High quality but Mediocre flavors
Last night was my third time dining here, always hoping for improvement & something exciting. Unfortunately, all courses last night were nothing special. If Stubborn Seed were in NYC or San Francisco, it would not even be on Michelin's Bib Gourmand list. My second time dining at Stubborn Seed indicated a slide towards more creative and delicious courses and that's why I went back, but last night all courses were of high quality but of mediocre flavors, and zero creativity. I would only recommend Stubborn Seed for people with conventional and unseasoned palates trying to go a little bit out of their comfort zone……which are a lot of the people out there.
Be the first to ReplyA perfect meal at the bar
Truly one of the best meals we have ever had. We sat at the bar because we did not want to do the large tasting menu (we have some dietary restrictions). We ordered a la carte. Every dish was perfection. A celebration of difference tastes and textures. The drinks were delicious too and the bar tender could not have been sweeter. Thanks for this fantastic meal!
Be the first to ReplyGood food , too much noise , service can improve, bar offers nice sitting
The food is very good and if you sit at the bar you can order from the more limited a la carte menu instead of the so called experience menu at the tables, services is ok at the bar , nothing exceptional, the noise level is high , too high
Be the first to ReplyPerfect pairing
This was an absolutely fabulous culinary experience. Each course was timed precisely and each was more beautiful than the next. We had the wine paring which gave each course a perfect accompaniment. The wait staff were perfectly in tuned with us and anticipated what we may need next. The highlight of the night was when Chef Jeremy Ford came and met us to thank us for coming. We were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary and loved every minute of it.
Be the first to ReplyAsa we entered the place we were surrounded by top friendly people, super good service, good food.
The restaurant offers a long menu but all very small delicious little portions! We hesitated first the « wine pairing » because we are wine lovers but also very happened to take that offer as all wines matched the dishes perfectly 👌🏻
Be the first to ReplyTop restaurant great service great food
We try to dine at at least one Michelin star restaurant on each trip we make - and this one was superb. A chilled but organised vibe - not as stuffy as some European restaurants can be but with impeccable service, and superb food. Good value for a tasting menu of this quality. Highly recommend this place. All staff were fantastic and the food was exactly as it should be.
Be the first to ReplyThe WORST one star Michelin ever!!!
I can’t even explain this place ! I have been in a lot Michelin stars restaurants and this is the WORST by far!!! I don’t understand why they even have a Michelin star, UNBELIEVABLE!! That’s why a lot of people think that the Michelin stars are for sale!! Bad food, bad taste, bad presentation and the actual setup of the restaurant is like being in a TGI Fridays! All wrong! And finally the bill, $700 dlls for the worst dinner ever!!! The day before we were at the CARBONE they don’t have a Michelin star and the place is miles away better than this horrible place! Please stay away of this place!!
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing service
We were really looking forward to this meal as me and my friend really enjoy going to a special restaurant on every trip we make. Unfortunately we were left disappointed, although the food was very nice the service left a lot be desired, our main server was cold and we felt rushed through our meal. It felt like our server wanted his tip and to go home. Attached is a picture of the patronising arrow to the suggested tip portion of the receipt. It was certainly not Michelin starred service and we felt unwelcome. I would not recommend this restaurant. All the other staff were nice and friendly and the food was nice.
Be the first to Reply5 stars to staff and chef!
Amazing dinner and service was incredible and server was amazing and the experience was amazing best birthday dinner ever I’ll be back again!
Be the first to ReplyAlways good!
Home run as usual. Took my 19 year old daughter. I wasn't sure if she would like everything but she ate every bite of everything. I don't even like curry but wow on their curry! I have only done the tasting menu twice here and I would probably not order many of these dishes off a menu so it's nice because you get to try things you would never order. Service never disappoints either. It truly IS an experience.
Be the first to ReplyBe careful of your $100 reservation deposit!!!!
While I enjoyed the food, management and organization is completely lacking so beware before you pay the $100 reservation deposit. My husband and I made a reservation for our anniversary in January by calling after open table messed up the reservation. We then arrived at our reservation time and they said they had no record of our reservation despite me calling the restaurant about 1-2 weeks prior. It's fine, they said they could seat us at 9 so we were happy. The meal was fantastic and we paid a small fortune using my husband's credit card. A month goes by and I am reviewing my personal credit card statement when I see a $100 charge from stubborn seed. I am assuming it was the reservation deposit. However, we did go to our reservation, they just didn't have it in the system!!! I guess whoever I spoke to a month prior made the reservation for the wrong date. So they charged me for the deposit since I wasn't there in February....we do not live in Miami, I was not in Miami in February. I can only assume this is what happened although I can't be certain because I can't get an answer from anyone. I called multiple times, was given the email address for Jacob Beaty, the GM. I corresponded with him various times and am very patient as he explains he has to talk to his "finance department." And then...he ghosts me. No word. After paying an exorbitant amount of money for my dinner in January (which I saved the receipt for to prove it), I am shocked they cannot refund me my $100 when it is very clear there was some kind of error. I did dine at the restaurant. I have the receipt. There is no need to charge me an additional $100 for their mistake. It is sad. And now I have to go through the headache of contacting my credit card company.
Be the first to ReplyMaybe not a place to go if you are gay
It’s a very tightly seated restaurant to be sure, the equivalent of anything in a large city like New York, and I can accept that. The two-tops are less than a foot apart so it can be a bit hard to keep your conversation focus can not be pulled to adjacent tables. But that happens in many great, in-demand restaurants. Sitting in one of those tight tables, among probably a total of twelve total in the main room, one quickly notices the seating hierarchy. All the gay couples, there were three including me, were seated at tight, two tops. All three straight couples were seated at four-tops with settings removed for more space. Not just one, a friend of the chef, someone important, all three. One at a banquette facing the room with unused seats, one at a center four-top with unused seats facing the open kitchen, and one in a primo corner booth facing in. Makes you quickly realize they want your $200 meal money but not really YOU. Food is excellent. Our server Arturo was top-notch and the meal flowed perfectly with wine pairings. Food runners memorization of ingredients was also off-the-charts. But I won’t be returning. I will go where I am wanted

Truly a Michelin restaurant. My wife and I shared seafood dishes, which we washed down with wine recommended by our server. Delicious food. Professional service.
Be the first to ReplySpectacular Meal in Miami Beach
I mean c’mon, it’s not a Michelin restaurant for no reason. Both the food and service were outstanding here. We sat near the kitchen and were able to see the staff working and they were working very hard non stop. I ate everything that was served. I know that sounds weird but I typically do not eat fish at all. I also don’t normally care for lamb. 3 of the courses were fish and lamb. They were all delicious. That’s the difference between a Michelin chef and one who’s not a Michelin chef, the food they prepare is out of this world. I highly suggest the wine pairing with dinner. It really makes the different tastes of the dishes pop. Truly an amazing night out and terrific food. Not even the slightest complaint. Do it!

This was hands down the best meal either of us have had in our lives. The quality of the food was simply outstanding, complements to the entire chef team. The service was impeccable, from timely delivery to the presentation of every single dish. We could not fault this meal whatsoever. We had the wine pairing with the tasting menu, which was perfect. Each wine perfectly complemented the flavour and texture of each dish.
Be the first to ReplyTasting menu - Excellent
Our first time at this Michellin star restaurant with family on a Friday night. Excellent at all categories: atmosphere, locatiin, the service, and of course, the food: Oyster, clams, duck, swordfish, and more. All 8 dishes are well balanced, excellent presentation and delicious! We are definitely coming back.
Be the first to ReplyWhat a fantastic restaurant!
This was a first time at Stubborn Seed. We were there on the weekend and had the tasting menu. We've been to several Michelin starred restaurants and this was among the best. The atmosphere was cozy and comfortable, the service was great, and the food, fantastic! We will be back.
Be the first to ReplyWorth the drive across alligator alley!
The hubs and I were celebrating our 20th. Took a drive across alligator alley and it was all perfect. We normally don't do the tasting menu but it was the only offering and we were happy with it. The passion fruit palette cleanser was incredible. I wish more people did SOMETHING, anything with passion fruit. I would have liked to have seen a different dessert since we had had the olive oil cake several times in the past. Service was excellent. Courses were quick at first and slowed a little as it went but nothing that was annoying or anything. Can't wait to come back sometime again.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent - 5 stars
My husband and I had the pleasure of dining at Stubborn Seed last night for my birthday. The restaurant is beautiful and the table settings excellent. The staff, service and experience were definitely worthy of the drive, price and experience. Although we are not food connoisseurs, I could tell the unique flavors, ingredients and dishes were perfect and what a treat. We dine out often and at many fine restaurants and I do believe this is the best meal we have had in South Florida by far. I highly recommend and it is completely worthy of its Michelin Star restaurant. We chose 3 snacks (as they define it) and two entrees and two desserts. Enjoy.
Be the first to ReplyChef Ford's 8-course multi-sensory tasting menu did not disappoint!
We came for the Cacio E Pepe Cheesy Puffs and stayed for the Peanut Butter Candy Bar, but got so much more from our visit to Stubborn Seed. Wonderful service, expertly selected wine pairings, a glimpse of the talented One Michelin Star staff as they laughed together in the kitchen, and the best dessert we've ever had, the Peanut Butter Candy Bar. If you are in the area or can make the trip to South Beach, don't hesitate to book the tasting menu.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food - worst service
Nomen est omen... The name is an interesting one in the context of our experience, as the food is an amazing highlight that like a seed, is hidden (or overcrowded) by the worst restaurant and waiting service we had in a long time. The level of culinary exquisite execution is marred with mostly careless servers and bad delivery. Exceptions only, if one of the extremely talented kitchen crew brings a dish. All the best to the chefs and their continued creativity - lets hope this place soon has the servers the food deserves.
Be the first to ReplyA Must When You Come to Miami Beach
A gastronomical delight. Do not pass up an opportunity to eat at Stubborn Seed.
The food, the cocktails and the staff were perfection. A wonderful eating experience.
We thoroughly enjoy every minute.
We love it
Excellent restaurant, great service, great food. We come back every time we are in Miami. Highly recommended. We always order the tasting menu and have never been disappointed
Be the first to ReplyThe Gusher
We went on a whim for the experience dinner on the weekend. They only had a 10 o’clock but it was so worth it. 8 courses and we couldn’t figure out which one was the best. Unreal. Well done.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent but one faux pas
All of the food was excellent. They know how to accommodate gluten-free guests and my son loved the vegetable platter they improvised for his vegan diet. My husband’s food (a flounder stew) did come out —-and sit in front of him — more than 15 minutes before the other entrees were served. They were apologetic, but his food was still cold by the time the rest of us were able to start- not what you expect at this price point. Nonetheless, had they comped either that item or my son’s birthday dessert, I likely would not even have mentioned it in this review.
