Will return again and again
Phenomenal food. Every single thing we had was delicious, and very accommodating to food restrictions and allergies!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent birthday celebration!
Great food, extremely professional service and good drinks made for a great night. We all ordered the special with multiple apps, first courses and mains, and every bite was wonderful, with the one small exception that the two of us who ordered the roasted lamb main were a bit disappointed. Every other dish was just great. We loved it and will definitely be back!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent service, but meh food. Overpriced and overhyped
Let's start with the best- SERVICE! Tracy is awesome! The food- the Oyster Mushroom kababs- amazing! The Shrimp and the kebabs- meh Overall- over priced and overhyped. We had eaten at another small lebanese place around the corner a few days before, where the food was incredible.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing Mediterranean food in FISHTOWN.
We came here on a Monday night without reservations and we were lucky to get a beautiful spot outside . The restaurant is large and tastefully decorated. The cuisine is high end Mediterranean. We tried some new dishes and they were all delicious. Our wait staff was on point . A great experience and well worth the trip to FISHTOWN, just make sure and have a reservation.
Be the first to ReplyBest ambiance, service and food in Philly!
Best place for lunch or dinner - the lamb kebabs and fatteh are amazing! The service is also top notch, you feel taken care of and they make accommodations for everything!

We didn’t have a reservation, I didn’t think it would be crowded on a Wednesday night. I was wrong. However, you can order appetizers in their lounge and we ordered almost all of them. So good! Next time we are in the area, I will make sure to reserve. Fun drinks and food. Great service!
Be the first to ReplyMust go to Suraya!!
Suraya is a beautifully decorated restaurant with delicious and authentic Middle Eastern dishes. Our Fathers Day family brunch was perfect. From appetizers to entrees and freshly served coffees, the meal was so good. Great service too. Definitely a gem and must try spot!!!
Be the first to ReplyThe BEST LEBANESE food in the United States!
The BEST LEBANESE food in the United States! The ambiance is amazing, the staff is really nice and the food is unique and delicious. I would come back to Philly just to eat there!!
Be the first to ReplyBest food ever!
I absolutely love the fresh food here. The freshly baked pita and mideastern pastries rock. This is my go to restaurant every time I'm in Philadelphia.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful Food but with Some Annoyances
Great food, unique presentation, great atmosphere. Several small annoyances: server brought check without asking if we were ready for it. We weren’t, we were still drinking our wine. That says “please hurry up and leave.” A second small annoyance was the $2.00 additional charge for one of the dishes included in the mandatory $75 fixed price dinner weekend menu. Third was the additional 3% added into the bill to provide benefits for the kitchen staff. (Great idea to pay them a living wage with benefits. But it might be better to build it into the menu prices like every other restaurant.) Fourth, the dessert was Chef’s choice, which means you may get things you don’t like, the waitress didn’t ask, and we did get a dessert we don’t prefer. Last, $15 to park in their lot.

This was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Every dish we had was delicious. We shared a variety of mezzas and main dishes, and it was a fun experience. Service was outstanding and the restaurant was beautiful. Highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyAnniversary Lunch
Went to celebrate with our kids for lunch at Suraya. Kourtney K was our server. We had a 1:30 reservation and were seated at 1:45pm,. There were 6 of us. We ordered appetizers and drinks after waiting for our server. She told us that it was a fluid kitchen and when items came up they would be served. That was fine. My husband doesn't eat pita bread and asked for vegetables with the hummus and the baba gahnoush. Other items came.. no vegetables. When the vegetables came, we asked for more dips and we were told the kitchen was closed and there was nothing more we could order. Just like that.. like literally just like that. It was 2:15pm. Kourtney became very snippy with us when we asked to get another drink. Only coffee was available. Why have a last seating when everything closes? The cash register was still open. Other people were there and were being served. How is this restaurant rated so highly when the service is so poor. Service was so poor that I even had to serve the table water.

Their food is just wonderful. The lamb is especially wonderful and I look forward to it every time I go!
Be the first to ReplyTop Restaurant Experience Ever
Have lived in places around the world with phenomenal restaurants and this is definitely top 3 all time. An absolute must from top to bottom.
Be the first to ReplyUnbelievable!
This may have been one of the greatest restaurants I have ever been to. All of the food was inexplicably delicious, the atmosphere was beautiful and inviting, if you’re even thinking about going you must! You won’t regret it!
Be the first to ReplyThis is a one in a million place.
Were invited here by friends, and boy, are we glad we were!!!!! The food is INCREDIBLE !!. `the starters were delicious, the poussin was to die for, with amazing meat soaked potatoes. The kebab was just sublime. Every dish here is incredible. I dont think there can be a better place in town. If you are here for just one night, this is the place. They also have a great outdoor space.
Be the first to ReplyBlown Away!
From the moment we arrived to the time we left, Suraya provided one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long, long time. The wait staff was amazing. The food was exceptional! We'll definitely be back
Be the first to ReplyTrendy Lebanese
We loved the vibe/decor at this sophisticated, trendy restaurant. We waited for our friends at the indoor bar which was the only critique. While we were able to find 2 seats, I would have preferred to wait at the outside bar, but we were told it was a service bar only. The outdoor area is beautiful, but apparently you can only get drinks and appetizers out there. Nevertheless, our food was delicious from start to finish. I loved the baba ganoush mezza, the hummous, and the raw yellowtail. The grilled branzino filet was perfectly cooked, and I was thrilled that the red pepper sauce was slightly spicy. What a welcome change! Also, the service was impeccable. We were impressed by the large staff.
Be the first to ReplyPhenomenal dining experience!
My husband and I were in Philly to celebrate our anniversary. We chose Suraya because it was highly recommended by a friend. It did not disappoint. Everything about this place was phenomenal. The decor was elegant and inviting. The customer service was top notch. Our server was super attentive and knowledgeable. It was such amazing culinary dining experience from beginning to end. We did tasting menu which is required on Friday or Saturday night. From presentation to flavor, every bite was exceptional. I highly recommend going here.
Be the first to ReplyHyped and Overrated!
Good ambience and very AVERAGE food! Friendly courteous staff, BUT forgot to place an order for one, in our party of four!! Mezze is the best part of the menu, the entré were over priced and under-whelming! Meats were dry or burnt (lamb), what is astonishing is how does one dry out fish(Bronzini)!!?!! For the price it is not worth it. Skip this and spend your money elsewhere.
Be the first to ReplySo much hype- Not impressed
We went for my mother’s birthday because this is her favorite restaurant. Honestly, I don’t get it. There is a fantastic Mediterranean restaurant a few minutes from where we live and the meal we had there was so much better and a fraction of the cost. We were there on a Saturday and required to have the price fixed menu. You get one hot appetizer per person, one entree and cold appetizers and deserts for the table. The cold appetizers were fine. Hummus and eggplant were good but they put too much oil on top of the hummus. The pita bread was fresh and hot. My hot appetizer of potato and long hots was good. For entree, my bf and I had the porterhouse for two- for an extra $40 up-charge. We were notified of the up-charge when ordering which I appreciated. The steak was good- it saved the meal for my bf. We both thought the portion was a bit small for the price. And we had just visited Capital Grill the week before so we didn’t expect a cheap steak but still thought that for two people and the up-charge it was a little small. The desserts were inedible for us but we really don’t care for anything they brought out. Just a lot of dishes covered in nuts and honey. I wouldn’t have ordered dessert here but they bring it. They walk around and check your time because you are only allowed to stay for two hours. I don’t mind that, but they could be a little less obvious with the clipboard and hovering as you eat. The place is so loud with music and the noise from patrons is very loud. Overall, the most important thing was how much my mother enjoyed herself at her favorite restaurant. I didn’t agree and I personally won’t be back.
Be the first to ReplyWILL NOT BE COMING BACK
The restaurant itself is very nice with a dim lighting and nice decorations. Food was rather expensive so we were expecting amazing. Unfortunately, it more than fell short. My friend's brother and I ordered roasted lamb and they both were flavorless, dry and tasted like charcoal! Seriously bad! We never complained about the food because we were hungry and didn't have time to wait. My food was nothing to write home about and although our server was very nice and my eggplant old-fashioned was good too, not enough to warrant the food prices. Needless to say, I will not be returning and if anyone is willing to pay $35 for a burnt lamb please come to my house because I can make them the way they should be.

Hospitality Failure
Our time at Suraya November 6, 2021
We arrived early, told we could not be seated until our 830p reservation. No problem.
We went for a drink elsewhere, as their bar was full. We returned at 830p.
and then told the table was not ready. I asked the hostess if they let diners know, they have a 2 hour window for dining and there is a reservation at 8:30p. Did they have the check? Yes, we are former restauranteurs.
I was told we should go to the fire pit in the back of the restaurant or speak to a manager. Unfriendly. Not offered a drink, nuts etc. a gracious gesture. We were not seated for another 20+minutes.
We were finally seated in Siberia, that is the back "room" outdoor garden area.
There was one overhead heater at one end of the table. We were a bit cold. Initially it was tolerable.
Our waiter, finally arrived at the table, told us his name and repeatedly called us friends. Not appreciated. He explained at great length how the Prix Fixe menu worked. The 4 of us were Required to Order a $70pp Prix Fixe. (Friday and Saturday)
The appetizers arrived, the sommelier did not, apparently a conversation with him was the way to order wine. He was great. A shout out to him who confirmed and with an excellent explanation my husband's wine choice. The wine did not get poured until we were mid-way through the appetizers. Many appetizers are offered, likely to make sure you are not too hungry for the main course. The appetizers were fine, no real stand-outs. We had to flag down the waiter/runner for more pita bread.
The entrees arrived and Without the appetizers being cleared. The waiter did ask at one point if we were finished with the appetizers which we clearly were not. And his return brought the entrees. I don't think it's possible to be more Unprofessional. Clearly the waiter fired the entrees too early. He had basically neglected our table.
The entrees , Halibut Kebab, Lamb ordered two different ways, Bronzino, well prepared with smallish portions.
It was getting late and colder, with the one heater less effective. The music is blasting, likely to mask the train noise which comes approx. every 20 minutes. Being very cold made the music more intrusive and unpleasant.
Our plates were cleared, no one crumbed the table. The waiter disappeared again, maybe doing side work?
It was very cold and it was late. After waiting yet again, 20 +minutes we flagged down a runner asking about our dessert.(No choice) A manager arrived and didn't crumb the table but put down flatware. Finally we flagged another runner and I said box the desserts. We were freezing cold.
I complained, they said they could not adjust the prix fixe pricing but they did remove the wine from the check.
While the decor throughout is great and the outdoors could be most enjoyable in the Spring and early Fall, it is simply not the case below 50 degrees.
The owners need to be less Gordon Gekko and spend money on training and stop seating in the cold weather. (or perhaps get additional heaters at each end of the table or give free blankets to the patrons :). And play music that has less bass.
The value proposition is just not there. If this is what hipsters have wrought on the hospitality industry then the public is missing truly wonderful experiences.
This is not a serious restaurant, go elsewhere.
Disappointing
First of all it was a big birthday for me and my husband had notified the restaurant. It was never mentioned. The cocktail I ordered tasted (and felt) like it had very little if no alcohol in it. Mostly ice. I am very susceptible to alcohol and can usually feel it immediately - nothing. For $14 that is ridiculous! Next, the service (other than the request to use the QR code) was sub par. I don't understand the QR concept for this upscale place. There were many servers running around but we got little attention. The starters were good. The fish was overcooked and costly. The noise level (mainly from the music) was too loud.
I had to almost yell to make myself heard.
At the end of the meal there was no mention of my birthday and in fact the waiter seemed anxious to get our bill to us! He seemed surprised when we asked for the dessert menu (which we didn't order because at that point we were very ready to leave!). We were looking forward to this dinner and were pretty disappointed. $175??? No thanks.
Food was delicious with overpriced drinks
There were 15 of us for a birthday party and the restaurant ambience is delightful inside and out. The choices of entrées is plentiful and the food was delicious. Everyone enjoyed everything they had. I had a pet peeve with a drink that I ordered for $14 and most of it was ice. I asked if They could take out some of the ice and they brought it in a smaller glass. To me that was a total rip off. I think the drinks were very pricey. Also, it was very, very noisy. Every so often you can hear the train too. Street Parking is a challenge.
