I've dined here a few times.
Their breakfast items are fine, but I wanted a burger for lunch. The burger is $19 and doesn't come with fries ($7 extra). I got a $15 cheeseburger and fries special and it was pretty mediocre. Not bad, but not very good either. The pricing is way too high for the quality of food. There are much better places to eat at for lower cost. I don't think I'll go back. Serviced and ambience were fine, the food is just way overpriced for the quality you get.
Be the first to ReplyUnique brunch spot in OTR with a variety of fusion dishes.
The fried pork rinds are a great appetizer. Their matzo ball soup was warm and cozy. Their lemon ricotta pans cake was very moist. Great service, it was fun sitting at the kitchen bar seeing the action.
Be the first to ReplyGreat recommendations from staff.
Not too busy for an early dinner date, amazing food. Boozy root beer floats hit just right.
Be the first to ReplyFood was lovely.
Nice selection of coffee/teas. Servers were extremely nice. I ate the cheesy eggs with toast. The portion large enough to share. Others in my group had the goetta breakfast, which they enjoyed.

Such variety and tasty. Service is great. A brunch group fav!
Be the first to ReplySolid Brunch at Scared Beast on a Saturday morning.
Happy we made reservations at 10:30 as when we left at 12:30 this place was PACKED! I opted for the Pomme Nojito drink - it was very flavorful and they used a lot of mint which was great. My friends had bloody Mary's, mimosas and champagne and all of them liked their beverages. All the coup glasses were very cute. For my meal I had the Fried Goat Cheese Salad and added Chicken. This was unique and full of fun ingredients - a nice surprise vs. salads you often see on the menu at other places. The only reason for 4 stars is due to our server, when he came to take drink orders at 10:30 he only took 2 orders of the 3 of us physically sitting there. He totally ignored our 3rd person and I had to call him back after to take her order. Overall great location in OTR and unique menu - I will be back but hope for better service next time!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food and service.
A great location that is easy to get to and great to poke around before or after.

The food here was amazing! I got the Dirty French Burger and I absolutely loved it. It was a bit pricey for the fact that sides were separate but I would go again, it's just not a weekly visit type place to me!
Be the first to ReplyWent on a Sunday afternoon and it was busy.
However we were seated within a short amount of time. They have a full bar available also. We ordered the Dirty French hamburger and the gnocchi. Both were good the gravy on the hamburger was a little over salted- but other wise very good flavor. Prices are moderate and service was efficient.
Be the first to ReplyStill a solid "go to" spot for us several years later.
We had a fantastic dinner this past Saturday night. Even the light eaters polished off their plates. Great cocktails too. We devoured it all: the Dirty French burger, Goetta breakfast, Lemon Ricotta pancakes, and the Cheeseburger.

Come here all the time. It's always hustling and bustling which makes it so fun. The food is fantastic as well as the service. Highly recommend the dirty French if you like burgers.
Be the first to ReplyFood was very good but I will say a little over priced.
Risotto balls for the table were great and very crispy which I loved. I had the salmon sandwich and it's was very tasty. And my friend got the dirty French burger, now that was worth the money it was massive. For dinks we got an espresso martini and it was a solid drink. Our server Caitlin was great and very sweet!

Let me do the bad first --1) they seem to really want to fit in 5-6 adults in their booths which are slightly bigger than normal but definitely too tight for full grown people, especially if they're there for a business meeting or aren't really close friends. I think I saw them try to get 8 in a booth and I was shocked! There are larger booths in the back, but it also requires quite a bit of scooting. They are very nice booths though, otherwise!2) do not get the lobster gravy fries. I repeat, do not. The description may lead you to be reminded of poutine. But it's not really that. They were not enjoyable at all. The cheese curds or whatever those were are just sitting on top. They were a mix of tasteless and salty. Then the fries themselves would have been good except that they were absolutely drenched in salt and unfortunately sitting in the lobster "gravy." It is indeed what you fear it may be: a thin watery sauce that tastes fishy. It was...not good...we had to ask for ketchup to make the $15 appetizer palatable. The fries would be very nice with nothing they put on it. 3) I would recommend some kids menu items because quite a few families were there. Here's the great and why I gave it 5 stars --1) cute place, very nice furnishings.2) the menu is wonderful and there's quite a few things a pescatarian could have. I definitely want to go back to try one more dish.3) The salmon with green beans was perfect cooked medium. It's normally medium rare, which I personally do not enjoy. Definitely order a carb on the side though.4) The home fries are an interesting fluffy cube of shredded potatoes or something? Very interesting!5) The lox sandwich was delicious -- maybe a little too much goat cheese and I took the peppers off, added a poached egg. Loved that.6) The omelette and salad was perfectly rich. Too much goat cheese again in my opinion but very buttery fluffy omelette. Again way too much salt though. It literally hurt my tooth.7) Pudding was not for kids but very good for adults!!!

This has been on my list for a while, and my only regret is not going earlier! I walked in and immediately was greeted by friendly staff, and we were immediately sat since we had a reservation. I got the espresso martini, and it was pretty good! The food, however, I'll rave about -- WOW. I got the Mortadella Sandwich and my husband got the Neck Bone Gravy (they've got all day brunch) -- both were SO flavorful and well-done. Not to mention -- it came out less than 10 minutes after we ordered it! The atmosphere had both rustic and modern charm, very photogenic. Before we were even done with dinner, we said "we're definitely coming back here again". Highly recommend!

All things were excellent! Beat salad with salmon, knocchi, deviled eggs, pork rinds with shishito peppers and added a side of goetta. Very good along with the best server Maya!
Be the first to ReplyGreat place! Loved the atmosphere.
Good service! Had fun with a group of friends. Had a dirty martini
Be the first to ReplyI would eat here just for the deviled eggs.
They were delicious!!!! Staff was accommodating. We originally were sat in a patio area that gets converted in the winter. The heaters were right above us and it was much to warm. We asked to be moved inside and they kindly and quickly moved us. The food had good flavor and you can tell it was quality ingredients. I just wish for the price the entrees came with sides. Good food. A tab over priced in my opinion.
Be the first to ReplySo yummy.
I had the Diner Breakfast. The scrambled eggs were velvety and delicious. The lemon ricotta pancakes were dreamy. My hubby had a hamburger and fries. Great burger and fries. The Mornay dipping sauce was really good too. Good service. Great food.

This place is fantastic! Must try the hash browns with kimchi ketchup. The bread pudding French toast was really good. The whip cream was a perfect fit for the dish. The White Russian would keep Lebowski away from the bowling alley as it was the best I've had. Not sure what they did but if I guessed they used the whip cream from the French toast. The dude abides! The vibe is killer with a reel to reel player and badass speakers. If I lived in Cinci it would be my go to spot.

Be the first to ReplyThis was my first visit.
It was at the top of my list as a new Cincy resident. I love the outdoor seating. It's perfect if you love people watching or just enjoying a nice breeze. Our server, Jory, was great. He made sure we were taken of but wasn't overbearing. I appreciated his attention to detail. The fries were fantastic! Probably some of the most flavorful fries I've ever had. The sauce was nice too. Creamy, but not cheesy. The sandwich was something I was willing to try since I love fish and sauerkraut. I liked it, but maybe the fish was cooked a little too long. It was a bit dry. I'd definitely return. There are not many vegetarian/vegan options.
Be the first to ReplyGreat ambiance.
Quick seating and the server was polite . Since it was close to closing;I ordered the lobster fries with cheese curds . The fries were great . Cheese curds were bland and that "lobster gravy" is just grease or just that minimum that you can't taste it . The watermelon lemonade was great !

Chef Justin made sure my side of toast was evenly toasted on both sides. He even made sure the butter was spread from corner to corner.
