Sottocasa Reviews from The Last Year
We had a beet salad and pizza from the daily specials menu.
Both were excellent. Excellent service as we were greeted warmly by the attentive owner who is Italian. Overall, I would highly recommend a neighborhood sit down pizza joint.

This place was wonderful! Good service, great ambiance, and food was delicious. I'm a huge fan of wood-fired pizzas and they knocked it out of the park. The spot feels very charming and welcoming -- the kitchen/manager were bantering the whole time which created great energy within the space. The food came out quickly, toppings were fresh, and I love when a wood fired pizza has just enough char for that smoky flavor which they nailed. Ended the meal with a cappuccino which was done perfectly.

We had just dropped off our bags at the hotel and were hungry and came across this place. We shared the pizzas and we were not disappointed. The servers for very friendly. This spot was simple and had music playing in the background.

The last two visits at Sottocasa has left me feeling underwhelmed and disappointed. When I first discovered this place about 6 years ago, I couldn't help but rave about it. I would dine here every chance I got and introduced several friends to it. Then life happened along with the pandemic and I found myself revisiting after several years later in 2023. My friend and I detected a change in the pizza. She dined here with me on a few occasions in the past and adored the pizza. Dropped by today with someone who was trying Sottocasa for the first time. I was hoping it would be a good experience for her. The manager, withl his endearing Italian mannerisms, was friendly and hospitable towards us. We ordered 2 pizzas for sharing--Margarita and Verdure ((vegetables) along with diet Coke (the beverage of choice that complements pizza so well). The pizza, 11 inches in diameter, is definitely shareable. The imain ssue with our disappointment was the wet, soggy bottom. It wasn't acceptable or desirable. The Margarita Pizza sauce was average at best and I wasn't sure if the mozzarella cheese was fresh. Fresh mozzarella is typically white. While the vegetables on the Verdure pizza was tasty, it didn't have the wow factor and contributed to the overall soggy bottom. Sottocasa, what happened? I feel terrible to write a negative review but Ialso feel let down.

This is a super local spot; the manager is full on Italian, and really brings the energy to the service. They have some really nice outdoor seating with a good amount of heating in place, which I would highly recommend on a sunnier day. We got the Boscaiola and the Parmigiana, and both were decent. The bottom of the pizza got unfortunately soggy since they were served on solid plates, and it made for quite a mess when eating. The flavors were good though; the gorgonzola on the Boscaiola really stood out. They had chili oil which I was super excited for, but it didn't really have much flavor at all. Overall, has solid pizza, but really couldn't get past the soggy bottom. Will happily stop by if nearby, but won't be making a trek to get here!
the best valentine dinner ever.
..the music , the energy and the vibe , everything was perfect.. service was impeccable and the owner made us fee l special
After reading several reviews regarding the quality of
After reading several reviews regarding the quality of their gluten free pizza, I decided it was worth paying for a car to go, wait, and do a round trip since they don't deliver more than a few blocks. The car cost nearly as much as the pizza. On top of that, the online ordering system asks for a tip even for pickup. No problem I guess, I even gave them a tip. I arrive to their basement establishment and was completely ignored by their female co-owner. There was another woman sitting at something that looked like a bar. I'm not sure if she worked there or not, she was just staring at the co-owner as if waiting for her reaction. Finally, someone walked from the kitchen area to ask if I was there for a pickup. As for the pizza, the reviews were greatly exaggerated or just plain ignorant. I can't speak for the regular pizza. However, the gluten free pizza was some of the worst I have ever experienced. My only relief is knowing I won't suffer through this indignity again. I hope my time and money served you well.
Cute vibe, good service and great pizza.
Nice and warm in the tent out back. Prosciutto de Parma pie was spot on. I'll be back!
La migliore dannata pizza di Brokolino! Nothing else to be
La migliore dannata pizza di Brokolino! Nothing else to be said but this is the closest one can get to Napoli without going via APF or Fiumicino.

Saw people coming in to the pizzeria and was curious to try it and I'm glad I did!! I got takeout here twice and ordered the margherita and salsiccia pizza. The flavor and texture is on point and is a great Neapolitan pizza. Service is also great each time we went to pick up our order the staff was so friendly and helpful. The pizza box had perforations so you could easily store leftovers. Would love to stop by and eat in person next time as the place seems so nice.
A must try
This is the best place to go for pizza! I feel like I’m in Italy when I walk into Sottocasa. love the smoked mozzarella cheese, and if you come on the weekend you can get the Burrata, it’s amazing!
Super pizza in the heart of Harlem
On the advice of a friend of the owner Matteo, we came to look for this hidden place in Harlem We ate excellent pizza and drank delicious draft beer. Very kind staff and adequate bill.
Super approved 5 ⭐
All very good. Fresh and top quality products. We took a platter of cold cuts and cheeses, pizzas and tiramisu, all really good. Super recommended
amazing
This pizzeria serves tasty Neapolitan pizza with diverse toppings in a cozy setting. The staff is friendly, and the Ceci salad and leopard pizza are outstanding. The skilled pizzaioli ensure a clean environment, and the convenient location offers ample seating.

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Can come from a lot of places, people who don't want to get charged their cancellation fee or people who just have them and cant go.

almost all restaurants aren't affiliated with AT and I'm guessing it's mostly people wanting to not pay cancellation fees.
