Not that good
I was expecting perhaps a bit more however I was disappointed by this place… food is good, atmosphere is a bit uncomfortable… I got 2 starters fish.. one with mussels and clams.. some of the mussels seemed to be off… Second I had plate of pasta I’m with fish… it was ok nothing WOW… My husband ordered the parmigiana which was good and pasta with crab which was bland… I had a taste of it and he was not mistaken… the flavour was overpowered by the saffron… which was a bit sickening… The service could be better… we ended up filing our own glasses… All in all… it wasn’t that good… I will pass for the next time… At least I have tried
Be the first to ReplyOne of the best Italian restaurants in London
My friend and I decided to stop by during our walk and have lunch, without expecting anything special, but the food turned out to be amazing. My seafood risotto was so delicious it nearly made me cry.
Be the first to ReplyLovely food
I visited a few times and the food has always been fantastic. Scallops are my favourite dish. I have visited a few Italian restaurants in London but this is the best

We had a really delicious meal . I had Halibut that was perfectly cooked with a lobster sauce and Tiramisu ! It was a birthday celebration with friends and the service was very professional as usual ! Thoroughly recommend always excellent

Be the first to ReplyPleasant Italian restaurant
It is an ok place. In my opinion, it is very pricey. Th3 food is decent. We had spaghetti and meatballs, but my favorite part of the meak was the starter bread or bruschettas. A downside was that it was very crowded. Good thing we had a reservation. It gives an authentic Italian feel from decor to services
Be the first to ReplyThe best arancini I have ever eaten
This restaurant is tucked away on a quiet street near Harrods, the perfect lunch spot during a busy day of shopping. The restaurant has to be commended on its quick service and attentive staff and they served the best truffle arancini I have ever eaten! I deducted one point for the over crowded seating in the dining area but still highly recommend a visit if you are after authentic Italian dining.
Be the first to ReplyA well known Bella Knightsbridge Gem - providing fine cuisine and a mind boggling wine list!
We wanted to make eating here a great eating experience and Signor Sassi did not disappoint at all. The waiting staff we busy and efficient as the restaurant was full, however the Italian flamboyance stood out and that was wonderful. It seems to me that only Italian restaurants get fish right and their meals for me were a wonder. The lobster ‘cocktail’ was divine following by a shell fruits de mer, I would pick out particularly the scallops As being perfectly perfectly cooked and presented. Oh, and the Chianti poached pear was for me the crowning glory. At Signor Sassi, they do not skimp on portions and on presented to your table you are welcomed immediately with olives and Italian cheese. I’m embarrassed to admit that I do not know my Italian regions and wines half as much as o should, but the Saint Helene Sauvignon Blanc held just the right acidity and freshness to balance all our meals. So thank Signor Sassi you for the Sommelier notes. I would say that the restaurant was busy, and we left more hurriedly than we should because the new table of arriving ill mannered and unclothed persons cleared the room of at least two tables (ours being one). Other table guest similarly did not look happy. Nevertheless we shall return for more exquisite cuisine and to work through the extensive wine list!

In a quiet alley opposite Harrods great location!! Great service clean restaurant, food was delicious. Not expensive considering the location .I will definitely go there again. Olives, bread, 2x main courses a bottles of sparkling water £55 including service charge.
Be the first to ReplyNever going back again
I have visited Signor Sassi but I will never go back. The service was very slow and the staff are rude and arrogant with no respect for customer including the manager.
Be the first to ReplyAVOID
Me and my family used to call sassi our favourite restaurant not anymore with great regret I have watched to decline in the last year or so we waited nearly an hour last night for our food the style and look also flavour of dishes have completely changed as if a chef who knows nothing about Italian cuisine Avoid very disappointed will never visit again after 25 years of patronage McDonald’s would be more reliable
Be the first to ReplyBrilliant

Be the first to ReplyWOW!
Wow. Incredible food and service. We went as a large group and the service was great and food was even better. The quality was just amazing and I would have happily eaten anything ordered by anyone on our table as if all just looked so good. The atmosphere in the restaurant is great, everything you could want from an Italian and I will definitely be visiting again.

Be the first to ReplyAverage Italian
We were super excited to visit Signor Sassi since we have been hearing about it for a while. I guess we went there with very high expectations but honestly it was an ordinary Italian restaurant but with very high prices :( I have been to much better quality ones in London with either similar price level or cheaper. Service was good, our waiter was very kind, friendly, but the food was average and thats why I rated 3
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Lunch
I had not been for a while.Am pleased to say that the food and service were excellent and enjoyed great afternoon with my friends.
Be the first to ReplyOkay - but shell in my crab tortellini
The food was good, small portions but nice. Was 4 of us and 2 bottles of wine which came to £90 each. My crab tortellini was nice but had 3 big bits of shell which for the price i didn’t expect
Be the first to ReplyNot the same - rude staff and average food we won’t be returning!
We have been coming to Signor Sassi’s for many years, we have always been very excited to visit as it is usually a great experience, however this was not what we experienced in previous times. We arrived around 4pm to a restaurant which was half empty and told by a very rude, abrupt female host that it was now reservation only, we could see how empty the restaurant was so we left the restaurant and booked a table online literally whilst standing outside the door and walked immediately back in to be greeted by the same host - who clearly didn’t recognize us from 3-4 minutes before, asked the same question and reluctantly seated us after 10 minutes. The staff now seem to have a arrogance about them, chanting and shouting whilst this has felt all part of the fun before this visit it seemed to have a totally different feel, we were grunted at by waiters and not made to feel welcome at all, the food was served to us without anybody asking if we needed another drink, parmesan, pepper etc and it wasn’t as we remember it, quite average for the price point when comparing to other Italians in London, we won’t be returning sadly!
Be the first to ReplyWonderful food and beautiful setting
I loved it here! Came for a birthday dinner with family. Was shown to a private room upstairs, which gave us lots of space (8 of us), but lacked atmosphere without any music or other diners. Food itself was delicious, vast menu with great range of options. Extensive drinks list too! Waiters were friendly and attentive (a little rushed though). Definitely a great spot for a romantic date or family gathering!
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced on all counts
Visited as a party of four. Food was very mediocre and vastly overpriced, service was poor and timings of food to table was unacceptable. Would avoid at all cost. No service yet service charge included as standard. Disappointed
Be the first to ReplyTerrible decline - such a shame
I have been going to SS for many years now - probably 50+ visits both with work (being based in the city going to Knightsbridge was a change for clients and colleagues) and also with family. Throughout the years SS has been the family favourite for birthdays etc. The children loved going up to the "west end". We went there (a party of 10) for my wife's 50th in May and the service had deteriorated and the food was nothing to write home about. When my son was asked where did he want to go to celebrate his 19th birthday he of course chose SS. We duly arrived at 8pm on the day and the waiter (senior as he was in a suit) couldnt have shown less interest when taking our order. I really felt as if i had inconvenienced him by daring to turn up. That should have rung alarm bells - they got my wife and son's drink order wrong. My starter (smoked salmon) must have been plated up for ages as the salmon was drying at the edges and had actually properly stuck to the plate. My steak (ordered rare) was at best medium and my wife's dish didnt arrive at all. Raising this with another waiter it was clear the original person simply hadn't recorded her order. From our table i could see the order station and the waiter looking for her order so i am 100% sure it simply hadnt been put through. She insisted we ate ours and her carbonara arrived just as we finished. No apologies. The carbonara - a signature Italian dish was dreadful. It had no cheese taste at all and simply resembled a béchamel sauce with some bacon lardons. No apologies or anything. Bill was £291 for 3 people. I have spent £0000s here over the years but the last two visits will be my last ever. The staff, once one of the highlights, are arrogant and utterly disinterested in the customers. The food itself has deteriorated to a level where even i could do better. On getting home i was so disappointed i looked on Tripadvisor to see if my last two experiences were unusual. It appears not! Such a shame and given the price a complete rip off. Unless you are a tourist wanting to go to a destination place in Knightsbridge and/or are not really interested in good food then i suggest you avoid it.
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced, arrogant and underwhelming
Let me start off by saying that the restaurant looks beautiful with lovely flowers and waiters in their starched white tunics. However when you scratch beneath the veneer the reality becomes more apparent
I appreciate the restaurant is in Knightsbridge but I felt as if I was taken for a fool. The £10 cover charge per person, including kids, on top of a 12.5% service charge left an unwelcome taste at the end of the meal. Whilst the simple pasta dishes were perfectly acceptable, at these prices I would have expected more, much more. Similarly the service was brusque and arrogant and made me feel uncomfortable, and I rarely feel uncomfortable in any setting.
The pancake desert however was on a different level. Old, cold and dry pancake with what tasted like store bought custard filling, cardboard and custard was disgusting
Please don’t get me wrong I absolutely don’t mind paying top dollar if one gets top quality but this just wasn’t the case at Mr Sassi, I just felt ripped off!
Awesome Dinner with family
It was a grand evening where we enjoyed our dinner with family and friends. We were provided with an entire floor with a bar with excellent service & arrangements and authentic delicious dishes.
Be the first to ReplyA-M-A-Z-I-N-G Italian Food!
I highly recommend Signor Sassi for a genuine Italian experience. The staff could not have been nicer. The food quality, presentation and taste were SUPERB! Absolutely loved everything and felt like I was in Italy the evening of our dinner.
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced and unfriendly service
Ate at this restaurant recently, after a shopping trip in Knightsbridge with my daughter.
The restaurant looks nice, inside and outside.
My daughter had previously eaten here with a friend, a few months before and so was aware, that when the waiters bring you what you think is complimentary olives and bread, they actually charge you for them, even though you haven’t ordered them.
So, when our waiter brought olives and bread to our table, we said ‘no thank you, we don’t want it, we didn’t order them’ He persisted in putting them on the table, as if they were complimentary... but we refused again and he took them away, looking astonished that we didn’t want them.
Our food was just ‘ok’. ... we both had pasta dishes which didn’t have much else in them, other than pasta and sauce!! Very overpriced for menu, for what it is.
When we asked for the bill, the waiter brought it to the table and then rather than leave it with us for a short while, for us to check it, he just stood there waiting for immediate payment, which we felt was rather rude and not usual practice in a restaurant. I paid the bill by card ..... it had 12.5% service already added to it.
After I had paid, my daughter looked closer at the bill, to see what her share of the cost was and she noticed that the first item on the bill was a ‘£4 Cover Charge’
We didn’t know what this was for, so we called another waiter over, to ask him ..... he rather brusquely said, it was for the olives and bread. We stated that we hadn’t had any olives and bread and then he added it was for the jug of tap water we’d had!! We were absolutely astounded, especially as his manner was very rude .... unapologetically he returned to our table with £4 in coins, which he just gave me without any word to me.
I am absolutely sure, that a lot of customers won’t have even noticed this charge on their bill, and will think that the olives and bread they were given, were complimentary. Obviously this is standard practice in this restaurant, to add this cover charge to every bill.
It is bad practice to operate a restaurant like this. If it wasn’t for the constant stream of tourists to this restaurant, I feel sure it would have ‘gone out of business’ a long time ago.
We begrudged paying the service charge as it certainly was not pleasant service from the staff.
