I was extremely dissatisfied with my dining experience.
After reading several reviews I expected more meal options. The food was a bit too salty. The service could have been better.
Be the first to ReplyWe booked an event this month for their private room.
Allison and Alex were absolutely phenomenal! They both were incredibly gracious, attentive, SPEEDY and informative. They went above and beyond, helped get everything we needed before the event and helped to keep it all running so smoothly! It was the most seamless experience I've ever had at a restaurant. I've traveled all over the US and not one other place has come close. This was a memorable experience, Allison is plenty resourceful and she worked so well with our florist in addition to our friends/family. Alex didn't let us forget a single item on our way out --even caught our attention when we forgot. We are so grateful to the staff.

Securing a reservation at this spot is quite challenging, even with a one-month advance booking. However, the effort is absolutely worthwhile! All the noodles are meticulously handmade in-house, cut to hair-width, allowing them to absorb the sauce perfectly. The signature egg noodles boast a delightful buttery flavor, while my personal favorite is the ragu noodle. The fresh bread and tiramisu also complemented the experience beautifully.

We went for our anniversary and a delicious dinner! We tried: - Prosciutto di Parma: we had a half order which was delicious and just enough for two people to share. - Tajarin Con Burro E Salvia: SO GOOD and thehalf order was the perfect size considering we were ordering more food. - Agnolotti: My partner really enjoyed this and we also had a half order. - Braciola Di Maiale: the best pork chop I've had in a while, loved the veggies and sauce as well. - Zuppa Inglese: this resembled something like a lemon tiramisu, the perfect refreshing end to our meal. Overall, 5/5 for wonderful service, romantic and cozy ambiance, and the delicious meal! Would definitely recommend for a nice dinner with a small party.

Nice ambience, price was fair and service was nice! John was friendly and fast! The food was delish
Be the first to ReplyThe service is excellent, detailed, and thorough.
Everyone is highly professional, giving it that extra class to the restaurant. The food is elegant, flavorful, and delicious - the smaller portions allow you to taste different dishes without being overly full. You're definitely paying for a finer dining experience so take your time here. The space is a little smaller, giving it a homier feeling so you can relax, socialize, and enjoy some fine food and wine. Note: It's expensive, so make sure you budget for a higher price point. It's also in the heart of Cap Hill, so make sure you give yourself extra buffer to find parking, if you're driving in the city.
Be the first to ReplyMy friend & I were seated at the lively bar on high stools.
A pretty server with glasses & short hair asked if we would like still or sparkling water. We said sparkling and she brought a big bottle of Italian mineral water. That felt deceptive, but whatever. We ordered an arugula salad to share and also a "large" pasta dish to share, which was $33. Server said "And what about your main course", as if it was mandatory to order more food. My pal then ordered some wine for us- I think because he felt obligated. Our food was delicious. As other reviews note, pasta portions are small. I could've easily eaten the "large" size by myself and still be hungry. I normally wouldn't bother leaving this review- the food was excellent and they should charge whatever amount- but the service was a little surprising, disappointing.
Be the first to ReplyOne of my favorite restaurants in Seattle - I just booked
One of my favorite restaurants in Seattle - I just booked another reservation for my upcoming birthday. I very much enjoy the setting/ambience. It isn't doing too much. The service has always been excellent, with a bit of an old school touch where you feel like you're having a worthwhile experience because the staff actually appreciates you (more than just for the $$ you will spend). The pasta is always fantastic and hits the spot. There are a few rotating seasonal dishes, so make sure to take advantage while they last! It may not or may not be the absolute best pasta dish in Seattle, but it is always my #1 recommended spot. It's great for date night too, but not exclusively. Just make sure you reserve your table well in advance.
Be the first to ReplySo overpriced.
The food did not meet my expectations and was so expensive for a bad meal. I did the degustation course dinner. The antipasti/appetizers were good, nice and fresh. After that, everything went downhill. For the primo, we were taken aback when our server basically told us to eat the pasta quickly or else the butter would solidify while we were talking and trying to have a good time. So quickly trying to eat it, it really was just all butter and not nice to eat with the pasta so thin. The ragu pasta was slightly better but the meat was all mush and again the pasta is thin so overall the textures were not great. The cavatelli with duck confit tasted really strange with the mostarda that was so off putting and did not compliment the dish at all. Honestly, the mushroom risotto tasted like vomit and I love mushrooms and I love risotto and this was not it...For the secondi, the fish was burnt and bland - lacking any salt or seasoning. The rabbit meatballs did not taste nice at all and the pancetta ripiena pork was so dry and congealed it was so difficult to eat. Unfortunately, it was our anniversary and probably the worst meal we've ever had for it. Would not recommend.
Be the first to ReplyTop notch northern Italian food with outstanding service.
Never disappointing! Well, maybe aside from not making a reservation on time a few times. I've had a few of their dishes but I keep coming back for the TAJARIN CON BURRO E SALVIA pasta.
Be the first to ReplyFood was very good.
From Boston with plenty of good Italian restaurants, not much choice for Italian food here but just pay the price, not cheap but what can you do, enjoy

Best pasta I've ever had! While planning my trip I was going to go to Pink door but I was reading some reviews and people said Pink Door is a great ambiance and aesthetic but Spinasse has better food, so I chose Spinasse. We made a reservation ahead of time and got seated immediately upon arrival! It was sooooo good, we got the two most popular pastas, the thinly sliced ones that have been on their menu for over 15 years. It was delicious! Both were amazing in their own way, I'm glad we got both and shared! We both got the half plate. It was sooo delicate yet the thin strands were firm. So we'll flavored! The uovo poached egg was delicious with the bread too! Lastly, we got the Brussels sprouts which were well flavored in the sauce! It all felt well balanced and delicious. The service was great too! Very cozy place.
Be the first to ReplyThe dining experience was amazing.
The pasta was being made behind the bar. Ordered Tajarin con burro e salvia, tajarin al ragu, and roasted cipollini onions. Everything was insanely delicious.

Service : 5/5Food: 3/5Ambiance: 4/5 Our server was very kind and knowledgeable, gave us a back story of the restaurant and the region of Italy represented. He gave an excellent wine recommendation, and offered fresh squeezed lemonade from the bar. Food - over hyped. We tried the full size butter sage pasta. Very butter forward and nasty after a couple bites , I sort of expected a better balance. The little sardine app was tasty, and the fresh baked bread had a nice crust to it. Dim lit ambiance with close seating for a nice date night or celebration.

We came for the tasting menu ($115/pp) where we got to try every antipasto, primo, and secondo on the menu but we were very disappointed. The only dishes we really liked were the risotto and the duck. Everything else was just okay, and I couldn't eat more than one bite of each of the pastas. Was really disappointed especially because we loved their sister restaurant Artusi so much.

food: 5service: 5+ambiance: 5 i had a lovely night at cascina spinasse, made a reservation ahead of time for 4.our waiter greeted us promptly and was so kinda and patient with us! he explained the restaurant, their menu, and even answered about a thousand of our questions. he was so kind to offer us some wine samples to see which ones we liked. i loved the dessert wine, it was sweet and tasted so good with the food.we ordered the food to share family style, and we split the the brussel sprout appetizer, 2 large size signature house made pastas (butter and sage as well as the pork and beef ragu) and also the large mushroom risotto. the entree came with a basket of the softest bread and also breadsticks. both signature pastas had their house made pastas, it was thin and such a fun shape to eat. the sauces i would say are more om the mild side, and the ragu does not use any tomatoes due to the part of italy cascina spinasse is trying to represent. the risotto was amazing, and the mushrooms and the mushroom flavors were plentiful and rich. the brussel sprouts were cooked so well and the sauce it comes with is quite pungent/salty, but so delicious especially with the lemon drizzled on top. for dessert, we got the carrot cake which was super moist and had fun carrot chip and satsuma toppings, apple cider gelato which was very spicy, and a complimentary tiramisu for a bday which was perfect in sweetness and cake to cream ratio. the restaurant itself is so cozy and would make a great special occasion spot! it is a bit on the pricey side but it's worth it! i had a lot of fun all the food we had was awesome!
Be the first to ReplyMy absolute favorite restaurant in all of Seattle! I've
My absolute favorite restaurant in all of Seattle! I've come here two birthdays in a row for dinner and both times were excellent. They provide a small treat ahead of dinner which is consistently a crostini with salted butter and a sardine. I wouldn't typically go for eating sardines but the combo is excellent! We ordered three pasta: butter and sage (full portion), ragu (half portion) and the rabbit dish (full portion). The butter and sage pasta is so thick and creamy. The ragu has a smokier meaty flavor in my opinion. Not sure if there is any sort of tomato sauce as it doesn't taste like it. The rabbit pasta was my favorite thing we ordered. The sauce is heavenly and the fresh Parmesan cheese compliments these bites of heaven well. Tip: save the slices of bread they serve so you can soak up this sauce. As for secondi, we chose the braised beef cheek. My husband said it was the most tender, mouth melting piece of beef he has ever had. The surrounding gravy and purรฉe are an excellent pair.We finished off with the chocolate mousse dessert. Out of everything, this is what we could have gone without if we had to pick. If you like macarons, you will enjoy this as its basically a giant one. Still a good dessert, just not my favorite. We had a chocolate cake last year and that dessert was fantastic.
Be the first to ReplyI have to say, this place did not live up to the hype.
First off, our server was super pushy after we told him we didn't want to drink anymore alcohol. We ordered the appetizer sampler and it was disappointing. I think we only liked one out of the four, but it was all pretty bland. Our server recommended the two most popular pastas and those were good, but definitely not the best I've had. I was excited to try authentic Italian food in Seattle, but this place was a bit of a letdown - especially for the prices! Also, I let them know that it was my birthday on the reservation and I wasn't expecting anything but the table next to us got a special dessert with candle and I felt like I just got bullied by our waiter for not ordering enough, even though our bill was almost $200 for 2 ppl lol.
Be the first to ReplyThis place is so overrated and I don't understand why it
This place is so overrated and I don't understand why it has so many good reviews. First, the ambiance is cute for date night until you look up and see all of the water leak stains on the ceiling. The food is so mediocre and boring. The first bite of the pastas were okay and then it got to be too heavy and plain to even finish the whole bowl. The waitress telling us that we should order from each section of the menu which would probably bring your bill to over $250 for two. We also ordered the kale as a side and the kale was just long strands of kale that wasn't cut to bite size portions. This was also just bland and was just steamed kale.
Be the first to ReplySpinasse is one of the best Italian places in Seattle.
Everything was delicious. The service staff was helpful and friendly. Just great all around. Party of four. Prosciutto di ParmaInsalata di Cavolo RapaUovo in Camicia : Poached egg in fontina cheese. Apparently, a winter special, this is delicious. Tajarin con burro e salvia - Fine pasta with butter and sage. Simple and delicious. Agnolotti Del Plin Di Coniglio - Braided rabbit agnolotti...superb. Secondi:Beef cheeck with celery root puree: Loved itTrout: Also great.Next time, I'm coming back for the the prix fixe "Menu Degustazione" that gets every antipasto, primo, and secondo on the menu.
