Not our restaurant
We have driven past this restaurant hundreds of times so we finally decided to go. First of all they have barely any drink options. We asked about cocktails and they only had very basic ones (g&t, negroni and aperol spritz) asked for rose, they do not have rose on the menu at all. Only one type of bottled beer (no draft). We decided on limonades and they weren’t very good. The soups were very salty and we love salt but this was too much. The beet app was very strong. One in our party liked the liver pate. I would not recommend the salmon it was so bizarrely prepared and slimey. The pullet wasn’t anything special and the venison was just ok. The only thing we really liked was the walnut arany. The chocolate cake thing was dry and spicy. This place is pretty and the staff was friendly and helpful which is why it got 3 stars. It was severely understaffed and we had to wait a lot to order items or refills of drinks. Super disappointing restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyReally good and unique taste, worth every penny
The food was simply really delicious with a unique taste. It was one of the best restaurants I have ever been to not just Budapest. The venison/deer steak was the best I ever had, simply delicious. The salmon was not what I expected, difficult to describe but nonetheless awesome. Plum soup was also super good. I think worth the price overall.
Be the first to ReplyGastronomic experience ruined by fast paced service
I am writing this review for the dinner I had with family members on the evening of Tuesday August 30th. I would have normally given a solid 4/5 (because food and wine were of excellent quality), had it not been the outrageously fast paced table service we had, which is definitely not a feature for a Michelin starred restaurant. I regularly attend Michelin starred restaurants (including in Budapest). It is with great unease that I have attribute a 2/5 as a review for this gastronomic experience as whole at St Andrea. We all expected it to be outstanding and unique, the quality of table service and its constancy being one of the criteria of Michelin starred restaurants. In details, this is what table members had to say about the service : - Description of meal and wines were rushed with minimal enthusiasm; - Wines served throughout the 6 services Grand Superior menu were not offered to taste by the waiters (only when I asked an extra glass of red wine); - Next service arrived before we even were able to finish the wine : I was still drinking my red wine when the pre-dessert arrived… beforehand, I did warn the waiters - politely - to wait until we all finish our wine before the next service. My instruction was observed only after I have spoken with the manager. In a nutshell, it was difficult to enjoy the beauty of the food when everything is rushed, which is a shame for a a restaurant of this standard. Last but not least, I would have given a 3/5 until when my table members informed me that other tables received a different treatment… Hence, all these reasons explain the 2/5 note I have left for the St Andrea experience in Budapest.
Be the first to ReplyThe best restaurant in Budapest
If you are looking for a restaurant with gourmet cuisine, warm hospitality and great atmosphere this is the restaurant you are looking for. No unnecessary charades of explaining just enough information about the meals, beautiful presentation with perfectly delicious plates. Everything comes with some local inspiration but completely enjoyable for international palate. The service is impeccable but without heaviness. We, family of four ate several different dishes and all of them was flawless. The ambiance is warm, with timeless interior design, you will feel perfectly comfortable. This restaurant is perfect for romantic dinner, business lunch and for those who enjoy gourmet kitchen without attitude.

We ordered the 7 course menu, and it delivered big time. I have been in Budapest more than 50 times. This is the best food paired with excellent wines. The price is very pleasent. We had an super good sommelier explaining the food and wines, and it all felt vey good. We were 6 persons and everybody was happy. Thx St.Andrea. Will definitebly come back😍

We had a wonderful last evening in Budapest at St. Andrea's. Wonderful food of the highest quality with a strong local slant matched with great wine and delightful hospitality. Also, for a restaurant that almost certainly deserves a Michelin star and will probably get one soon, the value is extraordinary. An excellent way to finish off our stay. We cannot recommend more highly

We had a memorable dinner at St. Andrea! Our server was amazing and made the whole experience amazing. He was so knowledgeable about local wines and answered all our questions, going above and beyond to bring out wine glasses to satisfy my curiosity. He was genuinely interested in our experience at the restaurant and Budapest. The food was outstanding. Each dish was memorable and an immediate fav. Ambience was perfect for a dinner for two.

Be the first to ReplyPerfect dinner in a perfect fine dining restaurant
We were satisfied with everything, the food was very delicious and spectacular, the service was quick and attentive. We can recommend the great wines of the restaurant's own winery. We'll be back again. :)

This was a beautiful experience for me and my sisters. Our waiter was wonderful and nice and made sure to tend to our needs. The food was absolutely incredible. Will definitely be returning next time I’m in Budapest.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect NYE Dining
Amazing experience on New Years Eve, the best dinner we had during a week in Budapest. The special set menu was great and included traditional Hungarian options too. Live Music. Wine is from their own Vineyard! Staff were very attentive and timely. The evening was topped off by the owner, who was coming round to each table to ensure a good meal, offer a nightcap and say farewell (may have been a NYE treat). Overall I would highly recommend if you like fine dining.
Be the first to ReplyNice restaurant in the heart of the city
We went for dinner. Nice spacious place. Their freshly backed bread is most have 😍. Their is good but definitely had better. Service or specially food took a long time to serve which made us consume a lot of bread while waiting. Full bar their wines are good. Desserts nice too

3 times we asked the staff to turn the music down so we could talk to each other. From my point of view, the food and company should be at the center of such an occasion like this and the high volume continuously disrupted our conversations.
The food was absolutely wonderful, but the experience was a bit disturb by the music.
Perfect taste, poor service
The place is beautiful, the food is perfect, but the service was very poor.
The restaurant was only 50% full, but it was too much for the chief waiter. We ordered two of the same courses, so zero complication. We had to wait quite long for the second, when it arrived it was not what we ordered.
Nobody said sorry.
We had to wait terribly long to get the food we orginally ordered.
Nobody said sorry.
The mixed up food was more expensive than what we ordered, so when the cheque came ... that was on it... Plus 30% for something we didn't order, and didn't have.
They corrected it when we pointed out the mistake.
Nobody said sorry...
