The chef is friendly, way too modest for how talented he is. Casual ambiance so you can comfortably chat, enjoyably eat, or just bask in peaceful silence if that's what you prefer. The app is a beautifully seared Flounder over veggies with a touch of miso. The omakase is a fantastic selection of fish, a logical progression from light and lean to lean and mean to fat and decadence. Halibut with a splash of yuzu starts the series, then a meaty Japanese Mackerel. Bluefin Tuna is meatier, followed by a a pretty pink piece of Goldeneye Snapper. This one was wrapped in kombu which adds an aroma, an amplification of the fragrance that was already in the fish - it's brilliant. Seared Scallop - love the singe, followed by a meltaway Toro.A slice of Sardine Roll stuffed with ginger and green onion provides a palate cleanser. It starts again with Striped Jack, then Sweet Shrimp, then Sawara. Japanese Barracuda is still warm from being freshly seared, and they tell you to eat it quickly so the nori still has crunch. This fish finishes like pure silk - I don't think I've had anything with this unique sweet-flaky-buttery flavor profile before. A bowl of Uni and Ikura, and it's almost over. The ikura is smooth, with none of the fishiness or abrasive brininess, and the uni is always awesome.A mini Futomaki to finish, filled with kanpyo and tamago, and they give us a fizzy shot of Yuzu Soda for the road.It's just the lunch nigiri and it's perfect. If this is lunch, I can only imagine what dinner would be.
