually on the salad served earlier we disappeared not to return. I then asked another female waiter and she returned with one small dish. When I pointed out there was three of us she went away and returned with 2 other dishes of sesame sauce. We were informed that dessert, which was not specified on the menu, was mango pudding. My partner does not like mango and so we asked if we could substitute with ice cream for her. The waitress said it was not possible. When I insisted she said she would try and get a "very small scoop" .."not a normal scoop" (???). She eventually returned with some ice cream. Throughout the meal I constantly had to refill our sake despite lifting the bottle high enough in front of 3 staff members prior to pouring so they could see it only to see them all just stare at me and do nothing. When asking for the bill the waitress was abrupt throwing it down in front of me accompanied by "check the bill". There was not a please or thank you uttered by the staff the entire evening. All up I spent nearly $400 and received extremely bland food and terribly rude and inattentive service. Do not go to this restaurant!
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, nice environment
Teppanyaki: Tenderloin and wagyu steak were great; wagyu was juicy and melt-in-the-mouth. Must try the foie gras - rich taste, excellent! Sashimi: Tuna fresh and thickly cut. Overall environment was comfortable (teppanyaki counter top and glass were very clean and well maintained - kudos to staff!), staff were polite and not intrusive.
Be the first to ReplyA great birthday dinner at Tatsu
I choose Tatsu for my wife birthday celebration and it was perfect! We sat at Sushi counter which was quiet and it suits the occasion. We had salmon and uni Sashimi, the recommended Aburi sushi (yes a definite must try!!) and the wagyu + lobster Teppanyaki course. All the food taste really really delicious. The complimentary birthday cake is so rich in macha flavour too! Overall, we definitely enjoy our dining experience here and will want to come back again.
Be the first to ReplyMid-priced authentic Japanese food
It was past 930pm but the affable manager, Nick, allowed us to have a last bite after my work. They are fully booked for 2 rounds of Teppanyaki (at 630pm and 830pm) for the next few weekendsm At the heart of Chijmes, Tatsu offered very fresh Japanese food with nice ambience and extremely friendly staff. To expedite things, i quickly ordered within 3 minutes. But being my first time there, i wasn't certain what was good and special. I thus ordered a mixture of cooked and raw food to try everything. Their Hamachi Sashimi was very fresh and tender. Their Beef Sirloin Teppanyaki was cooked just rightly medium rare, as requested! It was not chewy and you could taste the freshness inside as well as the Teppanyaki flavour on the outside. The Salmon Maki was made right in front of me and flamed nicely. While chatting with the Chef, as I was seated right in front, I considered taking over the blowtorch from him. It looked so easy and fun! I also tried their Beef Tongue Garlic Fried Rice, which was delicious and again, not overcooked. Their prices are mid-range and the quality of food was great! When the lockdown is over, I will try to come again. #choowai2021 #wongchoowai #wongchoowaieats #tatsu #tatsujapanesecuisine #japanesefood #beef #teppanyaki #teppanyakigrill #chijmes #chijmessingapore #sashimi #sashimilover #friedrice #garlicfriedrice #maki #dinnertonight #dinnerdate #sgfoodinfluencers #sgfoodbloggers #sgfood #sgfoodie #yummylicious
