Stiltsville Fish Bar Miami Beach Reviews from The Last Year
Although I'm a regular at Stiltsville I had my best
Although I'm a regular at Stiltsville I had my best experience today at brunch. Reni was extremely knowledgeable & personable and was able to answer all of my questions about the menu without hesitation. The food never disappoints but today's meal was particularly superb. The fish wings are one of my favorite menu items and I've had them several times but for some reason today's catch was out of this world. And the fact that Reni was able to explain the why's and how's made it that much better of an experience. The conch fritters were phenomenal; not some nonsense cornmeal with a splash of conch, but conch you could taste! My husband and I come here all the time but we brought a first timer with us and were so happy to share this experience with them. We will obviously continue to visit but are so glad we turned someone else onto this place.
Some things are simply excellent and some things are not.
Great service and they dont gauge you for a twenty percent tip.
Great fish and seafood restaurent
We decided to try Stiltsville as it was away from the busy side of Miami Beach . Although not cheap we had a truly excellent meal with great guidance and service from our waiter Kevin who helped us navigate the menu and chose some great starters ( crab cakes and stone crab) and selected an excellent snapper for our main course which was perfectly cooked . The restaurent was full by 7.30 with it seemed mainly locals .. always a good sign . If you like fish and want a special meal this is a great place .
We already decided we'd never go back to Stiltsville during
We already decided we'd never go back to Stiltsville during our lunch today. (even though we supported them weekly during the pandemic!!) That was even before us having to pull over on our drive home as we both immediately felt the runs coming on ! horrible!!! We both didn't feel well after eating there ,as we walked to our car, but we certainly didn't expect to get food poisoning or the runs from it! I Don't know which it was from ,which is scary ,but we think it was from the bad shrimp or the mahi sandwich . We both ordered the fish sandwich and my husband ate his even though he commented on how overly salty it was. I had 3 bites of mine and wished I hadn't! The first bite was sooo salty, I put it down. I had a bite of the arugula salad that accompanied it and there was so much dressing on it, I spit it out into my napkin. How could everything be so bad today ?! At this point I reached over and just shared his lemongrass fries which we love. Even these were so salty I had to take the paper napkins from under my glass and wipe each one before I ate it! I should've taken a picture of how much salt came off them , it was ridiculous! We had also ordered the shrimp and grits because we love it so much there. We both had a 1/2 of a bite of a piece of shrimp and knew something was wrong! He thought it was the quality of the shrimp and didn't eat anymore. ( this is very rare for my husband as he grew up in New England and is a huge Seafood lover! I have never seen him leave any type of Seafood untouched!). I thought the shrimp looked beautiful and the dish looked delicious like always. So I took a piece of shrimp and bit into it and unfortunately, swallowed it since I had already spit the salad dressing bite into my napkin . The shrimp felt and tasted "gel -ly". My first reaction was that it wasn't cooked all the way through, but now I think the shrimp was bad. We didn't touch another bite of the shrimp. We did eat most of the rest of the dish. ( see pic for details). I was still hungry, so I took another bite of my mahi fish sandwich . It didn't taste good at all. I ate a few more fries and went back 1 more time to the fish sandwich and said yuck and left it. I NEVER leave food on my plate at a restaurant! I was raised where we had to eat everything on our plate before we were excused from the dinner table. My dad would tell us that people were starving around the world, and our mother worked in the kitchen all day, preparing the food for us, and we needed to eat it. This unfortunately has stuck with me causing great feelings of guilt when I see people leaving a lot food on their plates! I'm also a big "foodie" ( I have a separate Instagram page dedicated just to food ) and usually only order and dine at restaurants where I know the food will be great and I always take the remainder to go! You can see once again from my pics how much of the fish sandwich was left behind as well as the whole plate of shrimp and arugula salad. I am so disappointed that we had this experience today , as this has always been a go to restaurant for us. We even pay a lot extra to upgrade the fish sandwich to grouper when they have it and live for their triple tail! Besides the bad experience with the food, today , the fact that we both immediately got the runs from it will now keep us from recommending or returning to this restaurant. I had the runs twice and feel ok now, so I'm guessing it was the shrimp since I only had a bite of it. Silver lining ~ the restaurant was cleaner than usual and I feel lucky I'm not throwing up, too! Hope Stiltsville can figure things out. They also owe me a new pair of Victoria's Secret panties !!!!
It hurts to have to write this review.
After having a very negative experience at this location, I had a meeting with the manager Dave Caplan to go over what happened, and my concerns and he told me he would rectify the situation. Recently, I went back for a cocktail during happy hour and was met with very unprofessional staff which made me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. It's a shame because I do love this restaurant. The ambiance is beautiful, it's the water. The cocktails are great. The food is subpar and way too pricey. But if I feel unwelcome or uncomfortable it's not a restaurant I would want to relax at. I also paid to attend a chef event at this restaurant and had to cancel due to having surgery the same day. I emailed Adrian about getting a refund and never heard back from him. That is very unprofessional please do better. So, unfortunately, I will not be given it. This is business my money anymore.
I went yesterday with 2 friends for the Kentucky Derby
I went yesterday with 2 friends for the Kentucky Derby Party event they sponsored and we loved it! They served a pre fixe 5 small plate menu that consisted of a delicious fish dip with homemade chips, the best tuna tartare I have ever tasted, shrimp tacos, and even a generous slice of key line pie. Bar/restaurants can be fun but not all have amazing food. That is where Stiltsville won with me! I loved my mint juleps, made with Jameson and served in a copper tin! My friend was very happy with the margaritas and my other friend sported the Walking on Stilts drink. They had racing games where you would pick a horse from a basket and whoever got the winning horse for that race, won an awesome prize! Of course will all wore our Sunday attire with derby hats. It was fun to dress up and congratulations yo the young lady who won the hat contest. We met and spoke with the owners who came by a few times to see how we were doing. It was a pleasure to meet such a lovely couple. The ambience was perfect, a mix of both young and older, but everyone was having a great time. I saved the best for last. Our server Jason! Jason was so attentive even though it was very busy. For the best service, ask for Jason!
Casual vibe and excellent fresh seafood. Fun place for friends and couples
Casual and cute place with incredible seafood and friendly, knowledgeable staff. Oh and the cocktails! Delicious and interesting options. We ordered two appetizers, conch fritters and a spicy shrimp appetizer. The star of the meal was the whole red snapper, prepared crisp-fried, as the server recommended. They actually have daily fresh fish on premises you can choose from! It's brought whole and served tableside, with the server deboning it so it's easy to manage. Fantastic! Dessert was a key lime "pie" that was nice but more a tart than a pie. Clientele was a mix of locals and tourists, all relaxed and having a good time. NOTE: The bill can get expensive.

Chris, our server, was awesome! Mad great recommendations, friendly, attentive. Doing a hell of a job. We'd come back just for that. We were there on Taco Tuesday and each one was fantastic. Also loved the smoked fish dip, the caviar deviled eggs. Next time we will get the whole fish
Great spot! Peeled shrimp and stone crab with chalk hill
Great spot! Peeled shrimp and stone crab with chalk hill Chardonnay were great. The chocolate cobbler was magic for dessert . Thank you Roberto (bartender) for a great night!
Love the fresh sea food very friendly staff.
Lol pricey but well worth. Atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Parking can be lil tricky so we walked from the motel.
Fish sandwich and fries hit the lunch spot.
Add their pickled onions, pickles and delightfully crisp fries and call it a meal. Attentive and efficient waitstaff, sea infused decor - without being tacky. There's a display of whole fish on ice to seal the mood.
A nice meal with Great Service
We had a very nice night at Stiltsville. Our Server, Reni T, was very attentive to our needs and made some nice suggestions as to the specials that evening. My companions dish was cooked perfectly but was a bit bland for his tastes. He mentioned that in passing and was immediately offered another choice, and a manger came over asking for suggestions as to what could have been improved. Really, it was just a personal preference thing. The dish was fine, prepared perfectly and presented as described, just not "Wow" for him personally. My companion chose to keep his meal but the offer was nice and appreciated. Cocktail menu offered some refreshing choices, and all was priced fairly for the area and the quality of food and service.

This was an outstanding restaurant! The menu is not extensive, but what you get will be fantastic I'm sure. Unfortunately, the picture of my fish was not good and I cannot remember the name of it, but it was delicious and melting in your mouth practically. and the coconut shrimp I've never had anything like it, which made it even better. It's a neat little place. it looks like they have outdoor seating, but we sat inside, and our service was attentive.
Horrible
As a Floridian I can say this is the worst seafood I have ever had. The fried oysters were room temperature, mushy and disgusting. The fish dip was just OK, much better in Lauderdale. Everything else including the drinks were nauseating. Would not go back. Total tourist trap.

I love this lovely, fish bar, and recommended to all my friends! They have a great happy hour menu with all their top sellers and great drink choices. I come here often, and my ultimate fave is the smoked fish dip! I can eat a few of those in one seating lol. I've never had an issue with anything that I've ordered and all items come out fresh. The staff is also really helpful in providing knowledgeable information and recommendations on food. Be back soon!
Whoever is in charge of this restaurant is like the
Whoever is in charge of this restaurant is like the Ebenezer Scrooge of food. They just don't want you to have any. We went for happy hour and were expecting small plates, but this was downright miserly. All the dishes came in prime numbers, which made for awkward sharing: five conch fritters, three deviled eggs, and the kicker of the whole thing - ONE oyster on a little slider bun. Guys, your food is delicious - charge me a little more and give me two oysters for Pete's sake! Even the dishes off the regular dinner menu were stingy. The ceviche came without chips or bread or anything to put it on, which again left me with the feeling that they just didn't want me to be full. The mango salad was tasty but adding a protein more than doubled the price! Maybe I'm just poorer and hungrier than their usual clientele? It's a shame because everything tasted great.
Excellent neighborhood restaurant
Excellent fresh fish that you can choose from the presentation tub. Friendly service, no loud music, good wine list, you can choose to be outside or inside, in short an excellent neighborhood restaurant.
Meh. Left hungry after spending $100
Spent over $100 on myself (one glass of wine in there) and left hungry. Servers were nice and the place has a cool vibe. Portions just way too small and not worthy of its TripAdvisor ranking.
Great seafood, lovely ambience
We had one night in Miami and we chose Stiltswater because we heard that the stone crab was very good here. The actual meal did not disappoint! We had a very attentive server by the name of Dennis, who recommended some items that we enjoyed very much, namely, the stone crab, the Baked oysters, the grilled octopus salad and the crab cakes. We finished with a slice of the Key Lime pie, which was nice. The only hiccup was the half hour plus wait for a refill to a coffee cup, and we were almost ready to ask to speak with Mr. Stilts or Ms. Water (only kidding). On the whole, our experience was top notch. I even ordered some of the owner’s coconut hand scrub that was provided in the powder room, from sunnysideuplifestyle.com, after leaving.
Stone Crab Claws Happy Hour!
We ate dinner here on a Thursday because of the stone crab Happy Hour price of $9/per medium claw. They were fresh and delicious. We also ordered and enjoyed the oysters, coconut shrimp and watermelon with homemade pickles. All very good. Service was outstanding as well. I we lived here we would be frequent guests!
To do !!
A must do! Off the beaten track, here you will eat quality cuisine at a reasonable price! We spent our new there and frankly we don't regret it!!
Last Minute Plans
I went in March and they were nice enough to give us a call back because they were booked. They ended up finding a space for us due to a cancellation. The food is great. We even purchased some hot sauce to go because of how great it tasted. Overall, it's has a very chatty ambience /classy atmosphere. Not to mention it was right by the hotel. Price wise it is a bit pricey especially the fish ,so beware, but it's worth it.
A real disappointment
The restaurant was recommended by our hotel concierge (in lieu of Joe’s Stone Crab), but turned out to be a real disappointment : food ordinary at best, unpleasant service, not worth the price. I do not recommend easting your money there.

That's what AT sponsorships are for - and you are only paying 25% in the first year and then less in year two and three.
I beliebe @EternalAnt36 was sponsored by @PerceptiveWash44 and is now doing $25k/mo.
You can write on the top sellers profiles (type 'Top 10' in the searchbar) and then tap request sponsorship button after you found the guy or gal like to work with!
