Wish I had read the reviews here before going. Every negative stated is true! We waited over one and half hours to get our food after we ordered. They were just two filets and a side of potatoes -- not a hard order. Granted it was Christmas Day but they need to account for that and take fewer reservations if necessary. It was our first (and last) time there. The ledge by our booth was dirty. In fact the diner behind us took a picture. The hostesses had no personality and never cracked a smile. We expect more from an upscale steak house. Please read these comments before you go. In fact, the management needs to read these comments and act on them.
Be the first to ReplyPut this restaurant our of its misery and shut it down
We went here for Christmas. After sitting for an hour and a half, our main dish was no where in sight. I asked the waitress about our order and she just offered us more bread. She then sent the manager and the first thing she said was "Do you want me to cancel your order as it's going to be a while." I asked her to find out how long. She came back and said it would be another 45 minutes and repeated "Do you want me to cancel your order." This was our Christmas dinner! This restaurant is a joke and has no business being a restaurant as they cannot figure out how to serve food. Just because they are open for Christmas DON'T GO THERE! We ended up leaving with no Christmas dinner and lots of wasted time.
Be the first to ReplyThanksgiving Dinner at Sullivans Ok but Falls Short
I love the ambiance of this restaurant, a classic steak house with white table clothes...so impressive. We had the prix menu on Thanksgiving. Cocktails were good. Lobster Bisque was flavorful, but had no lobster. Sides and portion sizes were good. Turkey was over salted and somewhat dry. Entrees for everyone at our table were missing gravy and cranberry and wait service was friendly and could have been more attentive. Wine ordered wasn't what was served as we found out later. A cheaper Mer Soliel was served, not the reserve advertised and ordered.
Be the first to ReplyChanging menu a worthwhile experience
Having been here many time before, I was pleased to see they have revised their menu. They added an appetizer that I would highly recommend - The Shanghai Calamari. It is wonderful. Yes, our steaks were great as was the service from Josh. The new "Sure Thing" price fixed menu was a great deal. But the highlight was the calamari. Try it!
Be the first to ReplyGreat food…terrible service
We have been coming here for the last two years and have probably spent upwards of $10,000. The food and drinks are always delicious (except for the calamari and the “lobster” mac n cheese- calamari is low grade all-rings frozen calamari, the lobster mac n cheese has a pitiful amount of lobster…not worth it at all). We keep coming back because they have gift cards at Costco for 25-30% off…otherwise we would never pay full price here. Hands down the worst service I’ve ever experienced at a “fine” dining/upscale steakhouse or anyplace at this price point. I understand it’s Tucson and the talent pool is limited, but WOW…pathetic service (except for Luis- he’s amazing). They’re not attentive, they’re not warm and welcoming, they don’t try and make you feel special, we’ve had to wait over an hour before for our food (1hr from the time we ordered) and the server didn’t even bother letting us know what the hold up was. The managers are really nice but I would be ashamed of the quality of service from the servers and bussers. ***Except for Luis*** he is an amazing server and you need to request him if you can. If they get rid of Luis, all hope is lost. Luis, the server needs a raise. He’s amazing.
Be the first to ReplyNot just steak, fabulous seafood!
This place is amazing! It was the best seafood I have had in Arizona since moving here 10 months ago! The calamari appetizer was huge and so tender. The sea scallops were nice and fresh and cooked just right! The waiter, Mathew was knowledge, professional and extremely competent. We will definitely come back again!
Be the first to ReplyTotal disappointment
From start to finish it was a total disappointment. Strong chemical smell hit us the moment we walked in the front door. Staff from front of house to back needs training. Food was subpar. Bathrooms need attention. Best advice is to avoid at all costs.
Be the first to ReplySULLIVANS STEAKS ARE TAUGH & UNDERCOOKED!
I went to Sullivans for Mothers day the steaks were hard, Undercooked, I will never go back or recommend to anyone
Be the first to ReplyTired place. Needs update
Sullivans showed on their site as an upperclass steakhouse. Their menu prices seem to reflect that. Their steaks are prices along the same lines as a Flemings, Mortons and other high end steakhouses. We went for the happy hour/Bar bites. The bar bites and the drinks were good. We enjoyed them. However, this Sullivans location is in desperate need of a facelift. The bar area has a ceiling that is filthy. Tiles were black or blackened in many areas. The outside dining area had shabby, faded curtains hanging in knots and were in need of updating. The men's and women's bathrooms had broken and missing floor tiles. In general, the whole place looked tired. Our waiter was good until we wanted to pay and we lost him. We were only one of three parties in the bar area. We waited for more than 10 minutes and then I had to go to ask the bartender (who walked past us at least 10 times while we were there and never once caught our eyes or smiled at us). Surprisingly, she asked, where we were seated(?!?) We were directly in front of her in the bar- about 5 feet away. She had waited on the table right next to us. This was odd but not a big deal. Just strange from a high end place that would typically have customer oriented employees who want to be sure their customers are enjoying themselves. Not sure if we would go back.
Be the first to ReplyOK but not the greatest food and the price is high
We ate in the bar on a Saturday night and the live music was great. Previously we had come on a Friday which is Jazz night and equally as good. The food and drinks are overpriced and not great. Service is good but again not great especially for the prices they charge. I had two starters, one being a filet in a pastry shell. It was ground meat. Not good. The other was the Ice Berg Lettuce with blue cheese dressing. Dressing was tasteless. I think this is our last visit as we are upset with the quality of the food for the price. Ended up spending 200.00 for what?
