Porcupine Creek Sensei
Overall, a fabulous trip! Beautiful grounds, 5 star service and accommodations. Nobu was incredible as well. Thank you for a memorable time!
Be the first to ReplySensei Porcupine Creek is a wonderful experience
I would highly recommend Sensei Porcupine Creek to everyone as a first class experience for a relaxing getaway. The golf course is one on a kind and the accommodations and food are the best we have experienced in a long time.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful upscale resort but limited services
The grounds, including the villa we stayed in, are beautiful and immaculate. The restaurant is above average and in an enjoyable setting. The onsite staff were all friendly, welcoming, responsive, and courteous. However, this property would be much better off not to hold itself out as a wellness resort. Sensei has received ample negative feedback at both properties in regard to how completely disorganized and unprofessional the pre-arrival and scheduling process is. The spa, fitness, and wellness staff are relatively inexperienced and the “wellness” services cannot compete at this price point. As noted in other reviews and by other word-of-mouth, appointments and classes are very hard to come by. Also, the regular rooms would be a major disappointment. Our villa was wonderful and I would only return to stay in a villa. For a golf or tennis stay, or just to stay in the prettiest resort in the Palm Springs area, it is worth it. But it is not worth its price point as a fitness or wellness destination. It would be great if there was a place in the US that offered the high quality and expansive fitness and wellness services of a place like Miraval, Mii Amo, Ranch at Malibu, or Canyon Ranch combined with the high end, modern, beautiful accommodations of Sensei.

This place is AMAZING! Every little detail is thought through. The grounds are stunning and the casitas are over the top. All that being said, the staff is what really makes this place extra special. Michael, Oscar, Abram, Drum, Jay, and Per are standouts but there isn't a person on the property that won't go out of their way to accommodate you. Chef Matsuhisa is a food genius and sitting at the Sushi Bar watching him and his team prepare the exquisite Nobu dishes was a real treat. We were there four days and three nights with plans to visit the town of Palm Springs but we ended up never leaving the property!
Be the first to ReplyAmazing experience! Expensive and worth every penny.
My wife and I travel a lot and this place is in our top 3, along with the Green O and the Mayakoba Rosewood. Maybe even #1. The grounds and golf course are simply stunning. Eating down the hall at NOBU every night isn't bad either. Mattress was a little hard but they swapped it out by the next night. Great service everywhere!

You simply cannot imagine a more serene, restful and rejuvenating retreat. Picture a magnificent, precisely-manicured 220-acres liberally dotted with (among others) Keith Harring and Jaime Plensa sculptures, a warm, friendly, well-trained team that seems to always say "yes" to your every request, superb spa treatments and growth and fitness classes, scrumptious Nobu cuisine (so good that there is no reason to ever leave the premises), professional quality tennis facility (including a well-tended clay court) and a stunning golf course that customarily sees only 2 to 4 golfers a day. Imagine having all of this available only to you and the 50 to 60+ other guests on site on a given day. Fitness classes are small (3 of my tennis "classes" ended up being private) and other fitness classes had no more than 1 or 3 additional attendees. All of our instructors were outstanding. Sensei is peaceful, quiet and exhilarating all at once. We will definitely be back!
Be the first to ReplyWonderful Luxury Resort
We spent four days at Sensei as a married couple, and we had an amazing time. The resort offers a great active experience, which for us consisted of tennis classes, strength training, great hikes and walks on premises, massages, and some random moments, like a yoga class (well done, but not our style) and some swims. Everything at the resort is top notch. The bathrooms have incredibly high-end components, the restaurant's food quality is off the charts, and the people ... the Sensei team is warm and gracious and helpful, every single person. This is a great place for a couple that might be looking for a romantic getaway that at the same time includes healthy living (good exercise classes, tennis, and so on) and also pure indulgence (dinner at Nobu), all in a setting where you might know that there are other guests, but you really feel wonderfully spaced apart, unless you want to interact (as we did, for instance, over tennis). Overall, it's a little pricey, but you will feel the difference between "nice" and "wow" luxury. We'll definitely be back and feel lucky to have found this gem.

What a special place! Golfers, put this one on your bucket list! My husband and I treated ourselves to a stay at Sensei Porcupine Creek for four nights before joining friends on a cycling holiday in the Ojai Valley. It was unlike any resort that we have ever stayed at. The highlights for us were the golf and the hiking. The pristine 18-hole golf course may be the prettiest that we have ever played with the surrounding mountains, gorgeous fairways and brilliant bougainvillea. Only a handful of golfers play each day, making us feel like we had the course to ourselves. The attentive staff did everything possible to make us feel at home, including having our lunches delivered to us on the course. We delighted in eating our picnic lunch at the highest point on the course with incredible views of the remarkable 15th hole. With the next group hours behind us, we could take our time and enjoy every moment on the course. We had much needed massages, twice, and greatly enjoyed the excellent treatments. The food at Nobu, the resort restaurant, was phenomenal- we loved every bite! We truly enjoyed our evening at the Sushi Bar chatting with the chefs. The shiitake mushroom salad, black cod miso and my morning fruit, yoghurt and granola breakfast were my most memorable bites. I always love a hotel with an awesome hike close-by and this place did not disappoint! Taking advantage of the cool mornings, we headed up the hiking trail after breakfast and hiked to our heart’s content. On our final morning we hiked to the peak of the hotel’s trail, went over a fallen fence and reached the summit of a local hike called The Bump and Grind. We made our way down the trail and took an offshoot to a road near the hotel. The 5 1/2 km loop had heart pounding climbs and plenty of Instagram moments. Our only disappointment was with our first room, where the patio door/ window opened to a common patio. We had been hoping for privacy and the opportunity to keep our curtains open to enjoy the views. The surprisingly small bathroom was not what we expected with the price we were paying. We were able to move to a better room that met our needs for our final two nights. Both rooms were extremely comfortable and beautifully decorated. Overall, we loved our stay at Sensei Porcupine Creek. Thank you to all of the staff who made us feel so welcome.

Richard and Barrett provided this high handicapper a level of service and instruction that must be experienced to be believed. The course is gorgeous and perfectly maintained, the mountain backdrop is stunning and typically no more than 6 players the entire day. The fitness assessments and sessions were well done and challenging but doable and wellness aspects were first rate and well integrated into the overall goals. Chef Taka's Omakase sushi is the best any of our well traveled group of foodies ever had. We will return.

Looking for a peaceful Thanksgiving alternative we chose the newly opened Sensei Porcupine creek. About a month before our visit we were contacted by the pre-arrival team who helped orchestrate our classes, exercise and meal times. On arrival a brief tour of the main estate house was filled with beauty, gardens, artwork and peacefulness. Over our four days stay ,we experienced different types of meditation, hiking, classes including wall yoga, strengthening, and balance work As well as the tennis shot of the day. We chose to not leave the grounds of the retreat which enhanced our experience. We had a lovely lunch at the golf pavilion and Nobu meals explored tastebuds I didn't know I had. Of course there was rest and massages. Just an outstanding experience that accomplished the retreats purpose of move, nourish, rest. Truly authentic experience.

My week at Sensie Porcupine Creek was the experience of a lifetime. The grounds are impeccably maintained and truly stunning. The wellness experiences were exceptional - daily yoga, relaxing massages, grounding meditation and professional tennis coaching. Every meal was a culinary delight. I can't wait for my next sojourn at this sublime resort.

The property is beautiful. The amenities are first class. Everything was so quiet and relaxing and having the golf carts available was such a treat. Having Nobu every night is so indulgent, we felt like a royalty! All great things to say about this location!

Wow!!! Hard to put it in words. This place is truly amazing from pre arrival to departure. A beautiful oasis nestled in a tranquil lush garden setting. The property is gorgeous!!! The staff are impeccable, the programming is very well done, from the dedicated guide, to spa, tennis, fitness, food and cozy, calming setting of the room. I felt rejuvenated and ready to face the world again. Sensei, I will be back very soon.
Be the first to ReplyAn Oasis of Wellbeing in the Desert
Sensei Porcupine Creek is truly an oasis of wellbeing in Rancho Mirage (Palm Springs area). The grounds are breathtaking and the secluded location provides an exceptional venue conducive to personal reflection, relaxation and renewal. The ambiance is that of a private estate; the accommodations are both generous and elegant; and the staff could not be more attentive. Spa services and wellness programming were also exceptional...bested only by the masterful creations of the chefs of Nobu. Can't wait to return!
Be the first to ReplyMust Visit! This is a special property for any wellness lover!
Sensei Porcupine Creek is an incredible new property for anyone looking for a high end wellness experience! The property felt like an oasis and has so many things to do - like on-site classes, tennis and golf, spa treatments, private sessions and more - all of which I loved! The facial is a must, as are the 1:1 sessions with the Guides. I tried almost everything on the breakfast and dinner menus at Sensei by Nobu and thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Can't recommend this place enough - great for solo travel to dive into wellness, but also for couples or friend getaways!
Be the first to ReplyWhat a STUNNING property with world class service
My boyfriend and I visited Sensei Porcupine Creek during their opening. The resort is hidden behind a gate and opens up to an unbelievable landscape. The rooms are well appointed with top end finishes, very minimalistic but high end classic. We did Yoga classes in the morning, relaxed by the pool (all chairs are spread out and has its own privacy for couples), had amazing massage sessions. The Golf Course is only open to in house guests. It was beyond belief. My boyfriend is an avid golfer. He would come here to stay just to be able to play. It felt like a sanctuary, a Mirage in the middle of desert. Restaurant was by Chef Nobu. I've always loved Nobu. We had Omakase. It was world class. The service was elegant, subtle, but spot on. Breakfast we had some amazing toasts (I forgot what it is called but I still dream of it to this day). It's truly a place like no other. Not a cookie cutter luxury resort. It reminded me of AMAN, Six Senses with warmth. The staff felt like family. You see them throughout the property and they know our names.
