Omakase on the roof in the heart if NYC
We went out last Thursday with our friends for an omakase experience in the wonderful place. Located in the heart of the Times Square. There are two restaurants there so dont get confused when entering. Plenty of street (if you lucky) and indoor parking. Seating available by the window or even at chefโs table to watch them cook. All sushi were very unique and tasty. I even ate uni (which i typically dont like).. Drinks were plenty and based on a fact that everyone kept ordering more (i dont drink) - they must have been good. Service was pleasant and not overbearing with โdo you want another drinkโ A la carte menu available if you are not interested in omakase. Prices are very reasonable as compared to similar places in far less busy and popular locations. Check them out.

Delicious find. Fab roof top restaurant. Well heated and very comfortable. We at the 15 course tasting menu and the food was Amazing! Tried fish and flavour we had never experienced before. It was soooo good. Service exceptional with each course explained well. Lovely sake and wine. Waiters helpful to suggest good drink pairing. Loved it!

The sushi is delicious, but the crispy tuna and tuna tatare are especially recommended. The staff is friendly and the view is beautiful

Came here for Sunday lunch at the rooftopโhad a delicious meal! Loved the decor of the greenery and plants all over. Started off with the Chicken Gyoza, wasnโt a huge fan of the sauce thatโs drizzled on it. The Chicken Katsu Sandwich and Washugyu Beef Roll ($21) were good! If you like raw fish, the Omakase: The Lab Experiment, with 15 signature courses for $100 is highly recommendedโmy fiancรฉ was in heaven and said the fish was fresh and delicious! I tried some of the cooked items (soft-shell crab & eel roll) and they were good! For cocktails, I recommend the Lychee Martini ($16)โsuper tasty!

Not only is the place amazing, but the food is also spectacular. The location is curious, since you have to go through hallways of rooms in the hotel where it is located. The place is beautiful and very quiet. Despite being a rooftop, the views are not great because it is not very high, but it still has its charm. Very friendly and attentive service. The price is high, but for a special occasion, it is worth it. Although the prices are per units (pieces), the Specialty Rolls are actually eight. Be careful with this when ordering! The Tokio Mule to accompany is a must. A 100% recommendable place.
Be the first to ReplyInnovative sushi, fancy rooftop terrace
Sushi Lab Rooftop is located on the top floor of Sanctuary Hotel on 47th St between 6th and 7th Ave. When entering the hotel, you go to the reception desk to check in for your restaurant reservation, and get escorted through the lobby to an elevator that is hard to find if you visit for the first time. The restaurant has great views of the nearby buildings - in summer, it is an open rooftop terrace, in winter it gets converted into a covered restaurant. The style is modern and stylish, most guests were in their 20s or 30s. You order a variety of sushi creations - certainly not your traditional Japanese sushi, but a modern interpretation with different flavors and textures. We found all dishes excellent, and loved the fact that we could simply order more if necessary as there is no specific sequence. We enjoyed the house sake with our food, which was nice and fresh. We found the price level absolutely appropriate. The place gets really busy, so better have a reservation.
Be the first to ReplyHidden gem and great for sushi lovers
This is a hidden gem. We sat at the chef's table and it was amazing to see the attention to detail they put into making each dish. The food itself was very good, and the matcha creme brulee dessert was one of the best things I've eaten for a long time. We were chatting to one of the staff who, on finding out we were on our honeymoon, immediately went away to get us free champagne, typifying the level of service.

Blech. Overpriced, dirty and they overcompensate for their bad sushi w a lot of โaioliโ which often just meant a straight drizzle of mayo.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing!
Amazing! The Omakase is an experience you should not miss. Itโs not just great sushi, but the preparation that is amazing - unique toppings paired perfectly with each piece. Such a cool environment on the roof! Secret access to a beautiful garden-like seating area. Such a special experience, I try to go every time Iโm in NYC!

Be the first to ReplySushi Lab on East 11th street is an experience
My wife and I have been here a few times now and we both absolutely loved it each time. we have only tried the 13 course experience which is just what they said an experience. 13 pieces artfully prepared from great ingredients with an amazing array of flavors. The staff is warm and friendly. We highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyPicturesque Rooftop
Sushi Lab Rooftop is kind of a Speakeasy restaurant, as it is a bit hidden away, giving you that โplace with the secret accessโ feeling. It is inside the Sanctuary Hotel, and there is a check in counter to the right of the entrance for Sushi Lab. It is a bit tricky to get to the rooftop, just keep following the signs... You can NOT go all the way up there via elevator, you need to go up the last floor(s) though the staircase. The rooftop is a covered space, so it was nice and warm, and very pretty. Definitely picturesque. No need to worry about bad weather here. We requested counter seats at the time of reservation, so we got to have a nice view of the sushi chefs making all the tasty creations. The sushi chefs were not Japanese, but I guessed that much before we went thereโฆ I was there for more of the experience than a real deal, authentic sushi made by sushi chefs with years and years of training. We started with some cocktails, we ordered Lychee Martini and Strawberry Geisha. They were tasty, but very sweet. Much sweeter than expected but also quite strong. For the food, we wanted to do Omakase, and we chose The Lab Experiment. It is a 15 signature course with some of the finest ingredients like truffle, wagyu, and caviar. It is stated โThe Lab Experience is a journey for the sensesโ โ which sounds very exciting! Everything we had was really good. Fresh and melt in your mouth. Some creative pieces, and we enjoyed them all. We had a nice, tasty lunch that felt luxurious. The service was really great, friendly and polite. I told them that we were celebrating my hubbyโs birthday at the time of reservation, and they gave him a glass of Prosecco on the house! How wonderful is that??? Sushi chef was very nice and polite also. Spoke clearly with each piece, explaining what they were. It was such a fun, relaxing experience.

The sashimi quality is excellent. We loved the sushi and rolls. I have eaten there several times and can't wait to go back. Love it!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Japanese food on the roof of the hotel
Really enjoyed omakase experience at the chiefโs counter. Excellent fresh fish and seafood, skillfully prepared. Friendly service with smiles and attention. Loved the shrimp, squid, toro, sea brim, sea bass, sea urchin very much, but fried oyster was the best. Nice use of condiments, citrus, mushrooms. Summer cocktails were refreshing too. Food was superb, giving 4 stars as the booking experience was a little confusing snd while location on the rooftop of a hotel is lovely, had to walk not the most pleasant stairs to get there. Overall highly recommend for couples, groups of friends and everyone who loves Japanese food.

The ambiance is good and the sushi is great. Everything we tried was excellent. We dined at the counter which is always fun to watch the sushi masters at work.

Hard to believe this spot garners so many positive reviews. Decided to try this spot before a Broadway show recently as it is conveniently located and comes highly recommend on TikTok etc. We were so excited to try the full omakase at $100 per person. Upon being seated at the sushi bar we noticed that the chefs were lining up full trays of pre sliced fish in an assembly line fashion without gloves on. All varieties of fish were in a pile without separation. Nothing was made to order. Very misleading and disappointing . Fish was subpar at best, looked nothing like the pictures posted, have had better at La Guardia . Have to wonder -are all the reviews made by paid influencers ?
