Delicious food and cocktails
I've been here many times with friends and this was the first family visit for son's birthday. Delicious food packed with flavour. Tuna tacos, pork belly tacos, soft shell crab tacos, Seabass, short rib beef, lamb cutlets all amazing. Guacamole very good. Excellent margaritas. Great selection of tequila/mescal. Only criticism is that the portions of salsa are minuscule. Seems penny pinching in the grand scheme of things.
Be the first to ReplyFresh zingy Mexican food and excellent cocktails
I’ve been to this restaurant several times and it’s always great. The service is attentive and friendly, the vibe and ambiance is cosy and buzzy. The food is delicious, however this time we had the pre-theatre menu which was a little disappointing. The portions are quite small for the price and the vegetable tostadas lacked flavour. The cocktails here are all amazing. Be careful though, they go down easily 😉 Recommended.
Be the first to ReplyTiny portions !!!!
Just had one of the worst Mexican meals ever I don’t think they could have made the portions any smaller !!! Soft shell taco !!! Are you joking me ? The taco was so small I thought it was a starter ! Salsa was in an egg cup I kid you not !!! Get a grip here and serve some decent portions and some decent food . Tasted bland as well
Be the first to ReplyLovely food
I visited here with friends and it was lovely, really friendly staff and great cocktails. I haven’t given it 5 stars as the price doesn’t seem fair given the portion sizes
Be the first to ReplyTerrific lunch
Great! Delicious food, friendly but not pushy service, not noisy. Queso fresco, soft shell crab, lamb chops, short rib all recommended. Margarita of the day was guava and lovely
Be the first to ReplyNot worth the hype
A few work colleagues talked this place up, so was excited to get a booking. The ambience, staff, presentation of the meals amazing. The food itself meh! Absolutely not worth the extortionate prices for the extremely small portions. I love fine dining, this was not it. This was a comfy restaurant out of the rain if you are hungry and just need something to tide you over. I was actually very disappointed. The food lacked strong and bold flavours andddd they put chickpea in their lamb! We were also cheekily charged for hotsauce which I found unreasonable as the dish was so bland. To sum up, if you are interested in ambience and an closeby place to the office yes, if you are interested in flavour and taste and value for money, it is a hard no! Thanks
Be the first to ReplyGreat little restaurant, convenient for London Bridge
We've visited this restaurant four times over the last couple of years and have always really enjoyed the food and drink - the tuna tostadas and house margaritas being particular highlights. I like the cosy, buzzy atmosphere, the eclectic wallpaper and artwork and its convenience for London Bridge station. Re the two reviews below, at our last visit (3rd Feb) a service charge was added to the bill but, when presented with the card machine, I was not asked to add a further amount. Perhaps the owners have been reading Tripadvisor!
Be the first to ReplyStealth Charge
I wish I’d read the previous review before going. I met a friend there for a catch up, I can’t fault the food or the spicy Marg. Our server was a nice upbeat lady. It’s just really awkward when you see the bill with the service charge on then get presented with pre defined tip amounts. I queried with the server and she said I don’t get the service so that made me feel even more awkward because she was nice I tipped 10% (lowest pre option available). It was all abit weird and it wasn’t until after I wished I said we’ll take the service charge off. Just leaves a bad feeling of being stealth charged.
Be the first to ReplyExamine your Bill.
Food was ok if dishes a little on the small side. Included in the bill as normal the bill was a Service Charge of 12.8% which was fine. However, when we came to pay on the card, the machine asked would we like to leave a tip and then listed different percentages. We asked was the Service Charge not included already? The Server said the Service Charge was their pay and the additional tip was their tip. We pressed decline a tip. As we could have ended up paying a Service charge of 22.8% as a minimum. This is sharp practice in my view. Surely the Staff pay is costed in the menu prices so customers are not unknowingly charged a service charge twice. We will not be returning. We ate more high end restaurants with better food over the weekend and not one tried this.
Be the first to ReplyCheck the amount carefully if you pay contactless!
For the New Year's Eve evening, everything went well in terms of the welcome, very good food, DJ service, ... until the moment of paying the bill or the person in charge of collecting to bring a bill multiplied by 3, then a second one just but maliciously made me pay contactless for £178 more instead of the £24. In short, a great scam, I'm still waiting for the reimbursement that they supposedly gave me. Watch what you pay for!
Be the first to ReplyTasty food in a cute restaurant
We ate here a few nights ago, the service was very good. Efficient and friendly. We had guacamole to start, and fish tacos. Both were tasty and fresh. The fish tacos could have had more sauce, but weren’t bad. We then shared the short rib make your own which was delicious. The charred sweet potato and cheese was excellent with the tender, falling apart meat. Paired with sangria it was an excellent meal.
Be the first to ReplySanto Remedio stole €136 from my bank acount
I think this is my first review of a restaurant and I didn't even get to eat there. I booked this for a party of 6 last Saturday. One week before my reservation I had to cancel due to a change of plan with my party. I notified the restaurant one week before via email and through their cancellation link. They emailed me back right away and said this was fine etc. A few days later I was browsing through my bank account and noticed this restaurant had taken €136 from my account. I emailed them and called them and neither got a reply. After ringing and ringing 10+ times, they eventually answered I was told they were 'really busy' and would 'get around to it in 2 to 3 business days'. When I said that wasn't good enough, they had essentially stolen my money, they hung up on me. The other day I received my first reply from them asking 'Had I received the refund I was expecting?' I replied saying I had not and it is now one week later and I have heard nothing further from them. I understand that sometimes mistakes can happen and I want to give them the benefit of the doubt that taking this money from my account wasn't intentional. That being said I have yet to receive any apology or explanation and feel I have no alternative but to leave this negative review for a restaurant I haven't even eaten at. I am so disappointed with Santo Remedio and how their staff have dealt with my unfortunate situation and cannot recommend this restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyGreat for a non-vegan, the vegan options were so-so
This spot has got a great vibe and authentic options. My partner who is not a vegan got the barbacoa tacos and rated the food 10/10. However, as a vegan, I ordered the hibiscus enchilada and noticed that the crema and cheese elements had not been replaced by vegan alternatives (for instance a cashew crema) and therefore the dish as a whole was a bit unbalanced and on the sour/salty side. The individual elements were quite good. Also, it would have been wonderful to see a vegan dessert option! :) All in all, would go back for the vibe and to try out the other vegan options, and because my non-vegan partner loved it.

Mind blowing food and tasty cocktails. This place got such amazing vibe and friendly service that goes extra mile. Definitely coming back and recommending to everyone
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, lovely personal service.
My first visit, recommended by friends, we thought it was great. Service was friendly and efficient, the food was delicious and well presented. Lovely round table upstairs, good atmosphere, hard to fault. The team there were professional and very informative. We will be back, thanks.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing authentic tacos
The tacos here are amazing - it’s clear they are homemade! Our favourites were the tuna tostada, pork belly tacos and fish tacos. The drinks are also fabulous - we recommend the sangria, michealada, and mezcal sour. We would definitely go back!
Be the first to ReplyService needs improvement, food is divine
The food was amazing, except the enchiladas- all you could taste was tomato sauce. The service needs to be addressed. We refused to pay service as the waitress [name eedactd] was awful. The hostess have us better service than our designated waitress.
Be the first to ReplyVery tasty and refined Mexican food.
The quesadillas were extremely delicious, the taco's were refines and super tasty. The cocktails were good and the people serving very friendly. This place was simply good!
Be the first to ReplyGreat margaritas, poor food
Was really excited to visit here after hearing positive things but it was a big disappointment. The pork tacos were dry and lacking flavour, the tuna tostadas didn't taste very fresh and the sea bass was mushy. And to top it all off it's incredibly over-priced - an eye-watering bill for only a few dishes. Not worth the quality at all. The only saving grace were the peach margarita's which were spot on.
Be the first to ReplyGood, but limited
I am writing this with an American perspective, so take it with a grain of salt. We selected this restaurant because it was touted as "the best Mexican food in London." Now, I recognize that every country has its own take on food from other countries (we should know that Mexican in the US isn't the same as in Mexico, just as the food we get at Chinese restaurants isn't the same as if we were to travel to Beijing), however, the limitations of the menu were striking. There were no options for beef or chicken tacos; just fish, lamb or pork. That said, the fish tacos were delicious, but it was harder to find something our kids would eat. It was late on our travel day, and they were not up for being adventurous (ages 8 & 11).
Ambiance was good, but it was rather loud (this was the case absolutely everywhere we ate in London, so I don't see this as an outlier or anything). It certainly wasn't the best Mexican I have ever had, but it also wasn't the worst.
Lovely night with incredible food
Went to Santo Remedio this weekend (Saturday evening). The staff booked us in for 8.45pm, but were very accommodating to move our booking an hour early as our previous engagement finished early. We enjoyed a couple of drinks (Mexican beer and homemade tepache) while we waited.
When seated, we ordered a mixture of vegetarian tostadas, as well as the hibiscus enchilada. These 3 dishes were complemented by some salsa totopos, some baby potato flautas and a side of black beans with avocado leaf. Amazing flavours, and the enchilada was really quite lovely and like nothing we had ever tasted before. We were stuffed and paid around £60 between the two of us.
Very good, accommodating service, and we were made to feel very comfortable. Would definitely recommend a trip, and will be going back again!
Disappointing
The staff were excellent, very friendly and made sure we got the quietest table we could which I’d requested. Unfortunately the food was not very good. My tuna tacos were fine, but my friend had to send his pork belly tacos back twice because they were cold. In the end he gave up and stuck to vegetable tacos. The staff were very apologetic and they took it off the bill. Overall I think it’s very expensive for the quality of what you get, even though they were very attentive in making sure the bottomless drinks kept coming. So good staff and decor but we won’t be coming back due to the quality of the food.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent hole in the wall!
Love this place. A true “hole in the wall“. A very helpful staff, basically indoor/outdoor seating, so lots of fresh air. All kinds of excellent beers, and very inexpensive. And they typically play American music.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food and great service
We have been to Santo Remedio London Bridge many times. It was our first time in Shoreditch. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is lovely and the service is great. The team is very friendly and helpful. The place is also dog friendly. We’ll definitely come back. Thank you, guys!!!!
Be the first to ReplyBrunch Good Dissipating service
I’ll start the review fairly by saying the bottomless brunch was great fast service for the drinks and the food was delicious but extremely disappointed with the how our reservation was treated. I booked two months in advance as We were coming in a big party for my birthday with 16 of us and understood with a small restaurant this might be hard to accommodate.
On the website it said Max tables of 6 on a Saturday so I emailed and asked if it was possible have a bigger table and they told me maximum of 6 on weekends which is fair enough, so booked two tables of 6 and a 4 and mentioned in the booking we’re a group so can we be seated together. Not only did they seat us on separate floor as we sat down there was a table of 12 behind us?!?! Not sure why we couldn’t be sat even on the same floor after booking a month in advance but a group was able to book a table of 12.
