Gone downhill.
As a long time customer, recent changes have spoiled this once anticipated morning experience. Coffee refills are no longer free but full price! Plasticware no longer includes a knife for cutting. Staff is constantly revolving impacting the once friendly, welcoming atmosphere.

Talula, thank you, for having such a different variety of many things to choose from. All looked amazing and for the couple of things I purchased, they where delicious. I would be happy and definitely interested in joining you and the girls that work there, at another time, at your table for just about anything you create.

The setting, food and service were all amazing, We had a party of eleven. Each course was interesting with great presentation and delicious. Everyonehad a different a favorite “best” course pick—as they were ALL grand! The added small bites and breads were also delicious. The servers were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Thank you for providing a wonderful place and atmosphere for a family celebration.

Haven’t had the pleasure of having dinner here (I’ve been told reservations are a year out! Wow!), but their pastries are great. My favorites are the coffee cake and the cranberry/pear scones. So good! They have lots of specialty foods. I try to buy my favorite and something new every time to keep trying things. So far…nothing has disappointed.

Inconsistent recipe for the mushroom spread which we’ve had many times and it was delicious a staple we’d bring to any party we had or event we attended The last two times we bought it we ended up throwing in the garbage because the amount of truffle oil in it was just terrible. More than a touch of truffle oil can absolutely ruin a recipe and the previous preparation‘s were great. We won’t buy it again as we’ve had two times with the same experience. Very unfortunates and costly
Be the first to ReplyStale/old Croissants
Recently moved to the area with family. I order from here periodically and the baked goods are usually good, This time they sent 3 old croissants that just weren't edible. For a bakery and at $3.50 each they should not be old, but especially because it's a croissant and people buy croissants at a bakery for a reason.
Disappointed and reconsidering whether to order again because often restaurants send old inventory to people who order online. It is not a good business tactic.
If I lived in Kennett Square I'd be a regular
Chef at Portabello's suggested this place for breakfast. Thank you, chef. Staff here all friendly and helpful. Got ham & brie and a salad for lunch- both excellent. Chocolate chip cookie was spectacular. Next day for breakfast, the banana/choco scone did not disappoint. Wish we could have heated up the frittata, but still good at room temperature.

Stopped in for mushroom soup to go and ended up with a wonderful salad, & fresh French bread for a very enjoyable take home meal. Flaky lemon/ginger scone for breakfast. Can’t wait to go back
DELICIOUS
We stopped in and their food is to die for. Everything you can pick will be amazing. I only wish we would have had a chance to be introduced to this delicious shop pre-COVID. That being said, they have all kinds of treats ready to go. And buy them, you should!!

Wow. What an extraordinary evening at Talula's Table. A wonderful small place with a few tables and a chef's 8 course meal. Personal and wonderful service. The food was incredible. Starting with several small appetizers each a delightful bite. Wonderful bread and butter. A seasonal 8 course meal locally sourced. The taste combinations were creative and delicious. After the last course, when we were totally full of incredible food, there was one last tasty treat. Support this wonderful local business by coming to Talula's Table. You will not be disappointed. One of the best meals I have ever had.

Best mushroom soup I have ever had- even best in this mushroom capital of USA. Tomato soup also excellent. Few but very well choosen cheeses- Humboldt Fog maybe the best cheese I have ever had- to die for. Really disliked yellow gazpacho- didn't work for me. Staff always very nice, nice earthy atmo too.
Be the first to ReplySo fortunate to have secured a table at Talula’s!
So fortunate to have secured a reservation for Talula’s! From the moment we arrived the folks at Talula’s were so warm and welcoming. Dinner was fantastic; all nine of us just loved the whole evening. It’s pretty hard to get a reservation, but it is so worth it... truly a destination dining experience that is worth the extra effort. And thanks so much to Katie and Mia!

Friends in my neighbor have mentioned this restaurant from time to time. In late-December, I checked out the restaurant on the Internet. I discovered some open dates in early January. I promptly contacted the restaurant by email and requested a reservation for the Farm Table. They gave me several days to see if I could get the minimum number of people required (8 people). Within a week, I had a group of 12 people, enough to fill the table. Talula's emailed me the 8-course tasting menu for the dinner with suggested wine pairings from Moore Brother’s, as well as other information about attending dinner there (e.g., arrival time, checks not accepted, approximate cost for dinner).
I liked the idea of a single corkage fee for the entire table--a flat rate of $15. We didn't try to divvy up wine assignments for each course, because of a variety of drinking preferences among my group. Instead, we each brought wines we liked and would drink with each course we were served. I even brought along a Coravin Wine Preservation device to "open" a fine bottle of red wine for the seafood and lamb courses, so that my wife and I could finish--and enjoy--the bottle sometime in the future.
We arrived at 7 pm for some light hors d'oeuvres and socializing. The staff graciously opened our bottles of wine and poured them for each couple or single person. (I did the Coravin bottle myself, however.) Dinner was served at 7:30 pm.
Our servers were Donna and Mia. They were great. They were cheerful, friendly, and quickly responded to any requests we made. They kept track of which wine belong to whom, so that people could enjoy the wine they brought.
The Farm Table was towards the back of the restaurant. It was relatively quiet, and we could easily converse with each other at the table.
Talula's has a well-deserved reputation for the quality of its food. I loved all the courses. They were small portions, so you could enjoy the entire meal without getting too stuffed. The courses were delectable, flavorful, and savory: Hamachi Crudo, Foie Gras Mascarpone Mousse, Sunchoke 'Earth Apple' Soup, Dijon Gnocchi, Miniature Rockfish 'Cioppino', Lamb Persillade, 'Noblette' Brie, and Mexican Dark Chocolate Tart. It was a gourmet meal for a relatively affordable price ($108 plus tax plus 20% gratuity + share of corkage fee, totaling $141 per person for my group). We left extra tip, because of the excellent service.
If you're a foodie, you must dine here. It may take a year to get a reservation. Keep checking back on the website in case there have been cancellations, so that you can take advantage of such opportunities.
A Great Dinner with Friends and Family
Having booked a year in advance, the dinner was worth the wait. Only 2 large tables in the entire restaurants they are yours for the night.
The food was great, starting with passed canapés, then an additional 8 courses. We all brought some pretty great wines from our cellars which accompanied the fine food perfectly.
Great night of fine foods, fine wine and good conversation.
People rave
Friends and colleagues rave about Talula's. I was only able to stop in for a sandwich and a coffee and both were perfect for me.
