Amazing restaurant!.. one major flaw though
The food is epic. The lunch chirashi is something I dream of it is so good!! But as the title mentions, there is one major flawโฆ
They are not in any food delivery app. Not DoorDash. Not Grubhub. Not Uber eats. Nothing. My company would literally order this for lunch every day if they cooperated with any food delivery app. Really is a shame because we donโt have time to drive from Tysons to Vienna for lunch so it has become a VERY rare treat.
Management: please donโt be stubborn and choose one food delivery app. You will make your customers happier, especially since they have closed their dining room. Seems a no brainer but thatโs just my two cents.
What Happened?
Carry out sushi. Really terrible. New owners. Not what it used to be. Dry, overcooked rice. Miso? Sorry, not so. Will not visit again. Will drive to Tachibana in McLean. A shame, since we have been coming here since it opened.
Be the first to ReplyRude Staff, Stay away
Staff is extremely rude and I will never go to this place again. I walk around the outside of this place and see no signs saying not to come in, only a "We're Open" sign. With no one outside to ask, I walk in (with mask on), walk 2 feet to face the staff, while maintaining 10 feet of distance mind you, but as I go to ask where to place orders they start yelling at me. They have had over 4 months to get their COVID protocols down and yet a single sign, instead they prefer to yell at their patrons. If this is how a sushi place deals with COVID I recommend you stay away.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic Lunch, But It's Reserved Up on Weekends - Phone Reserve Ahead
Walked into Sushi Yoshi on a whim. It is located in an unassuming corner on Church Street in Vienna. Was surprised that the empty tables were all reserved at lunchtime on a July Saturday so took two seats at the sushi bar. Just fine. Great service there. Sure enough all the tables were taken up by patrons once we arrived. We had the sushi, the fried oysters, and vegetable teriyaki. Fabulous. Ate every bite, even though we had over-ordered to sample. What a great meal. This place is a hidden gem. You also need a little patience for the parking but a nice restaurant with great service gives you patience. Thank You Sushi Yoshi, we will be back.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect place to try new sushi
The best part of this restaurant besides the food is the ability to order half portions of most regular rolls. This is great if you wanted to try a bunch of new rolls without breaking the bank. The restaurant isn't that large and it can be crowded, but if you go when it opens you shouldn't have a problem getting a table.
Be the first to ReplyUnbeatable for the price
My wife and I absolutely love sushi and had tried Sushi Yoshi before and it was good but nothing out of the norm.
Since moving out to Reston, we have begun to frequent Sushi Yoshi due to it's proximity and it definitely warrants 5 stars. The sushi itself is very good but the prices are absolutely phenomenal for the area. Their regular a la carte menu is cheaper than almost every happy hour that has included sushi somewhere else.
This small, quaint establishment with great food at unbelieveable prices should be one of your first stops in the Vienna and surrounding areas, especially if you are a sushi lover!
It would be better if it did not smell so bad
We really like sushi dishes so we were looking for something new to try out. The first thing you notice about this restaurant before you even enter it is the very strong smell of fish and garbage. We weren't sure walking up where it was actually coming from, but it became very clear when we opened the door! The restaurant was very packed and it was hard to walk around to the table because it was so busy. I had the Bento Box A combination and my husband ordered sushi from the lunch menu. It was large portions for each dish and the food was good. The servers and staff were very nice as well, but the smell it and the tight feeling in the restaurant is a little unbearable. I'm not sure if we would go back but it's a good place to try if you want something new.
Be the first to Replybest sushi and chirashi, but very crowded
one of the best value restaurant in my view, especially for chirashi, but very tight spot, and hard to find parking. For 2nd time, we call in for take out, which was better deal in my view
Be the first to ReplyAs good as Japan
Our family often visits Sushi Yoshi and we love it. We lived in Japan for over two years and this place is the real deal down to the pork and chicken Katsu and Miso soup. The staff is very quick as is the food delivery to the table. Be sure to call ahead to get a reservation as it is a small dining area and it fills up quickly. In warmer weather they have a very nice outdoor patio. The prices are very fair especially with regard to the outstanding and fresh quality of the food.
