There are 2 sides of the bar and they don't tell you where you're going to be seated until you get there. Unfortunately for us, along with the other half of the people who were there, got seated on the bar with NO view. We had to walk around and stand to see the view on the regular side.
Be the first to ReplyTough to give this only 3 stars.
Had high hopes. We travelled 1/2 way around the globe to London and booked our seating months in advance for this spot. The views are stunning and worth it. The food options, drink menu and overall ambiance however, were lackluster and like most tourist spots, over priced. Super noisy, staff shortages that slow down service. Operated more like a cruise. Disappointing. A place you visit once and are unlikely to return.

We were in town during Halloween & found this place pretty last minute as an option for something to do that holiday weekend. We got our tickets online, it came w a drink ticket not bad helped with the price of the ticket. Drinks we had Spoiled Apple & Blood Drive both were part of the night specials they were not bad but a bit on the sweet side. Later on switched to the Local beers, they were better. This place is pretty cool, my main reason for the high rating is the incredible views all around. Very big venue, they also have a restaurant & upstairs bar area. Nice size location, with some seating areas, it was decorated very cool for the night. Music was not bad, would love to check this place out on my next London visit we had a fun night since it was Halloween weekend.
Be the first to ReplyFirst off this place is more "sky" than "garden".
If you've been to indoor gardens the like of the "Spheres" in Seattle, you should not expect an indoor jungle here. It is more about the views, but the views are unparalleled. This place is quite popular as you might imagine, especially given that you can experience it for free (if you reserve a ticket in advance online). If not, you can always book a table at one of the restaurants on the same level as the Garden and combine it with the visit to the observation deck (be prepared to pay more for the views than the food/experience you are getting). On a cold and windy day, you can stay inside and still see most of London. Or grab a jacket and venture to the outside deck. All in all, worth a stop. Having done both the Sky Garden and the London Eye, I would say, this is a solid alternative to the latter.

We like free!! The reality is that in a city that charges for most everything, free is excellent. Even more excellent when it entails a beautiful lush garden in the sky with expansive views of the city and places to relax, sit and enjoy a drink (or even a meal). The trick here is that you have to have a reservation and you've got to be on top of it. Reservations come out three weeks in advance and they can snatched up quickly! Don't be the people who show up with high hopes of heading up only to have their dreams quickly shattered. The process to go up to the top is lengthy with security measures in place. If you're in a rush, be sure to arrive 15 minutes before your ticketing time frame so that you have enough time to explore. It honestly didn't take us long to walk around and observe, but we could have stayed longer if we wanted to grab a drink or relax. We went on a rainy day, but even through the clouds it was beautiful! Check out the time of sunset for the best chance at a great view.
Be the first to ReplyHard to get a free ticket since it is always sold out.
I recommend booking at table at larch then you get a pass to go up to tbe sky garden. It is stunning at night. They do however close the doors to tbe outdoor viewing at 6pm.

Was unable to make reservation for Sky Garden so made reservation at Darwin Brasserie. We were able to see and walk thru Sky Garden while taking the views of London. Really nice and beautiful with some photo worthy spots.
Be the first to ReplyWe tried to book an afternoon visit but was full.
Scheduled evening drinks and loved it. Danced to the band. Celebrated our engagement at the best table in London.
Be the first to ReplySky Gardens was phenomenal! We made 9:30pm reservations.
When you arrive you go through security & then head to the elevator and up to the 35th floor . The ambiance is breathtaking & it's pretty cold inside and it was also cold outside. They had live music and the decorations were Christmas. The seats had heaters on them and I loved that. Sky Garden is London's highest public garden - a vibrant social space with 360-degree views of the city's iconic skyline and the view is beautiful. We started with drinks. I ordered the Winter Spiced Espresso martini & Berry Crumble . We got cheddar bites for a food snack. They were like fried cheese chips pretty tasty. I then ordered a virgin winter warmer drink . It was basically a hot apple juice. They brought me out a Happy Birthday dessert. We went up the stairs took some pics of the Amazing view before leaving . We stayed there almost 2 hrs. I would definitely recommend this spot for the night view and vibes.
Be the first to ReplyI would have given five stars just for the views.
We were left with very bad taste by folks doing security. They didn't guide us or any one be else for anything and when we were trying to wrap up and quickly and move they pointed out mistakes on how not to wrap up. Plus the security guys were doing hidden signs and snickering as if English is not our first language. Please help investigate so that folks who like the original thought and restaurant are not driven away to other building like the shard which I have given 5 star to!

Garden is unextraordinary. Nice, but we expected more given the hype. View of the city is pretty cool. For free it was good. There is dining up there, but we did not partake, so I can't comment on its quality.Best to make reservations if you want to go up. They can have capacity issues. Even with a reservation, expect to wait a bit.

Such a great free attraction! I was excited to come across Sky Garden and glad we snagged reservations about 4 weeks in advance. The site says the accept walk-ins, but at the time of our reservation, they were only taking people with reservations due to capacity constraints, so would definitely recommend planning in advance to avoid being turned away. The process to get up to the top was smooth and well organized, with a security station prior to heading into the elevator. Views from the top were really cool! The 360 degree views were awesome and it was fun to look at the all the plants as well. We couldn't decide if we wanted daytime or nighttime views, so ended up planning it so that we had daylight, sunset, and darkness within our timeslot, and spent a bit over an hour up there. We didn't get any refreshments, but there were coffee and alcoholic beverages available, as well as seating options. The next day, on a walking tour, we learned all about the "walkie talkie" building and the Sky Garden which was interesting. We didn't make it to the Shard during this trip, but don't feel like we missed out at all. If anything, the view from Sky Garden was extra cool since we could see the Shard in the skyline.

A must stop -- and free! Highly recommend you purchase your tickets online, they get grabbed up fast so do it in advance. Waiting in line was about 5 minutes and checking in was pretty simple. The views can't be beat, even during the day I went was cloudy and gray. There's also options for dining (which I didn't partake in), and you can even reserve the space for special events. I would recommend coming on an off day (weekday) to avoid the crowds, and even catch a view of the sunset over downtown London.

Sky Garden should be on everyone's list while visiting London. It's free admission and it's highly recommended to book entry tickets in advance (i.e., up to three weeks). It's very likely that tickets will be sold out if you decide to book a few days before your planned visit. I think you can do walk-ins, but when they open in the morning.Sky Garden will give you a 360 degree views of London. You'll be able to see many famous landmarks. We came around 3:30pm to see the views in daylight and we waited to see the sunset (which was around 4pm in November). I recommend see the views during both daylight and night since it's a nice viewing experience.

A must stop for a break in the rain and a perfect view of the city. You can see all sides of London from up here and enjoy a fun cocktail or nice glass of beer or wine while you're at it. Make reservations early and give yourself time to sit down and enjoy. Fun to be here at sunset and follow up your visit at a nearby restaurant!
Be the first to ReplySkye garden is one of the free activities in London.
You will have to reserve your free tickets online before heading there. It is located on the 35th floor of a building. The floor has a lot of plants, which is how it gets the term- garden. Visitors are able to enjoy the view of London. I enjoyed my experience.
Be the first to ReplyThis place is overrated and unkind to tourists.
We came on our honeymoon and I had to make reservations one month in advance to visit on a weekday. Arrived at the door and was struggling to find the tickets, as my phone was dying and had bad connection. Gentleman at the door was unhelpful, telling us to step aside and connect to the wifi (which wasn't working). Finally found the QR code for the tickets and were allowed up. Got a couple of drinks and enjoyed the view for a few minutes. Service was mediocre. My phone was dying and we are from out of town, so we asked where we could find a plug so that I could charge it enough to call an Uber. An employee directed us towards an area outside of the restroom that had a plug. Was soon after aggressively approached by Matthew, telling us this wasn't allowed. We asked why and he couldn't provide an explanation and continued to chastise me for charging my phone. We asked to speak with his supervisor, who was equally condescending and unkind. We left and went to a local pub where we were allowed to charge the phone while enjoying drinks. I understand if this is policy, but it can be handled much more professionally. Would not recommend to friends or family visiting London.

and I had already been on the London Eye on a previous trip to London. We paid the exorbitant fee and even paid more for the souvenir photo (review: bit.ly/3SoZCup). I had considered the Shard, but that looked pricey as well. Then on Time Out London, I read about the Sky Garden at 20 Fenchurch Street, a building otherwise known as the Walkie-Talkie for reasons quite clear when you view it from a distance (photo: bit.ly/3bswBgN). Now if I was more organized, I would've pre-booked the tickets as they strongly suggest and arrived a half-hour early to mitigate the risk. However, I had the stick removed from my butt and decided to take a chance on walking in on the spur of the moment. They bifurcate their lines accordingly, and it's amusing to see the pre-book line was populated with well monied people in Bermuda shorts and the walk-in line was full of scruffy slackers about twenty years younger. Needless to say, our line was moving slower because they required us to fill out an online form to generate an e-ticket. I must say the staff was very good about all this and helped facilitate our entry. We were then stockpiled into one of two small elevators that zoom up to the 35th floor. The open space was impressive as it took up three floors with a series of 360-degree panoramic views that were outstanding due to the building's central location in the City of London. The Tower Bridge, the Shard, and the London Eye were all within optimal Instagram view. There was the obligatory restaurant and bar, but we didn't partake as we had fish & chips on our mind. The 'garden' part of the name does exist in the plants that are throughout the space, but don't expect a greenhouse. If you're a tourist in London, I strongly suggest a stop here as they handle the amount of foot traffic with great aplomb. Oh, did I mention it's free.RELATED - Exploring London? We want to thank Mustafa, Laverne, Gemma & Ta-Jah for a memorable birthday evening/ sunset. Service was terrific. All these people made it a memorable time, for our 1st visit to London. Thank you!!
Be the first to ReplyIts a 7:45pm reservation on a cloudy day.
You can't see much, suggest you come earlier. Its free to enter, make sure you book online before you come. The cocktail is expensive and not much alcohol in it( almost 0)You can enjoy as much as long you want. There are restaurants in the garden. Because always clouded, you can't get seat on a same day.

This place is busy! Reserve in advance, get there early, you will have to pass through metal detectors and show the contents of your bag, you will have to line up for the elevators and they really pack you in there, but once all of that is good you will be on your way to the top and the views are very much worth it, as is the small garden and restaurant area. Keep in mind that to go back down there is another small cue for the elevator again. I didn't order any food or drinks so I can't vouch for those but the views are spectacular! Not my favourite free rooftop in London but a really good one nonetheless.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing views.
Perfect spot to hang out on couches, have food and drinks, and enjoy stellar views of the city. Is a much better experience when the balcony is open so make sure to check if it is open
